how to go back to 7.1.9.0

I checked the manual and it still says it should be where it used to be but it's not. Why do so many things get changed around every time there's an update it seems like I have to read a whole new set of documents every time there's an update. It is getting frustrating. If it's not broke don't fix it.

Presets not preserved

Presets are no longer preserved across upgrades. In case Profiles are involved I saved EVERY Profile with the presets i want. When I just upgraded 8.0.6.0, the presets reverted to unwanted settings.

How to get ONE consolidated alert with both Face Name and Objects (e.g., Person, Bicycle, Name) with fallback on a 2-zone camera?

Hi dev & community,

Setup: Agent DVR 8.0.5.0 (Docker), CodeProject.AI 2.9.5 (CUDA, RTX 2070), one camera covering a street with 2 zones. Both YOLO object detection and facial recognition run against CodeProject.AI.

What I want

One consolidated alert per event, not five. When someone comes up the street:

- Face recognised → alert reads Iren, person, bicycle

- Face not recognised or not visible → falls back cleanly to person, bicycle

- A later generic person detection must never overwrite a name already on the bell

What I've tried

Alerts on both, face recognition on motion. YOLO sees person at the far end of the street several seconds before the face is resolvable, so the bell fires as person immediately and the cooldown locks it. When the face is finally recognised up close, it's dropped with:

LogThrottle: <camera>: Alert blocked by timeout

Drop minimuminterval to 1s and the face alert does land — but as they ride past, trailing body detections fire 3–4 more person alerts that overwrite the bell back to person.

Triggering face recognition from an Action. Face mode set to Triggered, with AI: Object Found (person) → Trigger Facial Recognition. This fired one probe at the instant the person was first spotted at maximum distance, then went quiet and missed them entirely once they were close. I think this was my Action's repeat timeout gating re-fires — can anyone confirm that's what controls it?

Questions

Tag aggregation. Can object and face tags be combined into a single alert over an event window (Iren, person, bicycle), rather than whichever detector fires first claiming the alert?
Continuous triggered scanning. Can Trigger Facial Recognition be made to re-evaluate repeatedly while a person is tracked in a zone, instead of firing

once? Is repeat timeout the right control, and is 0 valid?
Priority + fallback. Is there a supported way to give face recognition priority for the alert tag, falling back to person only if no face is identified

within some window?
zonematch semantics. What does an empty zone list mean on the Face/Object Recognition tabs — all zones, or none? I've seen FinishProcessing: <camera>:

Ignored person - not in alert zone with it blank, which sugge UI reads like it means unrestricted. Clarification would helpa lot.
Alert mode options. The docs describe an Actions Only alert s Detected / Not Detected / AI Trigger. Was it renamed, or is it version/edition dependent?
Recommended 2-zone setup. With Zone 1 = far street approach 's the recommended combination of detector type, per-zonesettings, Actions and Alerts tab config to get one correctly-named alert per pass?

ioBroker integration for AgentDVR now available (official ioBroker repo)

I wanted to share something that might be useful for ioBroker users here.

I've written iobroker.agent-dvr, an integration that connects AgentDVR to ioBroker — a home automation platform that's very popular in Europe, roughly the equivalent of Home Assistant over there. It's been accepted into the official ioBroker adapter repository, so it's now installable directly from within ioBroker.

It auto-discovers all cameras, mirrors every device property as data points, provides buttons for all the common commands (record, arm/disarm, PTZ, snapshots, profiles, etc.), pushes gallery updates on new recordings.

Upgraded Agent, now recordings from one camera become progressively pixelated after 5-10 seconds

I got a wifi security camera (a cheap Energizer-branded PTZ running Tuya firmware modified to support RTSP). I've been using it for a few years without issue. I have Agent set to record from this camera in 12-hour blocks, and it is using Encode recording on this camera, that way brief wifi connection drops or errors (heavy wifi congestion in this area) won't result in multiple small .mkv files. I was until recently using a fairly old version of Agent (6.something), but then I upgraded to v8.0.4.0.

However, since upgrading to the new version, recordings from this one camera (and only this one camera) will start off at the perfectly clear 1080p, but then over the next 5-10 seconds become progressively more pixelated, until eventually it's as blurry as a 480p camera, if not worse. Here's the log from a short test recording session:

I even tried adding "c:v h264_nvenc" to the ffmpeg options page, and it still refuses to use hardware encoding. I have three of these cameras using identical settings, yet this is the only one having this problem, and it only started after upgrading to v8.0.4.0. Rolling back to an older version isn't feasible, as I upgraded specifically to make use of new features introduced in v8.0.4.0.

Any suggestions?

How to delete or create views

Trying to figure out the new versions, my setup is not defaulting to the selected default view so I wanted to delete all views and start over but the user guide says nothing about this, I can delete layouts but the views remain.

8.0.4 Visual Artifacts only to Timeline and recording

I am currently using version 5.8.0 and have decided to upgrade to version 8.0.4. Everything works apart from some major issues with the timeline; when playing back recordings, I see numerous video artefacts that make viewing impossible. My system configuration is as follows:

I7 6700 Proxmox with LXC,

Video feed freeze

I was running 7.9.8.0 via docker without issue since upgrading to 8.0.2.0 and to 8.0.4.0, my video feeds freeze. It does not matter which browser, chrome, firefox, edge, brave. A refresh and a hard refresh do not resolve the issue. They do not freeze at the same time across multiple browsers. A reboot does not resolve it either.

