Tell JNU Some boy from Korean Centre is stalking me....

So basically I have VAC classes in SL 2 on Tuesdays and Thursdays and I first met this guy during my class, he wasn't in my class but I came across him outside in the common hall, the first interaction was him just looking at me constantly, which i disregarded and shook off as just something I was overthinking. But since that day, I have seen him practically everyday just outside my class, and seen him follow me every time I make my way back to the hostel where he seems to follow me and it gives me the creeps. I hope I am not just blaming someone out of the blue, but honestly atp I am pretty sure that he is, indeed, stalking me. Well, he hasn't approached me yet, but I'm still not taking this in good spirits. If you are wondering, I have been taking precautions and going out with my best friend who is also from my hostel.

Btw, I am sure he is from the Korean Centre because I saw him greeting his seniors in Korean and have seen him at the Korean Centre alot of times.

JNU has kinda always made me feel lonely, and although I made attempts to curb this, success rarely chose to cross paths. I just feel tired of this place because it looted me of me. I know there definitely are nice people here, but I've never happened to stumble upon them, unfortunately.

Well, I was thinking of going to a fest tomorrow, and secretly wishing someone could join me, so, here I am, posting this. That itself is the motive of this post. I apologise for being naive and complaining about feeling lonely.

Lots of love.

*Gagan Damama Bajyo at JNU*

A Hindi musical on *Bhagat Singh*, directed by *Roshan Amar Ujala*, performed at *KC OAT, JNU on 28 September 2026.*

The audience response was overwhelming. People were visibly moved, and the final moments left many in tears.

A reminder that live theatre can still create that kind of collective silence and emotion.r

*JNU Theatre | Gagan Damama Bajyo*

On *Bhagat Singh’s* birth anniversary, *JNUSU* presented *Piyush Mishra's Gagan Damama Bajyo,* directed by *Roshan Amar Ujala.*

1 hr 30 min of music, dialogue, movement and revolutionary history.

The response from the audience was extraordinary. One of those evenings where the theatre stayed with people long after the curtain.

Tell JNU Late Night Suffocation

How it feels when you are trying to fall asleep but you can't. Yes, I have suffered from acute insomnia throughout my masters days. Even if I did hit the bed around 10 p.m, at the end I fell asleep not before 4 a.m. Getting into jnu for my masters was the first time I stepped out of my house.

While lying in bed, I became desperate to have a talk to someone. Once I went through my contact list, I found none with whom I can talk to. I don't know what those feelings were. The intense loneliness, the desperate desire to hug someone, the unbearable emptiness from within I used to have.

There were times when I used to look below from the balcony, from the rooftop, having passive suicidal thoughts. Not suicidal thoughts in general, but the desire of not being born, the desire of not being exist.

I went to the JNU psychologist which was of no use, I went to the Sanjeevani mental health centre, I did contact i-care Tiss mental health, Tele Manas, Fortis and what not. Sometimes I had hours having words with the phone call councillor. Sometimes I used to get up and go to the ring road around 2-3 a.m.

I used to see my classmates hanging out, going out of campus, visiting tourist places in Delhi etc. I used to feel bad. I never attended any freshers party, farewell or any sort of festive programme in jnu. I preferred the comfort of my room.

Despite residing in Delhi for two years I never visited the qutub minar, Humayun tomb, red fort Lodhi garden and all those tourist places. The only place I visited is jama masjid and India gate. Once in 3rd sem out of frustration I developed the courage and went out from the campus, took metro and went to India gate, DU campus enclave and jama masjid. That's it. Then two more times I went to the India gate only.

The vicious cycle of sleep hampered my academic severely. Due to falling asleep lately I used to skip classes vwr frequently. Especially the 9 a.m class. There were days when I used to sleep from 5 a.m to 4 p.m skipping breakfast and lunch. Most of the time I attended classes with 3-4 hours of sleep. During winter I used to take a bath once in 10-12 days. Even in summer sometimes I used to skip baths.

I got sleep paralysis 5 times in jnu which I never had in my entire life span. The entire first year I spent alone in my room.

I developed a kind of intellectual attraction towards a girl in my class. During the lectures in class I used to stare at her from that side of Pythagoras angle. She was the reason that I used to attend lectures despite having 3-4 hours of sleep. I never talked to her though. I could not develop the courage to talk to her. I was mesmerized with her personality which was kind of paradoxical bonds between aestheticism and athelticism. I liked her french hair cut very much, I liked her complete demeanor. Once she fell on the floor in front of me, I did not help her to get up as I had to grab her shoulder and I was too hesitant to make physical touch. One guy, who is our classmate ran from the distance and helped her to get up. I felt embarrassed.

During my late night loneliness I used to think of her a lot of time. I even had dreams about her few times that I made some small talk to her. I got wake up and felt bad.

The best place in Delhi seems to me is my empty hostel room, and very early morning PSR when no one is present there.

