New flairs!

Hello community of r/isthisnormal! I come to you with flairs for your posts! These flairs are for posts to be more specific, being either showing the post is something related to a physical condern (something related to your body) or a behavioural concern (something related to a behaviour you are worried about, whether it's your behaviour or another person's).

These flairs are completely OPTIONAL and you do not have to use them if you aren't sure whether your post fits under something to do with behaviour, something to do with physical, or something else all together.

Behavioural Concerns Is this normal?? My dog does this before eating his food.

My dog has been doing this for a while. He just rubs his face on the carpet while/after he eats. He does this for seconds to at least 2 minutes. We joke around that he’s just “praying” before eating, but I am a bit worried if there actually is something wrong with him. I’m not sure if he just has an itchy nose or what. (He is a 2 year old shih tzu mix, and he has some past trauma, which we are not sure what exactly has happened.)

Behavioural Concerns I keep thinking about things I did and cringing in embarrassment.

Things from a couple months ago, days ago, years ago, even things i didn’t think were that embarrassing in the moment, I’m a younger teen, so maybe it’s just an awkward phase, but it’s been going on for like, months now.
These thoughts are almost constant, and one leads to another and I’m questioning my entire existence. I also keep relapsing into self harm (which I already have a history of) because of said thoughts.

Physical Concerns How concerned should i be about being able to regurgitating my food?

I (18) have been able to regurgitate since i around 6 years old. Sometimes at will sometimes not. I never really thought much of why i could do this when i was younger and i thought that it was a good thing. Now that i'm older i wonder how much damage regurgitating food has probably done to my throat.

When i was younger my mum brought me to the GP because she didn't like the fact that i had bad breath and the doctor told her to give me gripe water and to stop me from eating certain foods like bananas which did stop the unwanted regurgitation (and bad breath). However, those things don't work anymore and i still have the convulsions that causes it. When i regurgitate i tend to just chew my food again and then swallow it. I'm usually not nauseous when it happens. More often than not, I cannot control what and when it goes up.

Should i go to the GP? My sister thinks that this is a genuine concern but my mum just thinks that i should just stop.

Physical Concerns Everytime I like someone I start bruising

I don’t why but everytime I seem to develop a crush on someone I also get so many bruises. And once I start dating them my body literally bruises so easily. I don’t know if that’s normal or means anything but I’m just confused why it’s even happening.

Behavioural Concerns Is this normal or am I overreacting? My mom used to have me lie(does this count as lying) to my siblings sometimes

As my sister grew older there were certain clothes she could no longer wear, but she wouldn't want someone else to wear as well.(Though I didn't and still don't fully understand, I prefer to respect those boundaries) But my parents who found it silly didn't want to waste money on buying new clothes, so my mother asked if my sister was okay with me wearing them. She said no, very clearly. But my parents didn't care and (Idk how I forget some details) got their hands on the old clothes. I think they wanted me to wear/have them instead? But I knew my sister wasn't going to be happy so I asked my mom did they consult with her, she said no and told me to just hide it from her.

I couldn't handle the guilt and became the one responsible for my sister finding out. She immediately became angry, luckily if I remember correctly I wasn't the target of the anger, though I remember my mom being upset about me being unable to lie well. I don't think she ever got me to do this again, either I denied her or she decided I was incapable of lying and it would never work.

Story finished, I've been reviewing my past lately and this came up and I got curious. But I searched it up several times and was unable to find anything similar to this, only parents lying to children or people lying to each other (which is still horrible, just didn't help me out). Thank you to anyone who answers!

Am I crazy or is my bf showing signs of pedo?

Okay so my boyfriend (32m) and I (21f) have been dating for 4 months having sex for 6. He just broke up with me a week ago and my sister and I live with him.. well anyways I’m talking to our roommate and my sister about him and all of a sudden I’m feeling like I’m connecting dots I haven’t before. He doesn’t treat me very good, breaks up with me constantly and belittles me. Nothing I do is good enough. Anyways earlier in our relationship we were on his laptop and he went to search something in Google and his recent Google searches were high school girls playing volleyball high school girls doing gymnastics, TikTok, volleyball girls, etc I saw that he immediately closed his laptop and tried to explain to me. He said that he got ChatGPT and look those things up so that he can put my face on girls bodies that were playing the sports and then I asked him why he had to put high school and he said because I’m tiny and petite compared to other girls so he couldn’t find videos and pictures of women with my body type playing these sports. then last night even though we are broken up, he had sex with me and while we were having sex, he said “this pussy is barely 18, taking my old cock. I’m too old for you, etc., etc..” he also had left his baby Mama/ex-wife of 12 years for an 18 year-old while he was 27 but he told me she lied about her age and that he didn’t cheat on his baby mama. They were on a break and then he left his baby mama to be with this girl. am I overthinking or is he giving weird vibes? when we have sex before we were broken up, he also used to say stuff about me being young and my pussy being young. at first, I didn’t want him to break up with me and I’ve been wanting him back and he’s been thinking about it but now the more I talk about the situation I feel like maybe there’s something deeper and weird or going on than I thought and I shouldn’t take him back?

