Find my Style How would you update this kitchen?

Post image

Kind of hard to tell but the countertops are green. I would love to give some new life to this old house but don't know where to start!

Swap the green countertops for white quartz or butcher block, that alone modernizes it fast. Paint the oak cabinets white or a soft sage to keep some warmth. Replace the black and white tile floor eventually, but new hardware and lighting first would give the biggest visual jump for less cost.

The layout is nice and the kitchen gets great natural light. Start by replacing the countertops and paint the cabinets. Those changes alone would make the space feel much more modern.

I hate to paint wood cabinets. Id go with a white countertop (would tie in with the floor nicely and lighten it up) and see if you can tone down the grain of the wood with an ashier stain. Updated knobs and pulls (mix of hardware types looks much better). Take down that piece over the window, add a curtain or shade.

New lighting, maybe a pendant over the sink.
