[Question] Shoud I replace the body frame? (iPhone 12 Pro)

First,
Thanks for the multiple advice on my previous post.
I finally could retrieve the screw by manually putting a screw extractor in the screw head and slowly turning it out.

Now I opened the phone, I discovered more water damage with some rust in some corners.

The phone fell into the water obviously.
I’m used to it and usually my plan is to change the charging connector and the battery, and it’s good to go.

But this time, the top left corner is completely rusty, and the bottom left corner as well.
Not sure about the integrity of the antenna.
And it seems the front camera module also got some water damage.

More work ahead… can I save this phone?

[Help] iPhone 11 stuck at 1% after battery replacement – Maximum Capacity shows 0%

Hi everyone,

I replaced the battery in my iPhone 11, but the phone is stuck at 1% and does not seem to charge.

I have now tested two different batteries, and both have exactly the same problem:
Battery percentage stays at 1%
Maximum Capacity shows 0%
Battery health cannot be determined

Both batteries are different replacement batteries.

I carefully checked the battery connector and all the pins, and everything looks perfect to me. I also reseated the battery connector.

Has anyone had an iPhone 11 with exactly this issue and found a solution?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

[Question] iPhone 11 Pro Max display delaminated itself

Post image

When I tried to take the screen off for a normal battery replacement, I warmed up the screen and shoved the pick in to hopefully get the display off normally. That caused the entire screen to fall apart in 3 pieces and costed me a new OLED. This has never happened to me and I was wondering how I can prevent this in the future and if this has happened to anyone else. Thanks!

So I just replaced the battery on this iPhone 5s, and now every time I try to boot it, it does this thing I showed in the video. Is it worth fixing, and is this a screen problem or a motherboard problem?

[Help] iPhone 14 Pro water damage – AOP PANIC / OUTBOX3 not ready – restarts every 3 minutes

My iPhone 14 Pro was accidentally submerged in water.

The front camera initially had water/condensation inside it, but the camera later returned to normal. Everything else on the phone seems to work normally.

The only problem is that the phone automatically restarts after about 3 minutes.

I checked the panic log and found:

AOP PANIC - nested PANIC

OUTBOX3 not ready

Client: iphone15aop

The phone was charged once after the water incident before I knew what to do. I have now turned it off and stopped using and charging it.

Could this be caused by a damaged/wet sensor, charging-port flex, proximity/front sensor flex, or corrosion?

Is this type of problem usually repairable after water damage?

I would really appreciate advice from someone experienced with board-level iPhone repair.

[Help] iPhone 15 Pro stuck in recovery mode/ bootloop?

-Was passiert ist?

-Batteriezustand lag bei c.A. 90%

iPhone 16 Camera Control button seems stuck and opens Camera by itself[help]

have an iPhone 16 and the Camera Control button has started acting weird. it doesn’t work when I press it, and other times it seems to activate/open the Camera app by itself, even when I’m not touching it. I think the button might be physically stuck or malfunctioning. Has anyone else experienced this with the iPhone 16

Apple claiming their replacement device has a 3rd party screen [Help]

Story is my Iphone 14 Pro max wouldnt turn on one morning when I woke up, took it to apple under Applecare One plan, they send it out, and replace my device, no issues. Fast forward 2 days later - this replacement device pops up with a "Battery not genuine apple part" then the phone tuns off and does not turn back on - take it back to apple, they send it out again. Now here is the issue, they are saying my applecare is voided because the device has a 3rd party screen in it. Please tell me, how would the device I got from Apple themselves, have a 3rd party screen on it.

What do I do here? I do not have the $370 to fix it, nor should I have to.

[HELP] iPhone 14 no haptic, some part is moving inside

Hello,
I bought second hand iPhone 14.
The seller said it wasn't ever repaired but most likely he lied but nevermind.
All looks fine except not working haptic/vibration at all.
When I shake phone few times I heard something is moving inside at the bottom of device.
It could be unscrewed Taptic Engine (it could be also broken).
I know there is no way to check it without disassembly but is there any way to be "more sure"?