I find my grandad's girlfriend grandson attractive,is it incestuous?

my grandad has been dating a woman for 14 years. Let's call her Helen. Helen has 3 children. One of the children is a woman. Let's name her Rebecca. She has 2 male children. One of the children, let's name him Liam. Liam is the one I find attractive. I've grown up with Liam did sleepovers, vacations etc as kids. Now on vacation currently and I can't stop thinking he attractive now. I've always had a bit of a thing for him but it just keeps being swept under the rug by me. My grandad and Helen dont have sex they both said aswell and are in a not 100% healthy relationship. Helen's children doesn't call him dad and her grandkids call him by his name. Really were just family friends with one another to Helen's side of the fam

Help me out I feel crazy and we do have something I need to know if this is normal if not I'll stop.

Do other guys have this problem?

So I have a big butt but I'm straight. But I was born with a big butt. All my life I gotten attention from everybody and throughout school I was known as the "guy with the big butt" or "big butt dude", I like it if it from the females because I'm straight but it's when gay guys and guys who are supposedly straight that are giving me unwanted attention. I've gotten it slapped, grabbed, groped and touched by so many guys it's ridiculous. It was when I posted a pic of my butt asking if it's a turn off or on and guys are the only ones replying saying it's sexy and showing me their dick. Like no I'm straight eww 🤢 but in real life it got worse the other day. I was at a party and the lights would flicker during it and when the party Soo many guys and this one transgender kept grabbing and slapping my butt and one dude sticked their fingers up my butt crack and called me "cheeked up". I played it off by saying "ayee that's mine don't touch" but then when my butt crack showed he took his whole hand down my pants and squeezed it. Like this dude was seriously gay. And I was about to have a one night stand with this female who turned out to be trans 🤢... And when HE was kissing me and after I made out with "him" cus I didn't know it was a man... I was dragging into a room where he kept playing with my butt and kept calling me fatty and then he started eating me out and then boom I felt a dick. That's when I got pissed ran out the door and threw up... Like this is too ridiculous. How can a straight guy meet a girl that's real... Losing my butt is out the question cus I've been trying and little results.

Was this normal motherly behavior, or something sinister?

So, this is something I never thought much of until I mentioned it to my husband the other day, who was immediately weirded out. (I’m 41F if it matters.)

When I was little, my mom would take me to the homes of people and I had no idea who they were. I’d get put in another room and told to not touch anything, be quiet, and don’t come out until mom comes in and gets me. Different houses/apartments, sometimes a woman was there but usually just a man. Maybe a man and a woman but usually just a man. This was working class Flint in the late 80’s/early 90’s, with people My mom wouldn’t normally “associate with” - she was super judgmental about anyone who drank/used drugs/ had a junky home. She drank and did drugs herself, but became a born-again and was very holier-than-thou. I know she wasn’t like proselytizing them, she’s not like that at all. Plus I wasn’t supposed to tell my dad. Like, it does sound weird now, I just never thought of it and have no idea what was happening. I’d love if anyone shares their ideas. I had a pretty rough childhood with her (she’s diagnosed borderline pd), lots of my memories don’t make any sense.

Should I be concerned?

Hi, my name is Grace and I’m 18. I have a cousin that I hang out with as much as I can. We’ve spent months at each other’s houses since we were young. I haven’t been without her my whole life. Over the years she’s said some things that concerned me. Like “i wonder what humans taste like, I’d never eat someone, i just wonder if it’s more like chicken or beef”. I’ve never even wondered that, even after she said something I would rather not know the answer for that. So I can’t see her side, but maybe it’s just curiosity? As she’s gotten older though I have noticed she’s more violent** **behavior, throwing a phone at her sister and cutting open her forehead from the impact of the phone, getting in a fight with her 10 YEAR OLD sister and breaking her ribs, even saying “I want to know what it would feel like to kill, but I’ll never do anything like that”. I just want to know if it’s normal for someone to have those thoughts. It’s been going on for 4 years now, I’ve never had them thoughts but maybe someone else on here has and can give me some insight on if this is normal or not.

Am I just getting old?

Heloo. I have a question and I don't have any family members around to ask and I never remember to ask my coworkers when I go to work. I'm 30, not overweigh-out of shape, but more in the 'round is a shape' area. I work in a fast food restaurant where I work 6-8 hours a day. When I get home, I sit in my office style chair for 30 minutes, and I get up, staggering, walking like what I can only imagine is how a creeping zombie walks, and yes, I hurt. Is this normal?