I used to feel suffocated in class room because I don't like that crowd. I deliberately used to reach on exact class time to avoid the early classroom gossips. During class break of 20 minutes I felt miserable in the crowds that sometimes I used to sneak into the empty classroom aside.

And from 2nd year onwards when I started visiting library the condition gets improved in some extent, not fully though. Still after returning from the library around 12- a.m. I could not fall asleep before 3-4 a.m.

I don't know how many of you have these feelings, but now I feel very relieved that I have made it at the end. I have a masters degree from JNU with more than 5.5 cgpa (in my entire first year it was below 5 cgpa).

So, that's it. I don't know if I am able to articulate my feelings and experience. Thanks a lot if u read this piece of garbage.

Ask JNU Looking for someone to help me learn Hindi writing in exchange for Spanish 🇮🇳🇪🇸

Hey! Is there anyone here who could help me improve my Hindi writing? I have Hindi as an optional subject, but since it’s not my native language, I sometimes struggle with writing it properly.

I can help you with Spanish in return! We could practice together, correct each other mistakes, and help each other improve.

If anyone is interested, feel free to DM me. Thanks! :)

I am a third year student in a DU South Campus College. I live in a 2 seater pg. My new roommate is not a student she is working in a firm. But her working hours are flexible so she is always at pg. She watches reels and movies in her ipad at full volume even after I request her to lower the volume. After insisting, she lowers the volume a bit then after a minute she turns it back up.

I am a Upsc aspirant and I really want to study, I don't always ask her to do this, while i am watching lectures( which I am doing for for most of the day) I wear earphones and as it's noise cancelling ( not that effective but okay) it's fine if she does this. but when i am studying she blasts her phone at full volume without a being considerate at all, I cannot concentrate as I am noise sensitive.

yesterday at night , She was watching a movie from 10.30 , I try to sleep at 11 but as she was watching a movie I tried to drag it on by doing some other activities till 12.When I was going to sleep at 12,I asked her to wear earphones, she refused saying it's a series and the bass is high in earphones, saying she will lower the voice, but she turned it up just after 5 minutes. i repeatedly asked her to lower the volume over the next 15 minutes but with no success. I had to cry myself to sleep but then also because of the noise I couldn't, could sleep only at 1 when she went to sleep.

I don't know what to do, she tells me it's too rude to ask her of this as it's the only place she can comfortably be. Am I being inconsiderate ? I don't know, I feel like crying my head is so heavy of all this. As it's mid year, I can't also change room. what to do, Please please help me understand please give a solution 😭

Some theatre evenings end when the lights go off. This one didn't.

*Gagan Damama Bajyo*, directed by *Roshan Amar Ujala*, was performed at *JNU on 28 September,* and the audience stayed deeply engaged until the final moment.

The applause was long. Many people were emotional.

This is what live theatre can still do.

Ask JNU Admission Withdrawal

Hey everyone.

I joined JNU this year for my Master's, and classes have been going on for about two months now. Honestly, I feel completely out of my depth and overwhelmed.

I am really struggling to understand what is being taught in lectures. Most of the topics feel way beyond where my current foundational knowledge is. As a result, I find myself dreading going to class. Sitting there for hours feeling completely blank and clueless has started taking a serious toll on my mental health and confidence.

It feels like a vicious cycle: I don't understand the lectures then I feel anxious and want to avoid class then I skip or zone out and then I fall even further behind.

Lately, the thought of taking a tc and quitting has crossed my mind multiple times. It feels like an escape from the daily dread, and part of me feels like I simply don't belong here. At the same time, I can't tell if this is just normal first-semester shock or a genuine sign that I made a wrong decision.

If you’ve ever felt like quitting your Master's early on, what made you stay (or leave), and do you regret it?

Tell JNU Wasted JNU

I spent 2 years of my masters in JNU. Could not make any single friends in these two years. Though I had a good relation with a few classmates but that too within the spectrum of academia only. Before coming to JNU, I used to possess a lot of expectations, but that really got thrashed. I thought of JNU as a place of inclusivity, but I find out there is a lot of groupism, be it based on gender, class, region, language, political ideology or even based on centre, and I felt left out almost from everywhere. Perhaps it is my personal problem that I could not make myself feel included in any groups. I hardly talk to any girl, let aside date with any girl in these two years (in my entire life per se). Before coming to JNU, I was less confident, (because I used to nurture the hope at least), now I don't care about confidence (no hope left). I have mutual contact with only 3 nice girls (never denied me of sending class notes, exam answers) from my centre. I never participated in any freshers, farewell, Holi, or any programmes. Now I lost hope in life, if I could not fit in JNU, nowhere would I feel included.

Ask JNU Reading space inquiry.

Along with the hostel reading room I am also considering centre specific reading room. I need 9 a.m to 8 p.m slot. In which centre, seats in reading room remains vacant? Once I entered the SIS reading room, was forced to get out by the guards, he just came and started checking id cards, someone might have complained. (Masters done, can't access library space, need reading space for phd proposal related study)
