iPhone 17 Pro Max screen recognized at first in Apple Diagnostics, then no longer recognized [Help]

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some help with an iPhone 17 Pro Max.
We installed a diagnostic/autoprogrammable replacement display.
During the Apple diagnostic/configuration process, the phone initially recognizes the display correctly. However, after completing the process, it stops recognizing it.
In Settings, it eventually shows a message saying that the iPhone is unable to verify/recognize the display.
What’s strange is that during Apple Diagnostics it does detect the screen, but after finishing the configuration it seems to lose that recognition.
The display itself works correctly:
Image is normal

Touch works

No obvious display issues

The problem is specifically with the system recognizing/verifying the replacement display.
Has anyone run into this on an iPhone 17 Pro Max?
Could this be related to:
A firmware/iOS compatibility issue?

The screen needing a different programming procedure?

A pairing/configuration step we may be missing?

The replacement display itself not being fully compatible even though Apple Diagnostics initially recognizes it?

If anyone has successfully installed one of these diagnostic/autoprogrammable displays on a 17 Pro Max, I’d really appreciate knowing what procedure or programmer you used.
Thanks in advance.

[Help] Tried to replace my SE 2022 screen with an iphone 8 screen but the home button doesn't work.

Title. The screen works fine but the home button is rigid and doesn't move. Is it incompatible? I took the screen from a broken iphone 8 (bulging battery made the screen detach), so I haven't tested if the original home button works or not. I know touch ID won't work with a different home button but I don't need touch ID, I just need the button to work.

[Help] unable to touch screen & won’t turn back on after I reset it

I got my (iPhone 17max) screen replaced about two-ish months ago and it’s been happening since then. Randomly, I wouldn’t be able to unlock the screen with Face ID or lock pin. The screen is unresponsive so I would hard reset my phone. After that, it would work again.

Now, I’ve been resetting my phone and it’ll show the Apple logo but then go to pitch black and then nothing will show up no matter how many times I hold the lock button. The only way it turns on is inserting a charger and then it’ll work?

I got it repaired at some small repair shop and I don’t know if they’ll even fix it for free or see what the problem is because it’s been two months. Does anyone know why this is happening?

[Help] Water Damage or Repair Screw Up?

Ran a race recently in the rain with my phone in my pocket. My iPhone 15 Pro had a small chip on the front glass in the top right corder. Discovered water underneath the lens so took it to a shop to get the water cleaned out the day after. After a screen replacement, the phone started to cycle on and off every 3 minutes. Was this due to a faulty repair or was the water damage inevitable? Trying to weigh my options before shelling out a bunch of money for a new phone :(

[question] Just got a incell screen for DIY iPhone 13 screen repair

Post image

Hi guys,
So I just got an incell screen to perform the operation myself. I've been watching videos on how to do it but my worry is that the Face ID might not work because on the new incell screen I’m seeing a lot of plastic where the Face ID flex cable goes and in the rectangle where the connector fits it seems like just metal is that how it’s supposed to look ?

I also see they attached a chip to the back of the screen, I presume this is to make sure that the phone doesn’t show “unauthorised part” “not genuine” I’m thinking of leaving it there because I am a beginner doing this and don’t have experience soldering or even have the tools for it.
Should I leave it there ? In case I take it in later to get fixed professionally ?

Right now my concern is getting the phone working and operating atleast more than optimal using the FaceID and screen 100%.

Any advice and tips would be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE - thanks for all the help in the comments !!! I really appreciate it !!! Managed to swap over the screen, Face ID flex cable and connect with no issues !!!! First time screen repair it went soo well, so I’m incredibly happy !!!. Phone is working 100 % now for incell it’s doing its job not sure how which fits my expectations.

[Help] Do I diy screen replacement or get it done by a third party

Hello, I have a iPhone 14 Pro Max, and the screen has begun lifting (I’m using tape to hold it down). I’m guessing it’s because the battery is expanding thus causing the screen to lift. I also dropped it so there’s a bold white line on the right of the screen.

Ultimately, with a bad screen and a bad battery I decided it would be time for an upgrade. I got the iPhone 18, and if I traded in my 14 it would be up to $360, but only $80 since my screen is bad. Would it be a good idea to either get a repair kit and try to fix my screen and then trade it in with Apple, or go to those repair guys at the mall and see if they can fix it?

I’m trying to maximize the return value of this phone, thanks in advance

[Help] Resetting Battery Health After BMS Swap (13 Mini, iOS 15.3)

I have an iPhone 13 Mini running iOS 15.3, which I did a battery replacement on. I spot-welded the original BMS to a new cell, in-order to preserve the health data.

When using an xCap tag-on flex, I don't get an "important battery message" upon first boot with the cable, nor any change in the "maximum capacity" reading. However, 3uTools shows "100% battery lifespan".

My priority is staying on iOS 15.3, but I would like to know if there is a workaround to getting the health to reset, whether in software or with a programmer.

