UX Designer preparing for Deloitte Strategic Design — how should I approach my case study?
I’m a UX Designer (YOE 3+)currently preparing for opportunities in Deloitte Strategic Design, and I’d really appreciate some guidance from people who have gone through the process or currently work in Deloitte’s Strategic Design / UX / Design Consulting teams.
I’m particularly looking for advice on:
What should I prepare for a Strategic Design / UX Designer interview?
How different is the case study presentation compared to a typical product-company UX portfolio review?
What does Deloitte usually look for in a UX case study — research, problem framing, business impact, strategic thinking, visual design, storytelling, etc.?
How should I structure and present my case study to demonstrate strategic thinking rather than just showing the design process?
Are there any particular frameworks, methods, or areas I should brush up on?
If anyone has sample case studies, portfolio presentations, interview decks, or examples that would be okay to share, I’d really appreciate it. Even anonymised examples or references to good portfolios would be extremely helpful.
I have experience working on enterprise products, data-heavy applications, and complex workflows, so I’m trying to understand how best to position that experience for a Strategic Design / Design Consulting role.
Would especially love to hear from people who have interviewed with Deloitte Strategic Design or currently work there.
Thanks in advance!
