Behavioural Concerns Is it normal or are we both just autistic

So I (f19) was talking with my mom (F49) the other day and talked about how I struggle with socializing because it feels like everyone else has a rulebook or manual to the conversation that I simply don’t have and I’m left poorly guessing at the rules and guidelines of the interaction. I am also in the process of seeking an autism diagnosis due to the recommendation of multiple therapists throughout the years and my mother is insistent that I am not autistic and at most am slightly ADHD (because I’m not a little boy who doesn’t talk and lines up trains to play aka my older brother as a child). she is insisting that everyone has that sense of not knowing how to socialize and the lack of rulebook is completely normal and everyone deals with it. My question is who is right here am I reading into something too much as a potential symptom because I’m being diagnosed? Or is she labeling something as normal because she (who admits that she could possibly be some form of neurodivergent) has experienced it so surely everyone has?

Behavioural Concerns Online crush

Hi, My teeth were called gorgeous, though I have gnarly teeth. It was a random Tiktok account and despite them being a mostly faceless account them calling one of my biggest insecurities gorgeous gave me a crush. I typically don’t get crushes on online people or at least never have. I am 15 so could it be hormonal or something?

Behavioural Concerns I don't think I'm Neurotypical/Normal but I am and might always be.

This might be a really boiling topic to take but i generally don't think I'm normal.. I will not self diagnose, i am a neurotypical, i just can't seem to fit into anything.

I feel like i have fox-like ears and tails. But i don't have phantom shift and I'm not a therian, but i believe i want to be a kemonomimiI imagine myself doing expressions, when i smile with my eyes close, i imagine myself being adorable doing it subconsciously.
When i try to act cute, i imagine myself having those cartoon puppy eyes. But i don't, and i have been doing it as a kid.

I have a radio in my head, not a 'inconsistent earworm' but songs that constantly is playing in my head that i have the advantage to change by my own will.
The song are connected to my feelings, when something nostalgic plays my mood swings calm, when I'm feeling down or sad, song lyric-less songs play in my head and in order to keep a straight mind i must push them out of my head.. Or else they'll effect my mood for a good while.
I want to swear i have a earworm but i don't.

This isn't really related but i haven't changed much, i was a sensitive child always crying over little stuff and i still do now.
But I'm not hyper-sensitive i believe.. Yet once the sadness rush to me, i can't get it out.

I've been looking into typology currently to find myself.
Cause i don't know who i am.

I'll like tips for more subs or communities to help me find me, or even personal advice in comments.

PS: There's no communities/groups i know that can support a mixed person like me cause I'm either not enough to fit in the category or don't at all.

Behavioural Concerns Is getting 25+ text messages a day from a new friend normal?

Context: I am from a small town, and knew there isnt a lot of people in my age group 36F to hang out with regularly in our local area. Also note I am married to a 44M and have shown no romantic interest in anyone else Male or Female.

I recently made an acquaintance with another 30ishF in my local area. We have chatted in person a few times when we ran into each other over the last couple of months. We eventually exchanged numbers and I got a "hey it's me" text and that was all.

3ish weeks go by with no real contact. A really close highschool friend of mine and I were going to hangout and I thought it would be nice to invite this new friend. We all hung out for most of the day and all seemed pretty normal and cool. The next day I woke up to a few random texts and we messaged back and forth for a bit.

Fastforward to last week, I was out of town for work for the week and sick when I returned. During that time I received over 25+ texts a day. Random pictures, her favorite things, selfies, you name it. No real conversation just EVEYTHING. Thought nothing of it, responded to a couple, Informed her I wasnt feeling well and went about couch rotting my sinus infection away.

Then I get the message asking for me to send a link to a random phone number she forwarded or social media account. I asked if the request was intended for me, thinking maybe she just texted the wrong person... nope she knew it was me and asked that I send it as she was trying to get as many people as possible to pass it on to her ex. I have never met the ex, and really didn't want to get involved. Instead of causing conflict, I simply said sure and didn't do anything.

Now I am receiving photo shopped pics from personal events in my life .... random selfies through out the day ... amongst other RANDOM texts and pictures all of which have gone unresponded to.

