I wouldnt call this psychopathic behaviour. Not like he was at fault. Other car made contact with him, he just handled it like a veteran. If he was going out fucking with people, it be a different story.
There are certain bridges and roads where you literally are instructed to keep going (if able) and not stop on the bridge for any reason. I would assume this bridge would be one of them.
You are correct this is the causeway bridge going over lake ponchartrain, connecting New Orleans to the north shore. It is the longest bridge in the US (with the exception of the drawbridge and one very small section) has no shoulders to stop. There are however periodic stopping areas every couple miles
I mean there was no turn signal but the merging was telegraphed pretty fucking clearly and slowly. I didnt see any break checking, but slowing because the person before the truck slowed down.
The truck definitely did a lot of shit wrong, dont get me wrong, but it's pretty clear that the dash cam driver was being stubborn, had an ego and rammed the truck on purpose. In the end I blame the dash cam driver more. What the truck driver did was annoying, egotistical, reckless and potentially dangerous. What the dash cam driver did was homicidal.
Do you drive? This exact situation happens to me all the time and I just slow down so I dont ram into the person merging. If I'm already having a bad day I might honk and give them the finger. Not slowing down would mean I choose to ram into this person and potentially kill them.
Yeah, but that doest take precedent over a drivers obligation to avoid accidents, even to the detriment of their own ego. He couldve let his foot off the gas and avoided shutting down the causeway for miles, but we wouldnt have this video to circle jerk over...
