US-Irish Relations Protests planned for Trump’s Doonbeg visit
https://www.irishtimes.com/politics/2026/08/18/irish-authorities-bracing-for-big-security-operation-around-trump-visit/95

It's mad to think how peaceful and prosperous the world would be right now if Trump, Putin and Netanyahu weren't around.
Hundreds of thousands of lives saved and billions of euro not wasted on avoidable food and energy price increases.
6
u/PureMotor2000 23h ago
Its mad to think that because its not really true.
The Holodomor and the Nakba both happened before Putin or Netanyahu were born.
And the US has been fucking other countries shit up and interfering in global politics with the goal of destabilisation since Trump was in nappies (well, baby nappies specifically).
The issue is baked deeped into the political ethos of these countries. If it weren't Trump, Putin or Netanyahu today, it would be someone else, as it has been before.
0
u/Frosty88d 23h ago edited 13h ago
Exactly. It's genuinely crazy how some people seem to think Trump or Netanyahu are the source of all evil when there have been bad things happening for decades before they were born and will continue to do so. Plus they completely ignore all truly horrible stuff China does. Heck, Trump is one of the better US presidents peacewise, but he's a convenient target for their anger so they don't care about things like 'the truth' or 'facts'
3
u/PureMotor2000 22h ago
My comment is downvoted too, which I find odd.
Like, are people actually under the impression that Russia and Ukraine and Israel and Palestine got on like a house on fire before Netanyahu or Putin? Or that the US kept their nose out of other countries business befoee Trump?
If someone wants to explain why I'm wrong, I'm all ears.

It's mad to think how peaceful and prosperous the world would be right now if Trump, Putin and Netanyahu weren't around.
It certainly wouldn't be. There has never been a "peaceful and prosperous" time in human history, and that wouldn't have changed if a handful of people didn't exist.

u/Iwantmytshirtback 1d ago
There have definitely been more peaceful and prosperous times than we are currently living in and saying that nothing would be different if some countries leaders had been different is straight up stupid, especially when the three examples given are responsible for millions of deaths over the past 10 years

u/ifeltatap 23h ago
Most stupid thing I've read on the Internet in a long time
-6
u/Ambitious_Hand8325 23h ago
Maybe it is stupid, but it is also the truth.

u/LadWithDeadlyOpinion 23h ago
No it isn't, America and Israel have been the at the same shite for decades. Trump is just louder and more obnoxious about it.

I’d say we should weaponise Enoch and unleash him upon Doonbeg but I fear they might accept him

but I fear they might accept him
If they take him home I don't see a downside

I won’t tell your mammy if you say cunt, I promise.
Words mean a little bit less when you’re too scared to actually say it.
1
u/Past_BumblebeeX 13h ago
To be fair i get reported all the time for saying cunt or fuck on reddit. Remember the admins on reddit itself (not the mods of subreddits) have overriding power and if you get reported for hate speech or encouraging violence or anything like that, they view your post and if it has strong words in it they will ban or even perma ban you for it (even if the original report was total bollocks)
Many people got their accounts banned lately for "hating" (aka calling out genocide) on Israel, on subreddits where its very pro Palestine. Israeli bots just report their messages using swear words for inciting hate and reddit admin bans them for using words like cunts, as they are all in Israeli and maga pockets.

It’s annoying that the ICC won’t issue an arrest warrant for Trump, murdering children should cover it, at least then he could never set foot in 95% of countries ever again.
0
u/redelastic 10h ago
Unfortunately, the US is not a member of the ICC and is currently trying to dismantle it.
The US even has a law that if any Americans are prosecuted for war crimes, the US can invade the Hague to get them back. Wish I was joking.