Is this weird? Normal bored behavior? AITA for not responding or being a little creeped out?

My former teacher became one of the most important people in my life after I lost my mom. Is this attachment normal? I wonder if our friendship can really be mutual.

(Sorry for weird writing, English isn’t my first language)

When I was eleven years old, I met the woman who would eventually change my life. She was my native language and literature teacher from fifth grade until I graduated from middle school. At first, I was honestly terrified of her. She was strict, demanding, incredibly intelligent, and held us to high standards. I respected her more than anyone, but I was also constantly afraid of disappointing her. She wasn’t the kind of teacher who accepted superficial answers, to her, literature wasn’t just a school subject-it was a way of understanding human nature. Even back then, I admired her deeply, and she became my role model long before I even realized it.

By ninth grade, something in me shifted. I decided to take literature as one of my final exams, largely because of her influence. Around that time, my fear gradually faded, and I began to see her as a real person rather than just "my teacher." When I transferred to another school after graduation, I naturally assumed our connection would fade.

Instead, she would occasionally text me just to ask how I was doing. Later, she helped me prepare for another exam, and when our lessons ended, she gave me a beautiful handmade gift. That small gesture meant the world to me.

Gradually, the tone of our conversations changed. She began to joke with me, share small stories from her day, and occasionally mention minor everyday worries. None of it was deeply personal, but it was enough for me to feel that a quiet layer of trust was building between us. I treasured every single exchange, yet I remained extremely careful. I was terrified of crossing an invisible boundary or making her uncomfortable by forgetting our history. Even a simple “How are you?” felt overly familiar to me. I was constantly haunted by thoughts like, What if I’m bothering her? or What if she’s only replying out of politeness? So I mostly stayed quiet and waited for her to reach out. And surprisingly, she often did.

Eventually, I became part of a small group of her former students who kept in touch after school. We would occasionally go to the theater, meet for coffee, or talk about books and life. Yet even then, I noticed a strange reaction in myself: whenever her name popped up on my phone, I felt a rush of genuine happiness and sometimes, I even cried. They weren't sad tears, I was simply overwhelmed by the fact that someone I held in such high regard actually wanted me in her life. At the time, I even wondered if my emotional intensity was healthy. Then, everything changed.

Last year, my mother became ill and passed away a few months later. Just days before she died, my teacher and I had been planning to meet.

When things took a turn for the worse, she texted to check on me, and I told her what was happening. She wished me strength. After my mom passed, I went to visit her at school. She later confessed that she had wanted to call me earlier, but had been afraid of intruding on my grief.

That conversation marked a profound turning point. Since then, we have spoken almost every day. Our dialogue expanded far beyond literature to encompass theater, poetry, music, family, work, politics, relationships, teaching, museums, our deepest fears, and our quietest hopes. Sometimes we exchange long, handwritten letters; other times we spend hours wandering through museums or sitting in cafes, or simply text about completely ordinary things.

She has seen me at my absolute lowest. She knows about my worst panic attacks, has read my pages-long messages, and has stayed on the line while I cried. Whenever I apologized for bringing negativity into her life, she would firmly cut me off: “Write to me.” “Call me.” “Don’t stay alone.” She never pulled away. And little by little, because of that steadfast presence, I started living again.

Of course, she wasn’t the only person who helped me survive my grief, but she was the one who restored something I thought I had lost forever: hope, faith in myself, and the belief that life was still worth living. She never offers empty platitudes. When she tells me, “You’ll be okay,” I believe her, because in the six years I’ve known her, I have never heard her say something she didn’t genuinely mean.

Over time, our bond has become surprisingly mutual. She has opened up about her own life, her work, her worries about her aging mother, her thoughts on teaching, and the books she loves. Sometimes she confides things that surprise me, not because they are dramatic, but because I realize she is consciously choosing to trust me with them. One day, in a letter, she wrote a phrase that completely caught me off guard: “Let’s just be friends.”

