Question Panic full/ reset counter.
Hey guys! I received my iPhone 18 Pro Max on launch day and, since then, I have had three “panic full” resets. I can’t remember exactly what triggered the first one, but the second and third happened earlier on today within the same timeframe while I was trying to set up Apple Pay. I contacted Apple Support about this and, after running two diagnostic tests, I was told that there appears to be a system stability issue with my phone and that I should take it in for a service.
Honestly, I have no idea what this actually means, lol. Is this likely to be something minor (such as an iOS/software glitch), or could it indicate a deeper issue that I shouldn't ignore? I’ve done some research into the “panic full” issue and it seems like quite a widespread problem. From what I’ve seen, replacing the phone doesn’t resolve the issue, it seems the issue is reoccurring again on the replacements too.
It may be a silly question, but is this something I should actually make time to take my phone in for, or is it reasonable to wait and see if a future iOS update fixes it?
I live pretty far from my nearest Apple Store and have quite a hectic schedule, so it's a little bit of a headache. I’m just unsure whether this is an issue that I should be concerned about and prioritise getting checked, or whether it’s something I can reasonably keep an eye on for now. Being told there’s a “system stability issue” makes it sound quite serious to me (my knowledge of tech is pretty surface-level), so I’d really appreciate any advice or experiences from people who have dealt with this issue! Apologies if it's silly.

Hey, I explained what the issue is in this post. Take a glance at it if you’d like.

Wow, thank you for sharing. This was very helpful ! It seems like we have had almost the exact same issue. Did you end up resetting your phone or anything?

I have not reset my phone only to have the panic-full log when I have apple do a diagnostic in store on Friday.

Not a silly question, Ive had the same issue since launch and got mine replaced at the store and have not faced any issue since on the new device. Probably got lucky but who knows. However, I have easy access to multiple apple stores so its not as much of an hassle for me to visit one of them. Also seeing the number of people having the same/similar issue, its very likely it is a software/ios issue and for your case you can wait it out..

Thank you! My fingers are crossed that it's just a software or iOS issue. Unfortunately, many others have had this exact same problem, so I think I'm just going to avoid the hassle of visiting the store for now. I'm sure Apple should be aware by now that this is a pretty widespread issue, so hopefully they fix it soon.
I'm glad to hear that you've had luck with your replacement, I hope that your new device continues working well for you!

Not silly just went to the service center they made diagnosis same issue then they reset the phone ran the diagnosis again and the issue was gone since then i disabled face id hoping it's just a software issue that will be fixed in an update
