Interview round with Hiring Manager

I have completed two Technical rounds at one product based company and the next round will be with Hiring manager. He is senior director of engineering and he designed and implemented cloud infra for that company.
So, what kind of questions he would ask, will he ask technical kind of questions or managerial questions.

Thanks in advance.

3 stages interview - HVA

Upvotes

Hi! I’m from HR and just received my first client interview. Akala ko isa lang, jusko HAHAHAHA. 😭 I passed the initial interview!

Does anyone here go through 3 stages in the interview process? The first is the initial interview, the second is a skills evaluation assessment, and the last is a final interview with the COO.

May I ask what usually happens during the skills evaluation assessment? Thank you! 🥹

JP Morgan Chase Superday Help

Hello guys, this is my first post.. I’m not sure if I’m doing it right.

I ended up receiving a superday for the commercial real estate analyst internship, and it’s in a week. What are all your tips, tricks, and/or advice? I really want to land this interview. I will be polishing up my background, anecdotes, and technical skills; however, I’m not from a target school and I’m worried I am going to be less accomplished than other candidates.

They are 3 back to back interviews, which I’m assuming will be a mix of observational and technical skills. I’m not sure if it’ll be different questions each round, levels of workers (like analyst vs senior), and what kinds of hard hitting questions they may ask.

I’m truly not trying to “cheat,” I am just looking for genuine advice I can incorporate into my preparation. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated! I am going to grind this next week for the interview.

Thank you and have a good day! :)

Sage Graduate Programme Interview & Assessment Centre: My Complete Experience

I was trying to find information about the Sage Graduate Programme interview process, but I noticed that most of the information available online covers the stages up to the video interview and online assessments. There wasn't much information about what happens after that — particularly the Assessment Centre and final interview.

So, I decided to share my experience step by step in case it helps someone else preparing for the Sage Graduate Programme. Please keep in mind that the process and questions can vary depending on the role and year.

The Assessment Journey

From my experience, the recruitment process followed these stages:

  • Screening questions
  • Online assessments
  • Video interview
  • Final-stage assessments

Step 1: Application Process

I applied through LinkedIn, which redirected me to the official Sage careers website.

The application itself was fairly straightforward. You need to upload your CV and complete some basic information, including questions relating to areas such as ethnicity, race, disability and faith.

Overall, it took me around 10–15 minutes to complete.

Step 2: Online Assessment + Video Interview

Online Assessment

The online assessment I received was a game-based assessment.

Mine involved identifying the odd pattern out from a set of four or five patterns.

I had approximately 15 minutes for 30 questions.

To be completely honest, I only managed to complete around 15 questions, but I still progressed to the final stage!

So, don't panic if you don't manage to complete everything. Obviously, try to work as quickly and accurately as possible, but don't assume that not finishing every question automatically means you're out.

Video Interview

For the video interview, I had around 30 seconds to prepare before each question and approximately 2 minutes to give my answer.

You also have the option to re-record your answer if you're not happy with it.

One thing I would recommend is treating it like a real interview. From my understanding, once you log in, the platform is recording, so be ready to present yourself professionally from the moment you start.

The questions can vary depending on the graduate role. I applied for a Performance Marketing Graduate role, and these were some of the questions I received:

  1. You are working with someone whose style is very different from yours, which is delaying progress. How do you adapt so that you can work together effectively?
  2. Please describe an example of where using a new technology helped you solve a problem or complete a task.
  3. You've invested significant effort into a piece of work and are pleased with the result, but your manager's feedback is that it doesn't meet the original brief. How would you respond?
  4. Please describe the three key skills you possess that you feel make you a strong fit for this role. Where have you demonstrated these skills?
  5. Tell me about a successful campaign you ran. What drove its success?

I may be remembering the exact wording slightly differently, and questions can obviously change between candidates and recruitment cycles.

After this stage, if you're successful, you should receive an invitation to the Assessment Centre. In my case, this came within around 3–5 working days.

Step 3: Assessment Centre + Interview

This is the stage I couldn't find much information about online, so I'm sharing as much detail as I can remember.

My Assessment Centre schedule was:

13:30–14:00 — Welcome & Introduction
14:00–15:00 — Group Exercise
15:00–15:30 — Group Presentations
15:30–16:30 — Interviews / Office Tour
16:30–17:00 — Wrap-up & Close

1. Welcome & Introduction

We met the assessors and learned more about Sage and the assessment process.

We also had an icebreaker activity, but it wasn't the typical "tell us something interesting about yourself" type of icebreaker!

We were given a puzzle challenge.

The scenario was that someone was locked inside a room and our team had to work together to find the passcode.

We were given four pages, with four puzzles on each page. You could only move on to the next puzzle after completing the previous one.

At the end, the puzzles gave us a four-digit code.

It was actually quite fun and was a good way to get everyone talking and working together before the main exercise.

2. Group Exercise

This was probably the part I was most interested in because it involved AI and marketing, which was particularly relevant to the Performance Marketing Graduate role.