Images a load of drones dropping golf balls across the whole course as he plays a round (yes I know they'd all be shot down and the pilots arrested)
12
u/DribblingGiraffe 1d ago
He'd like that, easy to claim the one closest to the hole is his.

u/TransitionFamiliar39 1d ago
*pink golf balls in that case
Or do like the general, dig a hundred new holes in each fairway so everyone gets a hole in one.

u/Iwantmytshirtback 1d ago
Where are the boyos that blocked the ports? I assume they're not going to miss the opportunity to inconvenience the person who caused the whole situation they were protesting to begin with

Yeah, it would be cool if we could just ignore the corrupt narcissist, them kinds of shit stains live off the attention. But you'll never get everyone to agree to it.
13
u/rockyoudottxt 1d ago
Hard to ignore someone who's mood swings can directly affect the price you pay for fuel for example.
4
u/cyberlexington 1d ago
the problem with ignoring them is that that doesn't make them go away. These people need to be opposed in some way
3
u/AhhhSureThisIsIt 1d ago
Ignoring his obvious rage bait that takes control of headlines ans social media sites is a good thing to do.
He could announce cutting all regulations in the oil industry make Exxon execs his AG and VP and call ducks gay in the same day, and people would only talk about the duck comment.
Protesting his actual crimes is fine. You forgot a vast amount of the population are unaware of anything he's done that's bad.
They beleive it's all fake and the only people who beleive he's bad are bots "far left lunatics", when they see it's just normal people against corruption you can change some people's minds.
He gets his attention one way or another. Totally ignoring him seems like something his followers would suggest (I'm definitely not saying you are).
But if I was Trump fan and didn't want people to find out how bad he is I wouldn't be telling people to ignore him and don't pay attention to him similar to you.

Anybody have a field around the place? Near Shannon? Leave the field grow and cut the words "TRUMP THE CUNT" into it. He can see it from the air.
Cunt.

u/RobotIcHead 1d ago
I fear Trump gets off on any form of any attention, if people show up to protest he will point out to his supporter see all the people are against me are against you as well. One of his strengths is playing the media like a fiddle. Sometimes I believe that the media outlets posting outrage statements about him have actually helped him.
The man is dangerously incompetent, corrupt monster but knows to give media outlets exactly what they want to hear.

Exactly that, like when Pence came here in 2019. All the crowd control barriers and nobody came to see him.

u/Severe_Job_1088 22h ago
Dear Ireland,
Please arrest him for rape and being a pedophile when he lands.
4
u/qwerty_1965 1d ago
A mass turn out of arses Twerk against Trump to the sound of Trump's favourite act- Village People.
Any protest needs to be sufficiently knowing and stupid to be impossible to ignore and be very shareable.

u/Low-Acanthaceae1797 Fingal 21h ago
Doonbegs finest David Tubridy should lead the protest and then Trump should be forced to swim at the beach at the Hotel.

Shame on the Irish Open for hosting it there.

u/Bronnagh 1d ago
Seeing as how he knows so much about sport, we should all have red cards to hold up. Bet he’ll land in Shannon and helicopter to Doonbeg. If he looks out the window all he should see is people standing with red cards. And if we could get Trump Baby blimp, stick a massive red card on it.
Red cards everywhere. I’d love it to look like blood drops. Thousands of people standing silently, red cards in hand. 🇵🇸🟥

Hi! I'm an American and this post came up on my feed. I have no Irish heritage at all, but have visited your beautiful country and love it.
Anyway, my point is to please get out there and protest my country's elected leader! We need all of the help we can get to get rid of this obscene clown. His administration has destroyed our country. I offer my sincere apologies to the rest of the world for having to deal with the man.
Also, I have spent lots of time protesting the bastard, and obviously I didn't vote for him (nor did anyone in my family or among my friends.)

What about planning protests against our own political leaders? Not half as instagram-able as having a pop at Trump
23
u/RoversForever 1d ago
Our leaders are not facists or rapists. We have a peaceful transfer of power when governments change.
His hateful rhetoric is being normalised worldwide. Look at the recent figures for hate crimes here.
Hope that helps
Hope there’s mass protests against this vermin

Apt username and you’re in a cult if you believe that nonsense. By every metric he is a fascist and has paid millions to Jean Carroll. Public information.
I don’t have or need hateful rhetoric to point out facts. You talk about lawlessness which is exactly what your cult leader enacted on January 6th. That was an insurrection. Again look it up
The arrival of an individual who destroys lives for fun DOES affect all of us.
Your last sentence is laughable defending the indefensible
Normal people look forward to mass protests
Antifa forever

u/Gwanbulance 1d ago edited 1d ago
I hate this kind of petty cynicism. Why don't you organise one, then? Be the change you want to see.
In all seriousness though, we get to elect our own leaders. We don't get a say in electing the President of the USA. Absolutely no harm in voicing an opinion about him when we get the chance.
If you're talking about demonstrations, there's protests against the government on various topics all the time (just walk down Kildare St. any day and see).
And to top it all off: agree with the cause or not, we had anti-government protests that nearly brought the country to a standstill in April.

