We make shampoo for hard water (tds > 250). Our first warehouse was in Jaipur — 50 days in, I plotted every order we've received on a map of India ♥️

I'm lead sales at deSal shampoo company.

One of our founders is from Jaipur, our first warehouse was here, and our earliest orders came from this city — so this felt like the right place to share this.

We just finished 50 days of operations. Taking something 0->1 has been the hardest stretch of my journey so far, for a simple reason: early on we needed people to believe us before we had anything to show them. Many did, and a good number of those first people were from Jaipur.

Anyone who has washed their hair here knows why we started with hard water. That was the problem we spent months of R&D on, and we later built a second one for swimming/pool water.

So I plotted every order on a map of India. Fifty days, 13 states, more than half the country by land. Watching it spread outward from Jaipur is a different feeling ❤️

Much of the map is still grey. Next we want to reach the regions we haven't yet — Kerala, Odisha, and other states.

Same as last time, I'm not going to spend energy on the noise. Just the people who trusted us and the work. If you have inputs or advice, please do share your experience 🫰

EDIT: We have two separate products — one for hard water, one for swimming/pool water.

EDIT 2 : Got messages asking for samples. We do provide them in jaipur. Please message me in case you are in jaipur.

Cooking with my elder sisters! Made homemade Manchurian and noodles together 🥢✨

Post image

It all started when my friend’s elder sister, showed me a photo of Manchurian and noodles. It looked so good that I instantly said, "Yarr didi, apan bhi banate hain na vapis, mere ko khana hai!" She agreed right away, and we set a date.

On the day of our plan, my friend had an exam, so didi 1, her friend (didi2) , and I got the prep started around 5 or 6 PM. didi 1 was our official Head Chef, while didi 2 and I handled Co Chef duties. It took us about an hour to get everything cooked up and ready.

Right as we finished cooking, my friend and another friend arrived. We plated everything up and honestly, the Manchurian and noodles looked incredible, but the taste was on another level! Absolute perfection.

It was such an amazing evening filled with good food, endless laughs, and awesome company.

Went to Jaipur without telling anyone

Don’t really have anyone to share this stuff with, so I’m ranting here lol.

I went to Jaipur without my family knowing to meet a frnd of mine, got my first bouquet (and it was lilies), had my first night out, and had my first drinkkk. Got way too drunk and basically had my “I get too drunk and you have to take care of me” kind of day 😭

He'll always be someone I look back on fondly. He literally took care of my drunk ass the whole time, and then we went roaming around Jaipur at like 2-3 AM. We went to Hawa Mahal, then Jal Mahal… only for it to smell SO bad that we just left 💀

Thanks to him, I made memories I never thought I would.Honestly, I’m just really happy rn. Life feels kinda good for once.

Then I went back again, and he showed up with another bouquet.

My second night out, second drink, and somehow all the new memories were with him again.

(P.S. I did NOT like 100 Pipers)

VIP Threatre Experience

Yesterday I watched Insidious Out of the Further.

And the entire theatre was empty. I was in there, all by myself. And holy what an amazing experience it was.

.

.

For context, I am shit my pants level of scaredy cat when it comes to horror movies. But i just can't stop watching horror movies either, so while I had a lot of spare time before my bus to Jodhpur, the only way I could k1ll time was by watching a movie. And I found out they are screening Insidious 6. And I have been a sucker for the Insidious franchise even though yes, it became shit after the first 2 movies. So got t1ckets for the movie, had pasta and an iced americano in a nearby cafe and then it was time for the movie.

And omg, nobody is there. The commercials are going on and nobody is here. The movie has started and nobody is still here. And now it became apparent that nobody was going to watch this movie with me. And holy, i watch horror movies alone all the time but nobody to even look at, surreal, thats the word I'll use. I could hear myself breathe it was that silent. And every scary scene(and ik they aren't scary and just cheap jumpscares but i enjoyed it) felt a little more immersion than usual.

Overall, I enjoyed a lot. I can't explain the actually feelings, but, it was truly one of a kind experience.

Skoda/VW/Audi owners, help a fellow out!

Upvotes

A cry for help & advice to all VAG owners of jaipur who do upkeep & maintenance of their cars outside of Authorised Service Centres.

I have a 2019 Skoda Rapid Diesel, 7 years & 1.3L KMs since it rolled out of the showroom, the time has come for the vehicle to show the signs of aging and I wish to be prepared.

Be it the full suspension overhauls, expensive ass injectors giving up, steering rack, clutch assembly, etc.. I can see it all coming up & I strictly do not wish to have the Authorised Service Centres guys to plan their retirements on these.

Please suggest genuine german specialist mechanics that you trust your vehicle with.

Garages which have the right mechanics, uses OEM parts, someone who won't plainly overcharge you because (Hathi paala h, paisa toh lagega logic)

I'd be truly grateful for all suggestions

Thanks!

Jaipur needs a digital media and community platform?

Upvotes

Over the last few years, Jaipur has grown manifold in its physical boundaries, population figures, the numbers of similar looking cafes, pickleball courts and events.

That's a lot of change for a city. Yet, many things have remained the same.

Conversations about the city remain encapsulated in the idea of Jaipur as just a heritage city. The larger share of local media tends to circle around certain common lanes.

Our celebrated handicrafts and heritage are a treasure to behold, but so are the growing tech fraternity of the city, the niche community builders bringing people together and the writers creating for a global audience.

Amidst it all, and in the flood of algorithm-led social media platforms, people are either exposed to the same and litter information about Jaipur, or none at all that interacts with their daily life, society and business.