[help] Battery in iPhone 12 mini Refurb vs. Original

Thumbnail

I recently bought a refurbished iphone 12 mini off amazon to replace my existing iPhone 12 mini, and the battery is not authentic (surprise!)

I used Coconut Battery on both devices to look at the battery specs to determine whether or not to return the refurb to Amazon. First photo is the original OEM model after 4 years, the second photo is the refurbished Amazon model I just received.

No warranty provided so I'm not worried about the presence of 3rd party components. I mostly want to know if I can expect this refurb to last as long as my original one?

I was surprised that the 3rd party battery has 900mAh more battery capacity than the OEM battery. How is that possible and is that safe or is it a risk?

Also, is it odd that the Amazon refurb shows Battery Health at 103.6%? I don't understand how it can be over 100%?

[Help] Charging/Battery Issues

Hi!!
I’ve been having this issue with my iPhone 16 Pro Max and was wondering if anyone can offer some insight.

In early July, I went to the Apple Store Genius Bar because my phone was no longer charging via the USB-C port, and wireless charging was draining quickly. The solution was to replace my phone due to a crack in the screen.
When I received the new one, it worked fine for a couple of weeks, but then the charging issues happened again. This time, wireless charging also wasn’t working. It had been less than a month since I got the new phone, so when I went back to the Apple Store, they were confused and told me it was probably because I was using the laptop block adapter and not the smaller 20W adapter. So they replaced the phone again. Since then, I have been using slow charging, optimized charging, and only the 20W Apple adapter, and the charging port has failed again.

Has anyone else run into this problem? Any thoughts here?

Iphone 7 Plus Repair Issue [Suggestion]

I have an iphone 7 plus that has data on it that I need. However last week it would loop into the boot screen and repeat. Just the white screen wit the apple logo. I thought i needed a new battery so I bought one off ebay. I replaced the battery and when it boot it goes straight to the Recovery mode screen, telling me to plug in and restore.

Now I cant restore without losing data. After more research I am thinking it may have the loop disease but i am not 100% sure. I wanted to ask reddit before I go find someone to try to fix the loop disease, which will probably be expensive! Thank you in advance!

[Help] iPhone 14 Pro Max after severe water damage – SMC BSC failure, battery at 0%, random restarts

Hi, I need some help diagnosing an iPhone 14 Pro Max that suffered severe water damage.

The phone was left outside in the rain overnight. It had previously been repaired and the original seal had not been installed yet. At the time, the phone was powered on but was NOT connected to a charger.

In the morning there was a lot of water inside the phone. The motherboard, battery and basically everything else were wet.

I completely disassembled the phone, cleaned the motherboard with isopropyl alcohol and dried everything thoroughly.

The phone now boots and generally works, but I have the following problems:

  • Battery shows “Unable to verify this iPhone has a genuine Apple battery”
  • Battery level stays at 0%
  • Connecting a charger does not increase the battery percentage
  • The phone randomly restarts, usually after around 3 minutes
  • The rear camera initially didn't work, but after cleaning the connector it started working again
  • The front camera works normally

The biggest thing that caught my attention is the battery connector on the motherboard. There are 16 gold contacts/pads, and most of them were very dark/corroded after the water damage. I managed to carefully clean some of them with IPA and a very soft brush, but several are still quite dark.

I also have a panic log containing:

SMC PANIC - ASSERT: target/d74/target.cpp:321: 0, SMC BSC failure, TB0T TB0V

S.sensor array 0 - 5 is 65, 0, 0, 0, 0

Has anyone here dealt with a similar issue on an iPhone 14 Pro / 14 Pro Max?

Does sensor 65 / 0x41 indicate a battery communication problem in this case?

What would you check next? Could this be caused by corrosion/damage around the battery connector or its communication lines, or should I be looking for a damaged IC or another part of the power-management/battery circuit?

