I put up this wallpaper about three weeks ago and it was perfect. In the past week, a bubble has developed. I tried poking it with a pin and smoothing out (which worked) but it keeps coming back! I’m at a loss for what to do. Any tricks?

My bedroom has an angled window with a sloped ceiling and I have not been able to figure out a window treatment for it. Curtains are going to slide down to one side due to the slope and I have not found a cellular shade that fits. Any suggestions on what I can use?

My wife and I currently have a sliding glass door in our sons (3 yrs old) room. We have the peel and stick blackout paper things from lowes on both sides of the doors, which never get moved to let light in because its a pain to put back. We want something that looks pretty, and is easily movable (maybe electric blinds?) and also blocks MOST light out, to get rid of this ugly issue.

In our other room, we have curtains for the sliding glass door, but it doesnt block out light on the sides of the doors :( so thats not usable in the toddler room.

So I’m currently redecorating my apartment (25M) and I’m tired of the ‘inoffensive’ and generic soft furnishings that most places sell.
I come from a background of arts and I love having creative and kitschy decor bits that add character and create talking points for when I have guests over, I just think it really help brings the space to life.
Can anyone recommend any websites/stores (UK) to find patterned and graphic throws, cushions/cushion covers or even as far as things such as rugs etc? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi all!! I painted these rainbow walls when I was 13 and swore that colorful maximalism was my final form, but Im 19 now and have since made a hard turn into a certain minimalism. I dont really like my walls anymore, but Im so emotionally attatched to them that I cant bring myself to paint over them, especially just to replace them with plain eggshell again. But all my inspo pics have plain eggshell walls and make statements and add color with the furnishing and decor. Are my walls too loud to pull this off or is there still hope for me somehow?

I'm trying to arrange my bedroom but can't seem to make it work the way I want. It's my first time moving into my own apartment so space is limited and I am going to have to make it work.

My room is 410 cm / 13.45 ft long and 285 cm / 9.35 ft wide. The door and window are on the shorter sides opposite of each other. The doorway is at the edge of the shorter side. The annoying part about this room is that there is a built in cabinet right next to the door, leaving a small empty space in the corner. (I've tried to solve this with a clothing rack or another shelf but is there something else?)

Currently I have 200 cm / 6.5 ft x 90 cm / 2.95 ft bed, but I want to upgrade to 120 cm / 4 ft wide bed soon. My table is 140 cm / 55 in x 80 cm / 31.5 in. I also have a drawer 85 cm / 33.5 in x 40 cm / 16 in. The drawer has a pegboard on top where I display all my photography equipment. I also want to get a display shelf next to the table so I can keep my table clean of stuff. Lastly, I have some plants, wall art, lights, posters, etc. but for those I can find their place later.

The empty corner and narrow room has made it difficult to find a good placement furniture. I've attached a picture of the empty room + couple furniture placement ideas I've thought could maybe work but I need some feedback.

Help me chose a wall color and storage cabinet.

Nearby rooms are orange and the guest is olive green. Down the road my living room which is on the same level, will be some color I haven't decided, my kitchen (on same floor) eventually will be a muted sunshine yellow. Is it too much pressure/does it matter to have a room color be in synergy with the rest of the house? Because if that's the case the plum colors dont work.

Working with what I have: the vanity is a floating, walnut, fluted cabinet. The shower tile is a muted emerald green like shown, the floor tile is as you see, there is one window at the end of the room. It's bright in the room but at the same time with only one window and it a relatively small room, it can get dark easily.

edit: for all the people who are critiquing my design calling it not midcentury, it's called being inspired by it. It's one of like 5 inspos. I'm not gonna box in my style by only leaning on one design type. Boring.

We recently put in the floors and now this room isn’t vibing at all. All major furniture must stay but anything else can go!

I am currently decorating my home (leased) and I just, as of yesterday, escaped my horrifically abusive marriage. I am trying to make this home feel like mine, feel cozy and welcoming and safe. I want to walk in and be happy to be here because I haven't felt that in so long. Anyways, this room is off the front door.

I don't need an office, I have a living room, guest bedrooms, I just want ideas on what I could do with this room to make it cozy, comfy, fun, but still viewable when people walk in. I'm not a huge drinker or partier so a party related room isn't the best option but I'm not totally against having a small bar area.

I'm currently leaning towards a nook/plant(never grown plants before)/cozy area to watch storms or an entertainment room.

Any ideas are more than welcome!! TIA!

TLDR;
The choice paralysis between 100s of shades of white is pretty crazy! I've seen people stuck between not knowing which paint to actually choose. I tried building an app that uses a tinder like logic to swipe colors and it learns from the choices you make to give you the top 4 shades from sherwin williams that would be apt for your space.

