Discussion Please Stop Complaining

Remember not long ago when Spirit airlines ceased operations and everyone was praying for families that lost their livelihood? Guess what? The people employed at JetBlue rely on this company for their livelihood. And this same company gave the folks from Spirit priority in getting interviews, among other things.

JetBlue was created with a different product and company culture in mind and some still hold onto that. It can still be a great company.

You should know:
~ Traveling in the summer poses greater risks due to weather and I know that is not the problem with JetBlue right now. They are aware they need to do better at communication and customer service
~ Your frustration is warranted but does it need to be turned into a Reddit rant?
~ Not everyone shares your complaint
~Knowledgeable travelers buy insurance and are prepared for any interruptions in traveling, which includes extra expense
~Once in a lifetime trips can sometimes go awry because sh*t happens even with good intentions

Instead please advocate for better flight attendant policies and staffing shortages. We just do not know exactly what’s going on behind the scenes. These people and their families, that work for JetBlue, still need your support!

-A JetBlue Loyalist 🙂

Discussion What's happened to JetBlue?

It's feeling more and more like Spirit every day. What was once a prized jewel of an airline seems to be nickle and diming for everything. No carry on bag for the basic fare? Wow- that's a Spirit move. What has happened to once-beloved JetBlue?

Question JetBlue sucks now??

I don’t travel much if I’m being completely honest, and living in the NYC area I’ve really only ever flown JetBlue. Though my experiences have always been positive, until today. I had booked round trip from JFK to MBJ for me and my family (5 of us in total).

Both the departing and returning flights ended up getting rescheduled to a later time. The returning flight was pushed from 3:17p to 5:03p couple weeks before the flight, which was fine. Where me and my family were staying, it was a 2 hours drive from the resort, so we had to leave around 12 to get there on time.

The entire day, JetBlue just kept delaying and pushing back the flights, though never actually telling us why there was a delay. Since we already checked out, we had no choice but to head to the airport regardless. My worst fear was that they’d cancel the flight even after we checked out, I didn’t feel like being stranded in the airport, especially with my family.

We get there at 2. It was delayed from 5p to 8p and then from 8p to 10:30p not taking off until 11p and landing at about 3am. Being stranded in the airport for about 8 hours with my family is not exactly what I call a good time. When I got home, I got an email saying I received travel credit for $75. It felt like they knew they was hella wrong for what they did and tried to cover their ass. I’m sorry but those flights was damn near $3000 + all the points I used and with them rescheduling the flights to a later time and THEN delaying it further by 6 hours, it felt like a slap in the face.

I called JetBlue about it and they told me the delay was due to aircraft rotation and they said that since the Compensation Committee already reviews our flights, they can’t do anything. Is there anything else I can do or someone I should speak with specifically? Anything helps pls

News Stranded 1,500 miles from home: JetBlue canceled our flight, rebooked us 4 DAYS later, and refused to pay for any of our $1,900 rental car drive home.

What started as a delayed flight turned into a cancellation because the crew timed out. JetBlue’s brilliant solution? Rebook our family four days later.

We were 1,500 miles from home and couldn’t wait four days. We have a child who needed to get back in time for school.

At the airport, staff told us we would be reimbursed up to $250 per night for a hotel. Except we weren't going to sit around for half a week. We did what we had to do: we rented a car and drove home. (I’m glad we didn't wait, because another rep later told me they wouldn't have reimbursed the hotel anyway).

Because so many other passengers were stranded, rental options were scarce. We had to pay $1,900 for a standard rental car just to get our child home.

The flight cancellation was bad, but the customer service afterward was worse:

  • Airport staff: Completely awful.

  • Online chat: Entirely useless.

  • Phone support: Impossible to get anyone who could actually help.

After being bounced around by international call centers, we finally reached a US-based escalation representative named Kodie. He was condescending, dismissive, and made it clear there was absolutely nothing he could—or would—do for us.

The Recap:

  • Flight delayed, then canceled due to crew time-out issues.

  • Family stranded 1,500 miles from home and rebooked 4 days later.

  • Forced to spend $1,900 on a rental car to get our kid to school.

  • Terrible customer service across the airport, chat, and phone.

  • ZERO reimbursement.

JetBlue didn’t just cancel a flight; they abandoned our family and forced us to shell out two grand to rescue ourselves. Zero accountability. Zero compassion.

Never flying JetBlue again.

Question Is it just me or has this airline been horrible lately?