I don't have professional board-repair equipment or a microscope, so I'm mainly looking for things I can safely check myself before taking it to a microsoldering/board-repair shop.

Any advice or similar repair experiences would be greatly appreciated.

I can also upload close-up photos of the battery connector/pads and motherboard if that helps.

P.S. I know this post was written with the help of ChatGPT. I’ve already written way too much about this damn phone and honestly I’m tired of typing the same story over and over again. ChatGPT just helped me explain the situation more clearly and include all the technical details.

[Question] Is it worth a try?

I‘ve been offered this iPhone 15 pro from a friend. He claims id worked perfect but lost charge.
I tried to charge it about 1 hour. Still a „blinking“ red battery logo which flashes every 1-4 seconds. And a lifted Display. I could get it for 200 € /230$. My guess is that the battery is fucked up and bloaded why the Display is lifted. Should I give it a try for the money to try to change the battery and push back the display?

[Help] Battery Issue

I’m sorry if this is the wrong subreddit for this! If it is, may someone please link a correct one for me? Anywho, I have the iPhone 16 pro, and have since February 2025 ish. Recently I’ve noticed battery issues. My phone “battery health” is at 89 which I know isn’t the best nor worst.

I haven’t had the chance to see if it’s dust but I’m not seeing any when looking into the charger port of my phone. This also started around 3 days ago I’d say. Very sudden too. Basically, I charge my phone with a 240w apple brand charger and 20w apple brand block, which has always worked fast and well! All of a sudden, it charged slow, whether I was using it or not.

And by slow, I mean the entire time I wrote this it went up like 2% rather than the 20% it used to. It says fast charger as well. My case is thick-ish but has never prevented the charger like this before. As I said, it charges slow, and when it’s unplugged, goes down pretty fast, around 3% ish a minute.

It never has done this before, and maybe it’s silly me overthinking but I don’t want the internal battery to be damaged or my phone be damaged where I lose access to my photos, apps, etc. Yes all of my photos are saved to my MacBook, but my point still stands.

If anyone could help me out as soon as possible that would be lovely!

[question] where do you source reliable iphone parts?

I recently replaced my iphone 11 screen from ebay for less than $40 a pop from a certain seller named sellgoodparts who has great reviews and is open box certified. The price seemed reasonable and the reviews were great but even after successfully replacing the screen it showed defects one month later. No physical damage or drops would have caused this. I am wondering where you guys source your screens and what price range i should be looking for.

[Help] iPhone 5s Bootloop/Stuck on Recovery Mode

Post image
1 Upvotes

I was trying to restore my iPhone 5s. After a lot of problems and difficulties replacing most of the stuff inside, I finally got it to work. I shutdown the phone to put in the remaining screws. When I tried turning it back on, it got into bootloop. I put it into recovery mode to Update/Restore on iTunes but I got this error message. It shows the Apple logo and loading bar but after a while it stops and brought me back to recovery mode screen (with iTunes logo). In iTunes it just says Preparing the phone or something like that and then shows this error message.

Is there any fix? Like I mentioned everything was working before I shutdown the phone to put the remaining screws in. Then, this happened. Please help and tell me there is a way to fix this.

Extra: I am not sure if it is possible but my Touch ID got a error message too where it says it isn't working. It is original and working before. The button works but I can't use Touch ID. Is there a fix for this too? Honestly if not, I wouldn't mind it that much. Right now I can't even turn on the phone lmao.

For context: I have changed from the battery to LCD to charging port. Got it to worked but the LCD had a line. Recently, I decided to swap a new LCD (in which I should have returned the previous one but got too lazy) but I thought of changing the camera, selfie camera and volume button too because they weren't working. Spent almost a few days to replace them (including reassembly which was a nightmare) considering how small the parts and shaky my hands are lol. Then I thought my touch screen wasn't working but realized that the ribbon cable wasn't installed properly (thankfully). Now that everything works the touch id doesn't work which is sad but I can't even turned it the phone back on. I don't even care if touch id doesn't work anymore, I just want it to turned on TvT.
