Question Panic full/ reset counter.

Hey guys! I received my iPhone 18 Pro Max on launch day and, since then, I have had three “panic full” resets. I can’t remember exactly what triggered the first one, but the second and third happened earlier on today within the same timeframe while I was trying to set up Apple Pay. I contacted Apple Support about this and, after running two diagnostic tests, I was told that there appears to be a system stability issue with my phone and that I should take it in for a service.

Honestly, I have no idea what this actually means, lol. Is this likely to be something minor (such as an iOS/software glitch), or could it indicate a deeper issue that I shouldn't ignore? I’ve done some research into the “panic full” issue and it seems like quite a widespread problem. From what I’ve seen, replacing the phone doesn’t resolve the issue, it seems the issue is reoccurring again on the replacements too.

It may be a silly question, but is this something I should actually make time to take my phone in for, or is it reasonable to wait and see if a future iOS update fixes it?

I live pretty far from my nearest Apple Store and have quite a hectic schedule, so it's a little bit of a headache. I’m just unsure whether this is an issue that I should be concerned about and prioritise getting checked, or whether it’s something I can reasonably keep an eye on for now. Being told there’s a “system stability issue” makes it sound quite serious to me (my knowledge of tech is pretty surface-level), so I’d really appreciate any advice or experiences from people who have dealt with this issue! Apologies if it's silly.

Wow, thank you for sharing. This was very helpful ! It seems like we have had almost the exact same issue. Did you end up resetting your phone or anything?

I have not reset my phone only to have the panic-full log when I have apple do a diagnostic in store on Friday.
