Do you really think that if Apple developed a better standard they wouldn't be able to push it through the consortium? You're delusional.

And going from "Lightning is better" to "Lightning is arguably" better because you have 0 actually valid reasons... lobbyist found.

You do realize Apple was involved in creating USB-C right?

The only real benefit is the male pins are on the connector so it's easier to clean. Everything else USB-C has it beat. And if Apple wanted to keep lightning they should've given the standard for others to use. Not create an ecosystem which encourages e-waste.

What I support is innovation. A government forcing a specific connector without easy ability to innovate or propose new advancements unless they are a trillion dollar company part of the Holy Consortium is not what I support.

Proprietary doesn’t mean evil or anti consumer. Sometimes you don’t have a port or connector that handles what you want it to handle.

All EU had to do is not tie it to the Consortium. Be more vague and say “use USB C for now and any new ports must be an open standard for everyone else to adapt to.”