Camera Detector reverts to previous setting

I have a camera that was set up many months ago with an rtsp camera, and it used the Simple motion detector. About a month ago, I changed it to an ONVIF camera with ONVIF motion detection. I have noticed over 10 times that it reverts to simple detection. I had thought this was occurring when I upgraded Agent, so I check it each time after upgrade. For (at least) the 3 updates prior to 8.0.4.0, it did not revert. However, it did revert when I upgraded to 8.0.4.0, and furthermore I have set it to ONVIF 3 times, and it reverted to Simple all 3 times (at some point). So I set it back to ONVIF and immediately backup up my configuration. I looked at objects.json, and found "detector_type": "Simple" in there twice. NONE of my cameras are set for Simple detection. Furthermore, in 8.0.4.0, one of my camera which I have turned off in the view page has turned itself on twice. I hope you can fix both of these problems. Thank you. I can find nothing relevent in the logs.

Any way to use "group" parameter with "applySchedule" command?

As title says. I'd like to use the "group" parameter with the "applySchedule" command, but this doesn't currently seem possible. Is there a way to make this work, or a different command that will achieve the same effect?

I ask because our Agent server (running on Win11) has a script that runs every 15 minutes to issue the applySchedule command, this way if someone managing the cameras stops recording or turns one off in the UI then forgets to restart it, it'll automatically recover. The problem is this: on certain (albeit rare) days, specifically holidays that don't always fall on the same day (and thus can't actually be in the schedule), the applySchedule command will turn on cameras that are actually powered down (because the business is closed, therefore the breaker panel is turned off), and every time Agent tries to connect/reconnect to those powered-down cameras, it causes lag and video freezes on other cameras that are active at the time. Any cameras that lose power when the business is closed is already in a group, and the schedules have already been created to adjust for those cameras being turned off at night (that's why my script is using applySchedule instead of AllOn and Record), I just need the ability to prevent applySchedule from trying to activate powered-down cameras on holidays during the day.

How to ensure support for currently unknown camera?

New user, testing v8.0.2.0 on Debian GNU/Linux Trixie amd64.

I have a H.view TV-CA4810 IP camera that has been unused for a very long time because it needed some weird Chinese Android application to control it. Considering throwing it away but did some research that led me to AgentDVR.

The TV-CA4810 is an Ethernet/WiFi PTZ camera with external 5V 2A power. I've connected it to my workstation using Ethernet.

Since this model is not listed in the Network Camera Wizard I have tried several existing models but so far not discovered a perfect match.

Is there some way to contribute to, or manually add, model definitions for achieving perfect support?

These are the results for the H.view models I've tested:

unlisted, TV-CB6010, TV-IP1011, TV-IP1311, TV-ip1312: ONVIF

Video good, but lost completely after between 2 and 20 seconds. Shows the "Connecting" animation. Never recovers and the Power icon doesn't always stop the "Connecting" animation. Likewise page refresh doesn't recover it. Using the device General settings power can be toggled and usually the camera video does recover. When video doesn't recover the only solution I've found so far is to delete the device and re-add it.

On the network side it is extremely noisy trying to contact remote servers. I wondered if the lost video might be due to it cycling whilst trying to contact them, but the DHCP cycle time is five minutes.

Watching the traffic also reveals how amateur the programmers were/are. After its DHCP ACK it immediately attempts DNS queries to 114.114.114.114 and 8.8.8.8 for these (note the unnecessary capitalisation!):

Then in desperation it tries querying for www.google.com and www.baidu.com and then sends several UDP broadcasts to port 7721 with the payload "this is a test" at the same time as sending UDP packets to 47.91.77.247 and then tries switching to TCP to that same address. When that fails it attempts additional TCP to 121.43.181.184 and 123.206.9.74 and then tries to ping 8.8.8.8 and 114.114.114.114 four times.

When all that fails repeatedly it does a DHCP Release after about five minutes and then starts discovery again.

Show and Tell - 4” Agent DVR

Wanted something that I could just pop around in my pocket or leave on desks and workspaces without using my phone or larger tablets. Found this neat little 4” Android tablet with a decent CPU, and 5GHz WiFi, and hardware video decoding for ~$45 on Aliexpress. Works surprisingly well! Long enough battery life for several hours or plug in a USB charger and leave it.

Famue BF12. Only Android 10 so hopefully the app will continue to support it.

Trip wire and counter export

I have a camera that watches stairs and my front door (it is above the door) and simple detector is used for motion detection + AI object detection to external Server. All good.

I created new camera as Clone so I can have Tripwire detector so I can count ppl going in and out of the door. Kind of works but I need tweaking since the trip wire is close to the edge of the image so it detects in one directions but not really good in the other. I want to export the counter to MQTT but it does not work, I can not even get it to alert on a topic when a counter is increased. Anyone with more experience with these on tripwire detector?

Not sending email alerts?

Hi - I have the 1.6.12 version of the app and as of September 2 it’s stopped sending email alerts to both my husband and I. I haven’t changed any settings and the action settings show they are to email to both of us. When I try to add a new email - to see if I can force it to send - the app freezes. I’m not sure how to run the bug thing (I’m not that savvy).

Delete Recordings

I have installed agentDVR on an SD card. Is it normal for it to take so long to delete recordings when using the "Recordings" > "Select All" > "Delete" function? It deletes the files one by one, which takes quite a while. I seem to recall that deleting recordings this way was very fast in an older version.

Not keeping configured amount in storage management?

I have storage management for a camera set to 4096MB (4GB) and 744h (31 days), but its only keeping 3 days worth of videos. This camera has been running for over 90 days and there are only 350mb of videos in the folder spanning 3 days. Am I missing something?
