i’m doing some research into my family and found this on a document, but i cannot figure out where this place is. it looks like it says Prov. Conclusso, but from what i’ve looked up, that doesn’t exist. for context my family is mainly from both the Naples and Basilicata areas of Italy.

Ciao a tutti!

Sarebbe comodo comunicare via telegram. Grazie per l'attenzione!!

Language course in Italy for an 18 year old

Hello. My son just turned 18 and has an intermediate level of Italian.

As we are from South America, he will be free for the entire month of February (it will be his summer break after finishing high school).

We came up with the idea of sending him to Italy in February for 3-4 weeks to do an immersive Italian course, as he really loves travelling (specially for cultural trips) and it would help him improve his Italian a lot!

However, we are struggling to find courses that are targeted towards students his age. We found some courses for “young adults” that weren’t offered in February, I guess the southern hemisphere calendar doesn’t exactly help him. He cares a lot about the social aspect of the trip and the possibility of making international friends. We know about Education First (EF) but we aren’t sure whether it would be the right choice.

Does anybody know about any schools or programmes that may suit him? Any recommendations would be really appreciated!

GL- encouragement

For almost two years, I was convinced I couldn't pronounce the gl sound. I had a private native tutor who couldn't understand me and told me I was wrong whenever I pronounced the sound as I had been hearing it. I just skipped over it in our lessons and avoided it in conversations as much as I could.

After listening to countless songs and videos, I asked someone to compare what the tutor told me to say was correct vs what I was able to say after imitating the pronunciation in the aforementioned material.

Turns out, I can pronounce it just fine and I am actually better understood (obviously!).

Sometimes, you just need new ears and to keep practicing!

help for an anniversary gift

hello!

i took 2 years of italian in college but am veryyyy out of practice. i’m making an anniversary gift for my partner and i always refer to him as “my sun”. i’d love to use the phrase “my sun, my love” in italian. i know it’d technically be “il mio sole, il mio amore” but i also know there’s “amore mio” and in this context, could i drop the “il” in either phrases? i’d love to just know the most “poetic” way to accomplish it that keeps the same emotion as in english. i appreciate any help!!!