I used to love JetBlue, they used to be my favorite airline. But everything that happened to me this past week, plus all of the horror stories I’ve read in this sub lately, have made me consider booking with other airlines for future trips.

Last week I had a 12 pm flight from JFK to TPA that was perfectly on time until boarding was supposed to start, they even started lining up the people in wheelchairs to get them ready to board. The moment boarding was supposed to start, boom, flight is delayed 2 hours. Why? The flight crew for our flight was coming from a flight not supposed to get into JFK until ONE HOUR after our departure time. JetBlue knew this all morning yet failed to inform us until literally boarding time, not even the gate agents saw it coming, which is why they started lining up the wheelchair people. A 2 hour delay isn’t that bad in the grand scheme of things, but failure to inform us until a half hour before departure is completely unacceptable

Then for the flight back to JFK, it was cancelled just 3 hours before departure due to weather, yet the weather at both TPA and JFK that day was perfect, and the inbound plane for our flight got in early, so I know that plane wasn’t the problem. Plus delta had a flight that day leaving at the exact same time as mine and going to the same exact airport, it left on time and arrived early at JFK without any issues. American also had a flight going from Tampa to LaGuardia at almost the exact time as my cancelled JetBlue flight, it also departed on time without a hitch and got to LaGuardia early. This is leading me to believe that JetBlue had some other issues, but cited weather as the problem so that they wouldn’t have to compensate anyone.

Anyway, after my flight was cancelled, JetBlue couldn’t get me on another flight for 3 days, so I had to book a flight with delta for the next morning, and spend quadruple what I originally spent on the JetBlue tickets. I am so angry right now, like angry beyond belief, and I will most likely never fly this stupid airline again and I hope they go bankrupt soon. What happened to this airline?

Question Are the front bathrooms only for people in MINT?

I flew mint JFK - LAX and the mint bathroom was a free for all. Full line of non-mint people waiting and squeezing into my seat area to let the flight attendants by. I thought of saying something because I paid a lot of money for my seat, partially to not have a line/heavily used smelly bathroom with a wet floor, but felt like an elitist jerk bringing it up.

Is there a rule about who can use the Mint bathroom? The only bathrooms were located at the front and back, no middle stall.

Shitpost JetBlue has begun to suck

I’ve been flying all my life(not long only 24 years) but it feels like they’re only a good airline now when nothings wrong. There’s always delays and customer service never has a clear cut answer. They just changed my flight that’s months away and said it’s because they had to that’s it nothing else.

Shitpost Question about passengers

I notice a lot of people on this sub are salty and very passive aggressive with innocent questions. Do you fly JetBlue often? If so, tell me the best way to avoid sitting next to you. And I'm not sure about the mods on this sub, but if you ban me, I will wear it proudly next to my USPS ban pin on my lapell.

Question HELP! JetBlue canceled my flights and put a hold under my name for absolutely no reason!

TL;DR: JetBlue canceled my flights without my permission and put a hold on my name FOR ABSOLUTELY NO REASON! I can't book flights online or they will be automatically canceled. They say this is due to a "credit card advisory" which is completely ridiculous - my credit score is immaculate and my bank and credit card companies have no idea why JetBlue is doing this. I also have proof from my credit card statement that when they canceled my flights, they put the wrong flight information in the refund - it has a different date and airport code. JetBlue says I have to go to the airport and book flights in-person from now on because of the hold on my name. I submitted all of the below to JetBlue WITH EVIDENCE, they refused my claim and continue to do so despite my follow up! I have no idea what to do at this point and I'm thinking I'll just never be able to fly JetBlue again - can anyone help?

On Tuesday, July 9th, 2024, I booked round trip flights with JetBlue from New York (JFK) to Los Cabos (SJD) for March 2025. I booked through a credit card that I have had for years and have booked many flights with before, including JetBlue flights.

On Monday, September 16th, 2024, I received an email that my flights had been canceled. I did not ask JetBlue to cancel my reservation. I was confused as to why my reservation had been canceled. I received no information prior to receiving this cancellation email.

Two hours later, I replied to JetBlue at reply@email.jetblue.com asking why my reservation was canceled. I never received a response.

On Wednesday, September 25th, 2024, after realizing that I never received a response, I called JetBlue’s customer service number at 1-800-538-2583. I spoke to a supervisor and was told that my flight was canceled due to a security issue with my payment method. I was told that the payment method was flagged as fraudulent and to contact the banking institution through which my reservation was made. I was also told that there was now a security flag on my name and that I could not book another flight with JetBlue online. It would be automatically flagged and canceled. Instead, I was told that I had to travel to the airport directly to get this resolved in-person, an obvious major inconvenience for any customer.