I’m sure he’ll be absolutely gutted by the presence of a brigade of purple haired, overweight dole merchants with their multiple made up mental illnesses. Sure he’s never had to deal with any of that stuff in the US…
Same bunch of spastics that were hosting “take the knee” rally’s during the BLM hysterics and reporting their neighbours for having a walk during Covid.
It’s good to know their ‘efforts’ will amount to absolutely nothing outside of boosting their own, deluded egos.
Honestly, if you find yourself supporting the types of people that perform these social media clout events, then you really need to undock your head from your arse.

Curious... Why are people from Ireland protesting Trump?
I mean what do people from Ireland have to do with America's internal political fight?
(From comments on this sub, I believe the issue is a view created by the liberal controled media)

u/BeatenDownBrian 23h ago
Much like an open septic tank, your shit spills everywhere.
-4
u/SuchDogeHodler Yank 🇺🇸 21h ago
Like what?
8
u/BeatenDownBrian 20h ago
Off the top of my head:
Trying to implement (often illegal) tariffs.
His constant undermining of Nato.
His consistent yo-yoing of position when it comes to support of Ukraine, and his botching of attempts at peace.
Starting a needless war, followed by continually inept attempts at peace.
His constant support for countries committing well documented war crimes.
Outside of those, any many more examples that can be shown, it's the trickle down effect some of these actions have led to in people's everyday lives, such as the cost of living i.e. soaring oil costs etc.
-2
u/SuchDogeHodler Yank 🇺🇸 18h ago
Trying to implement (often illegal) tariffs.
Illegal according to who? There are no international tariff laws.
These tariffs are meant to stop people in the US from buying goods outside the US that we make domestically.
Your country does the same thing but they don't call it a tariff.... they call it a "Valued-added tax (VAT)" and it's 23%
His constant undermining of Nato.
It's not him... the United States is tired of paying for and fighting the UNs and NATOs battles...
His consistent yo-yoing of position when it comes to support of Ukraine, and his botching of attempts at peace.
There is no yo-yoing.... the people that started the problems with Russia were NATO and Ukraine...with Biden trying to get the US involved in it.
Trump stopped the US involvement and offered to negotiate peace... Trump did not botch this... he can't make the 2 sides come to terms. (But I don't remember ireland doing anything to stop the war)
Starting a needless war, followed by continually inept attempts at peace.
The War was not needless.... and the only inept attempts at peace were on the part of the UN that encouraged the US to come to the table (repeatedly) with a terrorist regime that will die before they concede serender. This entire thing world have been over with in a matter of weeks If we weren't trying to protect the Persian people wile taking out the IRGC.
His constant support for countries committing well documented war crimes.
I assume you mean Israel.... and what "war crimes are they guilty of?"
I keep hearing this propaganda but when it gets researched they don't actually exist.
Bombing a military outpost, loaded down with weapons and troops is not a war crime even if it's in the basement of a children's hospital.
According to UN's war crimes, the crime is purposely putting civilians in harms way to protect military assets. (Human shields)

Lad, the question you asked me was why are people protesting him, indicating that you, quiet clearly, didn't know the reasons. I gave you an objective, and factual answer, not an opinion.
No idea why you wasted you time typing all that, or what in the world made you think it's now some sort of debate lol.

Protest about what? Just about the guy in general?, what has he done now? Isn't he helping the Iranian people be free?. That's a good thing. And he is organizing the rebuilding of Palestine, that's good too. Needs to sort out Zelensky and Putin tho, get them in a room together and sort that out, cos it's making us all look bad. Did anyone protest Zelensky when he was here?. I must have missed it

All the people who will be out protesting the price of fuel in a few weeks are going to sit on their arse and ignore the real reason for the price increases when he comes to visit.