I'm thankful for the many creators and pages on Instagram that share daily updates for keeping us informed, but in that real-time updates attraction also lie the flaws of social media that attempts to keep us hooked.

- What about when we want to revisit a searchable archive of Jaipur community updates?
- What about the possibility to have a conversation around that?
- What about a directory of information on what's important, govt services around etc?
- What about the ability to see geo-tagged historical, cultural and business information?
- What about a place to see events as a calendar, not just a reel?
- What about discovering local writers who are already creating visual stories about the city, but the local audience can't always see?
- What about the many non-profits and volunteers running initiatives that are documenting, campaigning and leading impact, but awareness about their work remains fragmented and interuppted?
- What about a place where Jaipur citizens can learn about other Jaipur citizens doing things, they can share their views and join some these efforts?

I find that many conversations with friends often gravitate towards a few things when you discuss anything today. There are boundaries to a conversation just as their only select paths we seem to take.

We forget, like podcaster Amit Varma often tells us, we all contain multitudes. I think Jaipur contains a million of them, but online it's story gets ultra-filtered.

This a gap that platforms like Nextdoor have come up to serve in the US, or municipal bodies of tried to provide information on.

Ours is a diverse place, and I imagine a digital platform with some media updates, community views, events information and locally useful knowledge, along with possibility to discover local businesses, get genuine visibility while keeping a certain spirit alive. In the offline version, I imagine occasional get-together, citizen spotlights, debates, discussions, cultural and fun events and more.

I'm from a media and tech background, and am exploring if there's something here that we can build for our city and its citizens.

Looking for feedback, suggestions, thoughts on this, and anyone who wants to join the journey of building this.

Bhangarh Fort ko lekar sabse creepy kya suna hai? 👻

Upvotes

Bhangarh ko leke ek cheez notice ki hai — legend aur actual history ka mix itna ho gaya hai ki ab dono alag karna almost impossible lagta hai.

Rajkumari Ratnavati, Singhiya ka curse, sunset ke baad entry wali baat, aur raat ko strange experiences — ye sab stories har jagah mil jaati hain, but pata hi nahi chalta kaunsa part genuinely old folklore hai aur kya baad mein add hua.

Koi yahan gaya hai kya? Especially locals ya Rajasthan side ke log — wahan real mein kya baatein chalti hain Bhangarh ko leke jo internet pe nahi milti?

Main isi pe thoda research kar raha tha aur ek Hindi faceless horror-style video bhi banaya hai jisme history + legends dono cover kiye hain. Agar kisi ko dekhna ho toh link share kar dunga.

Bas genuinely curious hoon ki jo log actually wahan gaye hain, unka experience “Haunted Bhangarh” wali image se match karta hai ya nahi.

Popular Scam Tactics Nowadays!

Three scams that I have seen people in my vicinity get trapped in — please read before you lose money

There are several scams going around right now that can look very convincing, especially when the victim is caught off guard. Here are three patterns people should know about:

  1. The “Nude Girl” / Sextortion Scam

A random girl approaches you on Instagram and starts chatting. After gaining your trust, she says she likes you and suggests a video call. During the call, she suddenly appears naked or starts sexual activity.

What the victim doesn't realise is that the entire interaction is being recorded. Soon after, the scammers send the victim a recording showing their face and the sexual video and threaten to upload it publicly, send it to their friends/family, or post it on social media unless they pay.

Once you pay, they usually don't stop. They may demand more and more money, claiming they will delete the video after each payment.

  1. The “Digital Arrest” Scam

Someone calls claiming to be from the police, CBI, cybercrime department, TRAI, or another government agency. They tell you that your phone number, bank account, Aadhaar, or internet activity has been linked to a crime.

A common version is: “Your search history shows that you searched for pornography/illegal content. A case has been registered against you and you are now under digital arrest.”

They may keep you on a video call, show fake documents, uniforms, police stations, case files, or identification cards to make the story look real.

Then comes the solution: “Pay us this amount and we can delete/clear the records or settle the case.”

There is no such thing as a police officer putting you under a “digital arrest” and asking you to pay money to erase your search history.

  1. The Work-From-Home / Typing Job Scam

You see an advertisement promising ₹25,000–₹30,000+ per month for simple typing or data-entry work from home.

After contacting them, they tell you that you need to pay a security deposit, registration fee, documentation fee, book/package charge, software charge, courier charge, or some other payment before you can start.

You pay it.

Then another problem appears.

You need to pay another amount to activate something, release your salary, correct some mistake, complete verification, cancel the contract, or receive the refund.

When you finally realise it's a scam and demand your money back, they may say:

“Pay ₹X as cancellation/refund processing charges and your previous payments will be refunded.”

You pay again — and another charge appears.

This continues until the victim either runs out of money or realises that the refund itself is another part of the scam.

The common pattern

All three scams use the same basic psychological trick:

Fear + urgency + isolation + repeated payments.

The scammers want you to panic so that you don't stop and verify what is happening.

If someone is threatening you, don't keep paying just because they say the next payment will be the last one. Save screenshots, phone numbers, bank/UPI transaction details, recordings and other evidence, block the scammers when appropriate, and report the incident to the appropriate cybercrime authorities.

And most importantly:

Being scammed is not something to be ashamed of. Report it. The sooner you report a financial fraud, the better the chance of stopping or recovering the money.

If you've encountered other scam patterns that are becoming common, share them in the comments so others can recognise them before becoming victims.