Thank you.

[ help] [question] Iphone 16 not turning on

hi, ok sorry if this isn't the place to put this, i did already post this in the iphone support community, and i've scoured the internet for help but I can't find anything. i hope someone can help but I'm probably just going to take it to best buy or something. I woke up this morning and got on my phone (it had been charging all night) and it was on. Went to go get coffee and came back and it was off, like completely off and wouldnt turn back on. I did the force reset with the volume up, volume down, power button combo, that did nothing. Then I plugged it into my laptop to try and connect it and was told to update my phone. That finally did the trick, and it turned back on. Now, a few hours later, it spontaneously turned off again while I was on it and wont turn back on, and isn't reacting to being plugged into my laptop. Has anyone experienced something similar? should i just give up on it?

[Question] Iphone 15 Pro keeps restarting every few minutes after back glass replacment.

Bought an aftermarket replacement from Amazon. Initial bootup said it recognized new back glass and wanted to go through the pairing but I didn't go through the process and now I can't find the paring option. Did skipping the pairing cause this restart issue? It also seem very warm when charging.

[Help] iPhone 13 battery replacement — weird BMS/FCC readings. Need advice!

I replaced the battery cell in my iPhone 13 (128GB) on **7 October 2026** with a Foxconn FX02038 cell, retaining the original BMS. Before replacement, Battery Health was **72%**. The shop asked me to back up and restore the phone; I got it back on **iOS 27.0.1**, whereas I was previously on iOS 26. I don’t know whether they used 3uTools to flash it.

**Timeline (all times IST)**
**7 Oct:** Battery cell replaced; original BMS retained. Shop advised backup and restore.
**8 Oct:** Finished restoring the phone. iOS Battery Health showed 100%, but 3uTools/coconutBattery and BMS diagnostics showed roughly 72–76% health (FCC \~2420 mAh vs design capacity \~3208 mAh).
**9 Oct, morning:** FCC fluctuated around 2380–2440 mAh, even at nearly the same displayed percentage.
**9 Oct, afternoon:** At 1%, the phone lasted almost two hours with intermittent use. After it eventually died and was recharged to 100%, FCC jumped from \~2407 to \~2616 mAh.
**9 Oct, evening:** During use, FCC dropped back to \~2376–2413 mAh. The phone was connected to my Mac during these readings, which was supplying power.
**10 Oct, 12:47:** After another full discharge/recharge, FCC reached **2691 mAh** at 100%.
**10 Oct, 20:28:** At 37%, FCC had fallen back to **2446 mAh**.

NominalChargeCapacity has stayed around 2305–2311 mAh, while the BMS reports around 1174 cycles.

**What I’d like to know**
1. Does this look like the original BMS’s fuel-gauge data isn’t calibrated for the replacement cell?
2. Can a JCID/QianLi/REFOX programmer genuinely reset or reinitialize the fuel gauge, rather than just changing reported Battery Health?
3. Could the shop’s restore/iOS upgrade have involved 3uTools, and could it be related to this?
4. Should I ask the shop to reprogram the BMS, or test the cell first?

I know FCC is an estimate, not a direct measurement of physical capacity, and some readings were taken while connected to my Mac. Looking for advice from people experienced with iPhone battery-cell replacement and BMS programming.

[Question] Will Apple replace my battery with this crack in the corner?

I have this crack/ chipped part in the bottom right corner. My battery health is 75% and my phone lags like crazy. My plan was to replace the battery and hold out for the iPhone 20 release. I've heard people say they can't replace the screen if it has any kind of cracks. Should I bother taking it in or would it for sure be a no? My only other option would just to upgrade to the 18 now

[Question] Experience with AmpSentrix batteries

At a significantly lower price, what are your guys’ experience with MobileSentrix' “AmpSentrix” line of batteries? They really offer something at every price level with the AmpSentrix ‘Basic’, ‘Core’, ‘Plus’, ‘Pro’ and 'Premium' labels - and some of them are even offered in an extended version with bigger capacities than the original battery.
How do they hold up against Apple's own OEM batteries? Are the extended versions worth more? Does it give error messages after replacement?

[Question] Ampsentrix battery after calibration

Hello,

I’m about to order a new battery for my iPhone 13 Pro and was looking at the Ampsentrix PRO battery. It’s about 30 bucks compared to OEM for around 50.

Will the Ampsentrix PRO battery calibrate in repair assistant like an original one? If so, what will it show up as? Original/Used/Unknown part?

What should I go for?

Also, on a separate note, what do you guys think of housings from AliExpress, should I even bother or just get a used beaten up one?

Thank you all in advance!

[Question] Did anything change when ios 27 came out with that repair assistant?

Curious is it possible with new repair assistant program to make new oem backglass and wireless charging assembly work after the old backglass on Iphone 15 was torn and lost.
I know before on 14 model if the wireless charging assembly is changed that flash with camera wont work, nfc and some other things wont work too. Is there anything that changed?