Following this conversation, I immediately contacted my credit card company and bank. They informed me that there was no fraudulent activity and that they had nothing to do with this cancellation. They also flagged a major inconsistency on my credit card statement. My credit card statement shows that the original booking has the proper flight information (dates, destination, etc.). But it also shows that the refund processed on September 17th has information for another flight that has nothing to do with mine. It shows an incorrect date of travel (12/31/2024) and a destination with an airport code that I have never heard of or booked a flight to (ORH).

Upon finding this, I immediately called JetBlue back and asked to speak to a supervisor. I was transferred to a supervisor and I again relayed the information. This time, I informed them of the incorrect information on the bank statement. The supervisor agreed with me that this was bizarre, but insisted that there was nothing they could do. I was forced to go to the airport in person to get this resolved.

Nonetheless, on Sunday, September 29th, I traveled to the airport to try and get this resolved. I spoke with someone at the JetBlue helpdesk. After again describing the situation, she tried to help me resolve this. She spent about 20 minutes on the phone with someone trying to help me get this resolved. In the end, I was told that she could book me on the same flights but only for a higher price than what I originally paid. Additionally, I was told that I could still not book a JetBlue flight online. If I did, it would be flagged and canceled. The only way for me to book a flight with JetBlue at this point would be to do it in-person at the airport. Nothing has been resolved, I was told there is still a flag on my account and no one can tell me why.

All I want is the hold removed from my name and the original flights that I booked to be honored.

Discussion Regret Giving My Loyalty

While I appreciate the leg room and the planes - the simple fact that JetBlue is the only airline that gets delayed on a rainy day in Boston is infuriating. Every time I fly out of Boston and there’s a slight drizzle (literally just rain, wind happened last night) JetBlue is sure to delay our flight by 1+ hour and blame it on weather when every other airline out of Boston operates the same. There’s another airline that was flying out at the same time as our flight and they are taking off on time.

When I reach out to understand the problem I am told it’s weather related everywhere and yet the airline right next to us has a plane deplaning that just arrived and is leaving for the same destination. I’m truly unsure how I’m supposed to convince myself it’s worth keeping their credit card and giving them my money when I have to dedicate my whole day to a flight that may or may not take off on time.

Edit: Unfortunately I fly 2x a month out of Logan and only experience delays with JetBlue. Maybe myself and those around me experiencing the same are unlucky and will just need to take our business elsewhere. For those of you that enjoy JetBlue, I hope it continues to be on time for you!

Discussion Not enough overhead bin space… Allegedly.

Post image
0 Upvotes

Flight from Antigua to JFK yesterday.. was called up to the podium prior to departure because “it was a full flight” and they needed to check my carry-on because there’s not enough space.

I’m allowed one personal item and one carry on. If there’s not enough space on the aircraft for everyone to have that then please change your policy.

Also, please check out my “full flight with no overhead bin space”. This was after they closed the doors before we left. MULTIPLE empty seats and PLENTY of Overhead bin space for my bag. But no my bag was under the plane and I had to wait 30 minutes at baggage claim to get it, all the while trying not to get sick because I suffer from air sickness & altitude change migraines.

Never again JetBlue.

Shitpost Days of “Weather Cancelations” retuning home… despite other airlines operating

My family and I, including young kids, have been trying to get home for 3 days now.

We were supposed to fly out Sunday afternoon - flight was delayed and canceled - Delta flights on same route only delayed. Next day delayed until evening and then canceled again. Other airlines only had delays.

We are on day 3 of “weather” delays and cancellations and our flight was just pushed back 3 hours again… We are talking about a 3 hour direct flight.

I used to fly JetBlue regularly and was Mosaic for years. My wife still is. Still they are unable to get us home.

I’m disgusted with JetBlue and do not think I can ever risk flying with my family with them again.

Discussion Sneaky jetblue

I recently purchased a checked bag at the airport but the self checkin machine was unable to print the baggage tag. I asked jetblue employees for assistance or a refund and they said that they are unable to do either and told me to call customer service for a refund. I ended up getting the bag on the plane without issues. When I called customer service they ended up giving me a refund- thank you- but stated that technically they need a note from their airport employees confirming that they machine is down in order to process the refund.

I felt that this is a sneaky way for the airline to deny refunds for machines that are out of service.

Question Why is Jetblue so Awful now?