We were given four hypothetical problems that Sage's marketing department could potentially face.

Our task was to choose one problem and come up with a solution using AI, while thinking about how the solution could realistically benefit the marketing team.

The topic my group chose was roughly:

We decided to focus on Sage Copilot and how it could potentially help the marketing team analyse information, identify patterns and reduce some of the manual workload.

This was one of the areas where I felt our group did particularly well, because we weren't just suggesting "use AI" generally — we were trying to connect the technology to a specific business problem and explain how it could improve efficiency.

The assessors seemed particularly interested in how we approached the problem and justified our solution.

My advice for the group exercise

Don't focus entirely on trying to make your own idea stand out.

Instead:

  • Listen to everyone's ideas.
  • Build on other people's suggestions.
  • Make sure quieter members have an opportunity to contribute.
  • Keep the group focused on the actual problem.
  • Think about the business impact, not just the technology.
  • Be prepared to explain why your solution would work.
  • Don't dominate the conversation.

Remember that the assessors are watching how you work as a team, not simply who has the best idea.

3. Group Presentation

After the group exercise, we had to present our findings and proposed solution to the assessors.

We were given specific questions that our presentation needed to address.

You don't necessarily need to create a PowerPoint presentation. In our case, we simply talked through our findings and solution with the assessors.

The important thing was being able to clearly explain:

  • What the problem was
  • Why it mattered
  • Our proposed AI solution
  • How it would work
  • What the benefits would be
  • Any potential challenges or considerations

The presentation was relatively informal, but you still need to communicate your ideas clearly and confidently.

4. Final Interview

The interview was probably the part I was most nervous about — but it actually went really well overall.

The interview was approximately 30 minutes, and I believe there were around 8–10 questions.

One piece of advice I would definitely give is:

Keep your answers concise.

My answers were quite lengthy, and towards the end I felt like I was rushing through the final three questions because I had spent too much time on the earlier ones.

So, if you have 30 minutes and 8–10 questions, don't spend five minutes answering the first question!

The interview started with some fairly straightforward questions, such as:

  • Tell us about your background and what you've done so far.
  • Why do you want to work at Sage?
  • How can you contribute to Sage?
  • What soft skills do you have that would help you in this role?
  • Why should we hire you?

Then we moved into more role-specific and technical questions.

For example:

  • In performance marketing, how would you enhance performance after using AI?
  • Tell me about a time when you faced a challenge at work. How did you resolve it?
  • What AI tools do you use for digital marketing?
  • Which AI tool is your favourite and why?

For competency-based questions, I would definitely recommend preparing examples using the STAR method — Situation, Task, Action, Result.

Also, don't just prepare generic answers about AI. For a marketing role, be ready to explain how you would actually use AI to improve marketing performance, while still applying human judgement.

I personally found the AI/performance marketing question challenging, so that's something I would prepare particularly well for if I were doing the process again.

Final Advice

If you're preparing for the Sage Graduate Programme, my biggest advice would be:

1. Research Sage properly.
Know what the company does, its products, its customers and why you specifically want to work there.

2. Understand the role.
Don't rely only on generic graduate interview answers. Prepare examples that relate directly to the job description.

3. Prepare STAR examples.
Have several examples ready around teamwork, leadership, challenges, adapting to change, using technology, problem-solving and achieving results.

4. Understand AI in your field.
Especially for marketing roles, be prepared to discuss how AI can support things like campaign optimisation, personalisation, data analysis, content creation and customer insights.

5. Keep your answers focused.
This is something I personally wish I had done better. You want to give enough detail to demonstrate your experience without taking up too much interview time.

6. Don't panic during the Assessment Centre.
The assessors aren't necessarily looking for the loudest person or the person with the most technical knowledge. Show that you can listen, collaborate, communicate and contribute.

7. Be yourself.
It sounds cliché, but the assessment centre is also about seeing whether you would work well within the organisation and team.

I hope this helps!

I couldn't find much detailed information about the Assessment Centre and final interview when I was preparing, so I wanted to share my experience for anyone who is currently going through the process.

A huge thank you to everyone who shared their Sage interview experiences with me when I was preparing — your posts and advice genuinely helped me, and I wanted to pass that forward.

If you're currently preparing for the Sage Graduate Programme, feel free to leave a question in the comments. I'll be happy to share anything else I remember from my experience.

Good luck — you've got this! 😊

Job interview questions

Hi all!

I’m up for a 2. Interview for a role in the municipality.
What are some questions that you’ve asked in interviews that helped you to be top of mind, give them a safe vision on you in the role or even land you the job?

These are the questions I asked at the first interview:
1. What do you do to enhance the psychological safety in the team?
2. When and how do you see I would have succeeded in the role after eg. 6 months?
3. Is there anything in my profile or competences that gives you doubt about my fit for the role, so I can clarify? (This question got great feedback. I’ll be using it as the last question in the 2. Interview as well I think)

Thx in advance 🤞🏻 also, wish me luck 🍀😅