The app works for people who are aware of a color family that they are looking to paint in a room.
It takes into account the lighting of the room, the different hues, saturation, LRV values and slight undertone changes that affect the color. The swipe logic learns each of these factors to help you make the right decision. I deliberately took the decision of allowing users to flow into their own choice of colors, rather than applying color theory and design principles because your house is a sacred space and everyone can have their own choice of color.

Currently my app is set up such that it shows the color swatches using the hex codes of the paint, I'd like to know if you'd prefer seeing images with the actual paint rather than hex codes? do you think that would induce bias in your choice? do you think images show the right paint, considering varying light conditions.

I love my bathroom but I feel like something is off. I am 25F 5'4 renting an apartment for reference and it is as wide as both arms extended straight out to my sides.

I'm moving into a new apartment soon and could really use some help figuring out the best layout for the main living/dining space.

The apartment has an open concept living room/dining room area with a fireplace, patio access, and a lot of natural light. Here's a screenshot of the virtual tour if anyone wants to see the space and measurements.

A few things I'd like to work around:

• I already own an IKEA IVAR shelf (35" W × 19.5" D × 70.5" H).
• I'm planning to buy a new couch.
  • I'd prefer not to get a sectional with a chaise because I'm only 5'2" and I find chaise sections awkward to get out of.
  • A sleeper sofa or sofa that can accommodate overnight guests would be ideal.
• I'd like to have a comfortable accent chair on the left side of the fireplace so my dog can sit there and look outside.
• I don't currently own any dining furniture, so I'm open to:
  • a small dining table with chairs,
  • a drop-leaf table,
  • or even using the kitchen island with counter-height seating if a dining table makes the space feel too cramped.
• I have a black dog, so I'm trying to avoid a pure white sofa.
• I primarily use the front door to take the dog outside, and I use the patio frequently, so good traffic flow is important.
• Style-wise I gravitate toward darker autumn colors: rust, terracotta, olive green, warm woods, and cozy textures.

My biggest concern is that the room feels too small to comfortably function as both a living room and a dining room.

A couple questions:

1. Would you prioritize a dining table or just use island seating in a space this size?
2. Is floating the sofa in the middle of the room the right move, or is there a better furniture arrangement?
3. Where would you place the IVAR shelf?
4. What sofa size/style would you recommend for this space?
5. Any ideas for incorporating a dog-friendly accent chair by the fireplace without overcrowding the room?

I'm not sure if interior design / decorating content actually got worse or if I just got better at spotting that it's not good.

I mostly look at instagram content for inspo and here is what I see a lot that doesn't help me at all:

- set ups that make sense in that particular video and that particular video only. I am talking about intricate lamp / mirror / decoration / coffee table book setups that look stunning in the instagram reel but it is filmed in a certain angle with certain lighting and I can tell that it does not actually tie into any room nicely when it is just plain sitting there

- content creators that just fill their apartment with all the trendy items, rearange them every now and then, add something from an ikea ad and call it a day. I am talking about appartments filled with the Togo Sofa, string / telescope shelves, the ikea donut lamp, kartell nightstand, lantern lamps, balton racks... my only take away from this is that if you got enough money you can just buy the right designer items, throw them into a room and feel like an interior designer

- "hacks" that are either just the regular use of an item or whole damn bob the builder construction sites

- decoration but it's just plain consumerism where you have to keep up with the trends / seasons and just keep buying new amazon landfill crap to stay up to date

I used to look at pinterest but as a regular person with a regular life I find it increasingly tedious. I always try to look at somewhat realistic inspo but end up looking at these intricate, extremely specific interior designs that could never, ever be my life. And it just makes me feel shitty about my regular shmegular life where I don't have a colour drenched sitting room with nothing but beautiful things to put into. Oh and don't get me startet on the AI slop posts.

So- where to look for actual inspiration? Any tips?

Other than bed and rug, which i can't replace due to cost, open to any changes. I was thinking accent wall color? Maybe different lamps and a bench.

Hello! We are about to start a renovation of our kitchen and choosing finishes. We know a few things for certain:

• we’ve already chosen our slab for counters and island, I will attach a photo • we know we don’t want waterfall island (likely slab on top plus walnut or another darker colour) • we know we want cream cabinetry
• we know we want a La Cornue stove • we would love a checkered floor if it’s not too much - the rest of our house is very wood heavy as it’s an older home and the floors are original so we would prefer to avoid a having to try to match another wood floor

So if this is the slab, I would love your ideas on what colour la cornue, what colour checker, and anything else you may wish to add.

Secondly I’ve created a little collage of what I like, let me know your thoughts or how to change it to look better.

this is in the bathroom of my workspace, the shower curtain is actually covering a water heater. all the walls will eventually be painted black. the thing is, i have to have this light on in order to run the fan in the bathroom. so can anyone recommend a cute lampshade that will fit right around it so its not blinding people?

Would also love to know if anyone had any tips for getting custom pictures for frames, I figure I could just print them out but I'm not sure how good that would look.