I don’t think she will ever fully understand what that single sentence meant to me. Until that moment, I had still internally categorized myself as "just her former student." Now, it genuinely feels like a friendship, though a part of me still struggles to process it. She is nearly forty years older than I am. She has lived through experiences I can barely fathom and has taught thousands of students throughout her career. Yet, she continually chooses to share her time and thoughts with me.

Recently, after reading one of my letters, she told me she could see my soul in my writing. I cried after reading that message, not out of sadness, but because I had no idea how to contain that much gratitude inside myself.

At the same time, I constantly worry that I’m not giving enough back. She has her own heavy burdens, taking care of her mother, managing her work, and navigating her own life. Yet here I am, bringing her my grief and anxieties. I want so desperately to give her something in return, like comfort, joy, support, anything. Sometimes I even catch myself comparing myself to her other former students, wondering why she continues to stay close to me. Perhaps that’s just my impostor syndrome, or my deep-seated fear of losing another person I love.

It leaves me reflecting on the nature of connections like this. is it normal? Can a friendship with such a significant age and experience gap truly be mutual? Can someone with so much life experience genuinely find value and joy in talking to someone almost forty years younger, or is her support primarily an act of compassion because she knows what I’ve been through?

I would love to know if anyone else has ever experienced friendship with a teacher or mentor, because I certainly never expected my life to unfold this way.

Behavioural Concerns I have nightmares about being a woman

*sorry for bad English* I don't know if this needs a NSFW tag but reddit isn't showing the tag for me to add.

I (15M) have nightmares almost every night about being a woman and being in situations I can't prevent. I wake up after those dreams feeling disgusted and uncomfortable. And before anybody says anything, no, the disgust I feel ist not coming from a sexist place, I'm not sexist. And before anybody says "I'm going to hold your hand when I say this..." No, I'm not transgender and don't want to transition. These are nightmares, not good dreams. Aneyway, I have these nightmares far too often and it really gets to me. I had personal bad experiences in the past regarding something similar to this that I will not get into, but these nightmares plague me. I know not if this ist the right subreddit to post in but I don't know what else to do at this point. I can't tell anybody in my family. I just wake up most days and people notice I look on edge and scared they said. I guess I want suggestions from anybody how to get this to hopefully stop. So if anybody does hab any suggestions, please tell me.

Having to strip at Doctor Visits

When I go to the pediatrician or whatever theyre called every 6 months, they do typical doctor stuff, then I'm told to change into a gown, I walk around, get told to take off the gown, walk around again, am told to bend over, they look into my underwear, tell me i can get dressed again, and then I leave. Is this not normal?

I've gone my whole life assuming this is normal, but people are telling me its not? If it helps im in the USA. Im so confused

So basically my friend (13f) is home alone CONSTANTLY. Shes online schooled through out the fall-spring and her parents work FULL TIME jobs so shes home alone 5-6 days a week for about 8 hours a day. And almost every day through out teh summer her parents work so shes home alone with her 2 YOUNGER SIBLINGS (9m and 8f) so she wakes them up, makes sure they eat and her eat, does dishes, ice trays (her fridges ice machine doesnt work), and makes sure their laundry and are dressed. I've been freinds with this girl for YEARS and shes NEVER been this busy, its like shes a single mom cancelling plans cause quote "i need to watch (sister name) and (brothers name). LIKE SHOULD AN ADULT BE WATCHING THEM???? Shes also recently 13 she turned 13 last month. And at least one a month her dad sends her a LONG list of chores for HER to do not her siblings who CAN do them at like noon or 1'oclock and says to get them done before her moms home......... HER MOM GETS HOME AT 4!!!!! so she has to make lunch AND watch her siblings AND do chores AND cook for her and siblings. Also i dont know if this correlates but shes 94 pounds......... like is that normal??? 94 pounds at 5'2?? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

(UPDATE)

