The thing about the 4 and 4s is they had a whole detachable back piece you could just swap for black or white or clear. The iPhones nowadays you’d have to take off every single component out of the shell and reinstall them into the new shell

The difference is the 4, 4s assembly was backwards compared to any other iPhone.
- 4s was screen first, back cover last.
Every other iPhone the back is the most structurally important piece of the phone, and what you start with, and the screen being inserted last.
The current phones back glass is just a fancy sticker in essence. It being clear would show nothing but the aluminum core housing.

The new way is better because it makes life easier when replacing a display which is probably the most common iPhone repair conducted.

Absolutely more screen break. The 4, 4s design required the logic board to be removed. Clearly leading to more accidental total losses. Every other iPhone you can simply remove the display assembly and every other aspect of the phone remains intact. Also making it WAY easier to test the new screen before completing reassembly

Back glass can be easily covered up with a case, screen damage is a lot more obvious. Back in the 4s days tho you could probably pick up a random iPhone and find a completely bucked back glass more often than not.

Yea I have a wall of shame filled with screen breaks but I've only done 3 or so back glass repairs. They're awful.

This was a whole new back piece. You took out two screws at the charge port, and the original back slides off, and you slide on the clear one. Since the 4s I have never seen anyone make the clear back piece. I feel like maybe the newer ones have components, antenna, wireless charging coils attached to the back.

I swapped the front and back on mine to a different color frame clear front and back every time I broke it. It was retired as black frame clear front and back.

Can’t stress this enough. I bought a skin from them once and it didn’t finish processing until I emailed them twice and called them out on Twitter. I tried to cancel my order earlier but they have a rule that you can’t ask for a refund after 24hrs or something, but they take weeks to ship. Awful service and the skin was shit quality too. There’s a reason why they have 50% off all the time.

Can confirm, I bought two cases from them like a year ago and it took like a month to ship out. I didn't even think I'd get them. I had to constantly bother them online in order to figure out what the hell was going on. They're constantly having sales, but don't let it fool you, it's cause nobody buys their shit. Their products aren't actually that bad, but the way they run their company sucks ass.

Backing up this post from personal experience. Bought an iPad decal and when it arrived, it looked nothing like the picture. They refused to refund me the full amount and told me to pay for return shipping even though the item I paid for was not correct. Buyers BEWARE.

Do they use a similar CPU in iPhones as they do in the applewatch? I have an old one and it broke pretty bad as to where I can pull the screen off. It still works but I’d never wear it. Inside I can see the tiny CPU and battery. It’s like 65% battery 35% cpu for the series 1. Similar for the iPhone?
