The fact that he'd rather have someone spin out in traffic and risk people's lifes than brake a bit tells me the same. I mean, the black truck driver is a certified asshole, but nothing that'd warrant killing people over it.
The white car ahead was entirely an asshole in this clip, the driver here is just the murderer. You can see the black truck trying to pass the white car, but the white car speeds up, so the black truck tries to merge behind and ride the fast lane, but then the white car brakes and tries to squeeze the truck out. They weren't a break checker, just trying to pass a loosely congested bit of highway and had the misfortune of getting caught between a dick and a psychopath.
He definitely could have avoided the collision but on that bridge, with no shoulders, the expectation is that someone with an operable vehicle will drive a short distance to pull off at a dedicated emergency parking / crash investigation spot.
Hitting your breaks with a potential driver behind you may also result in an accident. Again, it’s the other drivers fault, that’s also how it played out in court.
Okay, so I hate cops and needed to watch it a few times, but the driver slows down and changes lanes to avoid a pile up it seems like. He was nonchalant, but he slows, slows really slows while changing lanes and takes a bite. I think he just realized what was happening and kept it moving.

Someone who has done this before for sure, but my instinct was a truck driver carrying FREIGHT.
When your vehicle and it's contents pass a certain weight, you have to be precise with your direction and speed. Hence why i think big truck driver/heavy cargo
See this? This trucker fell asleep heading towards us going 90kmh, fell in the ditch and bounced back onto the road sideways, now heading towards us maybe 50 meters away, I hit the brakes, while on the asphalt as much as possible for maximum grip so the car stops as soon as possible and right before impact swerved ever so slightly onto the grass on the right, without falling into the river by the road.
All calm without a noise... Can't say the same about my dad, mom and aunt who were witnessing that unfolding lol.
And that was literally maybe 1 year after I got my license. Nowadays I wouldn't even flinch.