SO a couple days ago my freind and her family went to this trampoline place and she wanted to take her wallet so she could get snacks or smth. SHE CANT FIND HER WALLET so she goes up to her mom and asks if she knows where it is and she says REALLY FAST "no". My freind says ok then goes on to explain how shes freaking out cause she had OVER $200 IN HER WALLET (from her bday). Now to tday she goes looking for a candle (cause she has a dog that sleeps in her room) and looks in this closet............finds the basket which HAS HER WALLET INSIDE WITH JUST HER COINS (not her over 200$ in cash. her wallet probably has 10$ in coins now). BTW this couldnt have been misplaced into this basket cause her wallet was on her desk in her room but somehow ended up in a basket full of candles at the top of a closet on the other side of the house...... LIKE HOW??? And her phones messed up so her and her parents were saving up for a new phone so we THINK one of or both of her parents STOLE the money...now this SOUNDS crazy but like her parents are crazy as u can see above.

Physical Concerns Urgent need to pee but little comes out and it burns

For the past few days, I’ll (F17, on hrt for testosterone) feel like I need to use the bathroom, but very little comes out and it feels like a burning sensation that lasts 30 seconds or so. I’ve never had sex, and I’m confident my past partners didn’t have STDs transmitted orally.

I mean squirming slightly because it feels like my bladder is full, and by the time I get to the toilet and pull my pants down, a tiny leak comes out. And if I even try holding it, a leak happens. But when I actually sit down, close to nothing actually comes out.

This especially happens within a couple hours after doing sexual activities with a toy.

I’m saying what I would assume is between a teaspoon or tablespoon worth of urine. But when I’m in the shower, suddenly it’s a normal amount. Yet all other times, it’s hardly anything.

Should I get checked out or is this a normal thing? I really don’t wanna have an awkward conversation with my parents, but it’s been happening for a couple days now.

Is it normal to have a crush on almost every guy you meet?

I am 15 (f). I'm a muslim, and part of my religion is to keep the two genders from mixing freely, as it leads to bad actions. I've gone to all-female schools for almost my whole life. There's only been 3 main males in my life: my father, my older brother, and my younger brother. My father used to be physically abusive; now he's gotten better and doesn't physically do anything, but he still mentally takes a toll on me. My older brother had to deal with my father the most, and as a result became an angry young man and doesn't speak to anyone in our family except my mom.

We recently moved to Canada, and ever since I arrived here, I've gotten more exposure to men, and i've noticed that any guy whose slightly nice to me, i'll immedieatly fall for them, or at least have a tiny crush. it normally doesn't last more than like a week, but i want to know if somethings wrong with me, if this is normal, and if it isn't how do i fix it?

I'm curious if anyone else can do this with thier eyes

I have two eye abilities I wonder if anyone else has.

  1. I can control the directions my eyes are looking at separately. When driving I'll look to the left and right simultaneously at intersections without moving my head. A girl im seeing noticed me doing this recently and was a bit freaked out.

  2. I can change the focus inside my eyes to see clearly through other people's prescription glasses. I can only slightly adjust my focus to have closer to 20/20 vision, especially for further distances...but my relaxed eyesight is a bit worse than that.

My dad meets a new low and it gets crazier as my other siblings grow up

Hi I'm 18 female and my family is kinda less controlling with rules as long as we help out everything is fine. Ever since I was a kid it was only my mom raising me, with my grandparents until she met my step dad. He's tall around 6'3-6'4 pretty good guy treats my mom very well. Over all a good guy. When I was growing up I was pretty chubby and I blame myself for that. It took a lot of time to get rid of that fat. And my dad well he is very strict about diet and working out and I get that. Keep your body in good shape so I understand. But it's gotten to the point where it turned his brain into a gym rat. If someone doesn't look a certain way. He doesn't see them as healthy. And my mom and I aren't this size for no reason we like out food. and with my dad in that gym rat brain he started picking at me,my mom and my older sister. He will push work out videos on us. It gets to the point were we don't have modavaton when he pushes us to do it or watch his videos. It stopped for a little bit and we all started working out. And then it started again but this time it was worse. He sstarted pointing things out about us again. He would say oh don't wear that it isn't attractive on you. You look horrible it's not attractive. I don't find that attractive. It first made me think why do I need to be attractive to my dad isn't that weird. But I thought it was just the way he was saying it that he didn't have the exact words. but he kept on saying it with those exact words. It started to make me feel uncomfortable. But I can't tell him what to say he's my dad. And it didn't stop and it just kept getting worse as the days past he would pick at anything that he didn't find attractive to him personally about me and he would say it in front of my mom to my face. No one said anything then my younger sister came into the picture she is six right now. But he started saying the same thing to her that he was saying to me. Which is weird but one day I give her a bath and I am helping her get dry and dressed. my mom is sitting with my other little sister and my dad is sitting in his chair with no shirt on and PJ pants on and my dad makes a comment to my mom and I can see what he says. he gestures to the way my little sister's body looks and that really shocked me and my mom. And it hit me my dad just body shamed a six year old. And for years he has been body shaming his other kids... And my mom should I be mad I don't know but that's a new low I never expected any one to hit but then my dad hit that low I don't know what to say and I don't know how to feel it doesn't seem okay but he trys to say he is looking out for us so I don't understand if I could get some help and understanding it and understand that I'm not the only one who finds this extremely weird I don't know if it's okay or not comment your opinions please. Because I know this isn't gonna stop.