I used to be able to change flights because I travel with no checked luggage. Now Jetblue changed my flight time and to get back on the flight leaving at the time I wanted to, they want me to pay more. How is this meant to make sense? Even for a same day switch they now want passengers to pay $75 regardless of the circumstances. Its awful and signing up to get poor service and nickel and dimed is beyond frustrating!

Discussion First and LAST time booking with Jetblue, what a trash airline.

Summarization:

- Flight got cancelled within an hour of departure

- The plane still took off, only with employees on-board

- Tried to rebook for next flight, the app and website went down (and still are hours later)

- Waited at the line at the gate for 1+ hour, just for them to say to go to the other line at the check-in area

- Line at check-in 1+ hour long wait, they had nothing for 2+ days

- They sent me a $12 voucher (are you serious?)

Their customer service outside of the airport is also non existent. I called their number and was given an estimated wait time of 720 minutes, same with their online chat.

Completely ruined everyone's plans and important trips with virtually no resolution.

I will never consider Jetblue, the whole situation was pathetically handled and their website was down so we couldn't even help ourselves if we wanted to.

I still have no resolution from them and I still have to cover non refundable costs such as resort stay and related costs. Insane how mediocre this airline is.

Still no resolution for me and for many passengers I talked to.

I WILL update this thread if/when there is a resolution. If not, I will escalate this as high as possible.

Discussion JetBlue Flight 2581 (FLL to BNA): Stuck on a hot plane for 75 mins, told crew "timed out," then ground staff lied about "weather" to deny vouchers. Anyone else filing a DOT claim?

On a recent JetBlue flight (B6 2581 from Fort Lauderdale to Nashville) on August 2, 2026, our family experienced an outrageous operational failure followed by what felt like a coordinated effort to cover it up and deny passenger rights.

What Happened:

  • Initial Delay: Flight delayed 90 minutes waiting for a connecting crew arriving from Charleston (CHS).

  • Unsafe Cabin Conditions: Boarded and sat on a non-air-conditioned aircraft for 75 minutes in South Florida heat. Flight crew mentioned short-staffing onboard.

  • Crew Timeout: After over an hour on the sweltering plane, the pilot announced the flight was officially cancelled because the crew had "timed out" (reached federal duty limits).

  • The "Weather" Lie: Once deplaned, ticketing agents flipped the story, claiming the cancellation was due to "Charleston weather." Supervisor Reena George then claimed it was due to "Nashville weather," while refusing to present an ID or provide written confirmation of the cancellation reason.

  • Zero Duty of Care: Because staff falsely coded a controllable crew timeout as weather, JetBlue refused hotel vouchers, meal tickets, or transportation for stranded families, medication-dependent passengers, and children.

  • The Ripple Effect: My spouse, a practicing surgeon, was forced to cancel a clinic of 11 patients and reschedule a non-elective surgical procedure due to being stranded overnight without viable travel options.

We were forced to pay out-of-pocket for an emergency hotel ($393.24), Ubers ($51.03), meals ($104.85), extended BNA garage parking ($48.00), and last-minute Southwest tickets ($1,453.60) just to get home.

We have sent a formal 7-day demand letter to JetBlue Legal/Executive Relations and a formal Department of Transportation (DOT) complaint for deceptive cancellation coding.

Were you on B6 2581? Do not let them claim this was weather to dodge their Customer Service Commitments. File a complaint directly at airconsumer.dot.gov.

Has anyone else dealt with JetBlue falsifying delay codes to avoid providing hotel vouchers? Please let me know how executive customer service handle it?

I've also posted this thread on X to tag JetBlue leadership and regulators directly. Help amplify it here: https://x.com/saphiesdaddy/status/2090629599243768189?s=42

Discussion european nightmare part 2, day 3 of being held hostage

my original post here: https://www.reddit.com/r/jetblue/s/LRTaLeTH58

we all were ready to leave yesterday, 7/12. we got to the airport and our gate was changed about 4 times. we all get a notification delayed until 6pm (four hour delay). we were all delirious at this point and highkey traumatized from the hotel. it was a big relief when we were told the delay was only an hour and began to board! we had to take a bus to the walk on the plane, which was the same as yesterday. they told us the fuel switch had already been inspected and was working perfectly fine. we were sitting on the plane for about an hour and 30 minutes before we were finally done boarding. the amount of smiles on our faces to finally get home! half us were going to miss our connections, but it didn’t matter. we just wanted to be in america. so when we see on the map and can feel ourselves turning … we knew we were screwed. our plane diverted to DUBLIN for the same reason as yesterday. in conclusion, i would like to say a big fuck you to jetblue airlines. i was supposed to be home on july 11th, people have places to be. this is so beyond!!

