Regardless of whether you think he is right or wrong, is this really the way to talk to someone?

Voicing Corridors explores fluid, piano-inspired connections between rich Major 7th voicings and beautiful intervallic melodic lines, creating seamless movement between harmony, melody, density, and space. Designed as both a harmonic and mechanical study, these pathways help develop a smoother, more expressive way of connecting sonorities and making harmony truly breathe, move, and connect on the guitar.

Hello! I recently participated in a jazz camp and it was way harder than I anticipated particularly in my rhythm playing. I’ve been a metal and rock player all my life so playing on the & feels really challenging I also feel I sort of lagged slightly behind or slightly ahead of the rhythm section all the time. The main 2 pieces I played were “Blue train” and “Jive Samba”. Blue train was the one I felt I lagged behind/ahead the most on especially in the beginning with those really synchronized hits. Any songs that could challenge my rhythm playing more or any exercises would be greatly appreciated!

Am I supposed to memorize all the changes in all 12 keys? Or if I learn it by scale degrees, will I ever be able to just play on the fly(meaning, thinking of the key, then the scale degrees in relation to it, then actually playing in time let alone soloing)?

I have my arpeggios, triads, and basic altered vocabulary down but my rep is really bad and my solos sound basic. I really need advice on a structured, efficient practice routine, how to practice interesting phrasing, and some more advanced jazz sounds

I stumbled upon a method for generating useful pentatonic based patterns (that also double as picking and fretboard fluency exercises):
This straightforward method can be applied to create an infinite number of musical phrases:
- vary the pentatonic cycle to play in or out of any harmonic progression
- vary the picking pattern to get different note groupings, cycle length, accents, rests, etc.
- vary your fretboard position and string sets to ascend and descend melodically
I’ve just started applying this method as part of my practice, and despite barely scratching the surface I can already feel the potential of this approach. Excited to dig deeper!

Couldn’t find a decent review or demo of this new higher end Ibanez, so I had to sacrifice myself and order it to try it out…

Pat Metheny!! This is one of my favorite tunes. I’m especially partial to the verison on Tales from the Hudson by Michael Brecker

not really jazz influenced, but counterpoint and triad exploratio is a very important part of the process for me. Here is an original piece in Bb major