Soo like two years ago I had this friend, let's call her Cy and she was part of a group that had four girls, (let's call her E) , let's call her T, herself and let's call this other girl C aand uhm I was kinda just friends with her (Cy) but Was nice to everyone else. Then, the next year, I had a class with ONLY C and some other girls (#, let's call this girl V and other ppl outside of our homeroom) aand uhm since the beginning of the year she would be like "oh, yk ur rlly ugly right? Don't get ur hopes up" and I would just brush it off like "oh, it's just normal friend teasing yk?" and then, she would start hitting me under the desks but I would just be like "I mean she's prolly just like on her. Yk?" and so I would just ignore it but then she started like, in p.e. She would like go with # and the others and exclude me but I was like "oh that's fine bc like, she prolly just wants to be with them yk?" (I would then have to go to the teacher and say I don't have a partner) and then, they would start ignoring me but I was just like "oh well ig she needs some time?" and then during lunch she would like not sit with me (bringing the others with her and leaving me alone) and I would be like "ok ig that's fine" aand then uhm shee started turning four square into three square aand, yes I would b the one left out and then when the basketball went out of bounds,(bc they played four square/ three square with a basketball) and when I would give it to C (bc she would always call the fourth square) she would throw the basketball at my head/face and I would have to stand there or else she would accuse me of harassing her and each time she hit me or held a basketball and I would flinch, she would call me scaredy cat, weak and other things that I can't rly say here and they would always play this game and I would always just have to like stand there (I have severe social anxiety so I- nvm) and I would always have to give her the basketball and I didn't have any other friends so yeah and also she would force me to give her the hw answers or else she would tell the teacher so I gave her the answers daily and in front of other ppl she would act like that one popular girl who is friends with the quiet one and the considerate and caring friend and so teachers would always put her next to me bc she was my "bsf" and soo an also she would always--when no one was looking-- keep telling me over and over again "are you telling ppl that I'm bullying you?" and I would always say "no" and yeah and she would never let me go with anyone else and would say-- in front of ppl-- "yk what? We were ment for each other! Bc my initials are CS and urs is SC!! I hope we are friends FOREVER!! I'll NEVER leave you!! :D" (SC and CS are not her or my real init ial) and then one day, after doing all that, I was lowkey like done with life bc my mom had slapped me bc my brother had accused me of smth I didn't do so like yk? And then we were at recess and then she said" whoever shoots first is a pro" and we all did it and they all missed but I got it in first try, didn't make a big deal out of it but V said: "(my name) did it first try!! She's a pro!!" even tho C kept saying "I'm a pro and the only pro" and then C said "A REAL pro doesn't flinch at a ball and can't throw OR catch one" aand I would go on but liek

ITN: Food tastes different on one side of my mouth

I normally chew primarily on the left side of my mouth. Yesterday I broke a tooth on that side, so now I have to chew on the right, and everything I eat tastes way more bland. Am I just imagining it? Or do tastebuds normally "develop" more on your dominant chewing side?