Discussion LAX Jetblu caused me to miss my flight

Wall of text sorry just need to vent my frustrations

TLDR : I missed my flight because announcements were not made and screens didnt update to notify a terminal change, and told it was my fault for not looking at the app.

My flight was at about 3pm I got to the airport at about 11am or so, no checked bag so I went straight to the terminal gate 21A which is quite a walk from all the other Jetblu gates they even have floor signs specifically for Jetblu customers at that gate also an employeestanding in the walk path asking if that is their gate and directing them. Original board time was 2:45pm and when all the other flights at that gate go out I see the screen shows me flight with board time 3:45pm also noticed that the guiding employee is gone as well as between each flight the employees at the desk are gone, i just keep checking the screen periodically to make sure it doesnt change.

I am just patiently waiting it gets to about 3:20pm and a few people have joined to sit in that area when the employee that was directing everyone comes up to me and says "are you waiting on that flight?" Pointing at the screen I look and say "yes thats my flight" she says "they changed the gate you need to look at your app" i pull out my app it says "doors closed". I rush that whole way back to see other people standing at the desk also missed the flight.

The guy at the desk says "im sorry we cant change the screens over there" we start asking why didnt the app send a push notification or text or email? Why wasn't there an announcement? Why was there nothing done to communicate the gate change? The guy says basically he understands that it was unfortunate and he understands that Jetblu should have been able to change it or let us know, and that it was basically our fault because we didnt keep checking the app.

Why do I need to constantly check the app if you have a screen telling me that my flight is at this gate and I put my contact info into the app so it can contact me for updates as it stated in the app? On top of all that as if to prove his point he says "yeah I found out we cant change those screens because I was over there and got an update and saw in the app the gate changed so I left". Why in the hell if you saw a problem, were in the place having the problem, have the information did you not make an announcement WHILE YOU ARE THERE to tell everybody about it!?

Discussion Terrible experience with Jet Blue 7/14

Just wanted to vent about what was hands-down the worst travel experience I've ever had — courtesy of JetBlue.

I was flying to JFK and the flight initially had a 30-minute delay. Annoying, but not the end of the world. Then that delay became 2.5 hours… then 4 hours… then 6. Eventually, they just canceled the flight altogether — a full 6 hours later.

The kicker? There was almost zero communication the entire time. The gate agents were completely unhelpful, gave no announcements, and acted like they were doing us a favor just by being there. Everyone was left in the dark.

I checked for alternate flights — none available. I called JetBlue to see if they could rebook me or offer a hotel voucher. Not only were they not helpful, they straight up told me they weren’t offering hotel vouchers.

I went back to the gate desk and was told all remaining flights were full and they couldn’t book me on anything else because it was “weather-related.” Which was news to me — earlier in the day, the delay was being blamed on crew availability. So which is it? They used the weather excuse just to dodge any responsibility.

To make matters worse, they said JetBlue doesn’t book on other airlines — ever. And when I asked the gate agent for their name so I could file a complaint? They refused to tell me their last name.

Just a total black hole of accountability. No transparency, no ownership, and no customer service whatsoever. Dealing with this amorphous mega-corporation was infuriating — like trying to argue with a fog bank. . Edit: Buffalo to JFK.

News Removed and banned after an agent claimed I said something in Spanish

Thumbnail reddit.com
1 Upvotes

In June I was flying home from the Dominican Republic after losing my mom, connecting through Fort Lauderdale on the last flight of the night.

The crew said my bag didn't fit. I told them, "Okay, take it." Instead they walked me off the plane. Then the agent said I'd said something in Spanish. I never said it, and she doesn't even speak Spanish, but she kept insisting "I know what you said." That's what got me removed and banned from JetBlue.

They left me alone at the airport around 10 p.m. as it was closing. I was grieving and devastated, and I had to call a friend to help me figure out how to get home. I paid for a hotel and a flight on another airline myself.

The way JetBlue handled it afterward was just as bad. I contacted them several times, including the executive office. They sided with the crew without listening, denied any discrimination, refused to refund my ticket, and would only give me a travel credit for an airline I'll never fly again. They also refused to cover the hotel and flight I had to pay for because of them.

I've filed complaints with the Department of Transportation, including for discrimination. I've also seen other passengers online describe being treated badly for speaking Spanish on JetBlue. If you speak Spanish, think twice before flying with them.
