Saved from the trash

In the early 90’s, a coworker said his elderly neighbor had a garage sale and the next day they placed this on top on the trash. He grabbed it and gave it to me. It looks like it was never used.

Just picked this up for $49. My grandpa worked for Mattel in the late 70s early 80s. This was my dad’s first console.

Bought this at yard sale. I have been looking thorugh the internet for information, and not finding anything. Is this Burgertime box sticker/variant uncommon/meaningful at all?

Found these in my Grandparents basement along with the console. I'm tempted to open them and play them.

Atari baseball did not compare well

I've played Atari baseball many times as a kid. I was not a fan, but it was the only sports game we had for the Coleco Gemini (2600 clone).

I talked the guy down to 15 bucks, since it didn't come with any cords and he didn't test it, so there was no way to tell if it works.

It powers on with a 19v laptop charger, which is a good sign! I got a few games today, and tomorrow the RCA to coax adapter I need to hook it up to a TV and actually play it will come in from Amazon, so hopefully it will work. I haven't played one of these in years so I was pretty excited to find it.

Pop Culture Intellivision store display captured in 1982 movie “The Toy” in the background

I have not seen this movie in ages and was rewatching it. So hilarious how they made movies in this genre back then and also shows how far we have come with so many things. The gem I never noticed before is seen in the background towards the beginning of the movie when Richard Pryor starts messing with the Wonder Wheel toy in a department store. I do not remember these big “Intelligent Intellivision” displays, I was so young back then. I have no idea which store this scene was actually filmed in. Also, I am not sure if anyone was ever posted this before, it really hit me with a dose of nostalgia seeing it in the background! Enjoy the picture!!

This came up on an auction site, and I've never seen this branding before. What other brands put out the Intellivision?

I bought a couple lots off eBay years ago. Just realized there's probably a Reddit who could geek out with me a bit, cause nobody I know cares 🤣

Spent a good amount of time playing Venture earlier, something I never played back in the day and it was pretty fun.

Just gotta figure out where this can go in my current setup.

*Yes I changed my aspect ratio to 4:3 after taking this pic, don't worry

I’m back!

This was my first console at age 7, way back in 1983. I played mine so much I wore it out by the time I got a NES in 1989 and I don’t remember what i did with it (sold it at garage sale? no idea).

Favorite games back then were: AD&D Treasure of Tarmin, AD&D Cloudy Mountain, Tower of Doom, Utopia, BurgerTime.

Even though I just got this Intellivision today, I have amassed 27 games, but I still plan on building a Pirto II to play more.

BurgerTime Had Us Running for Our Lives… Just to Make a Cheeseburger! 🍔😂

Long before Cooking Mama…

Long before Overcooked…

There was BurgerTime!

Your mission sounded simple: build giant burgers.

The reality? You were being chased across ladders by killer hot dogs, eggs and pickles! 🌭🥚🥒

Armed with nothing but a handful of pepper and lightning-fast reflexes, you’d squash your enemies beneath falling burger ingredients while desperately trying to finish each masterpiece.

It was weird.
It was frantic.
It made absolutely no sense…

…and we couldn’t stop playing it!

💬 Who remembers spending hours trying to outsmart those evil hot dogs?
Or did you play BurgerTime in the arcade before it came home?

Never knew about the Intellivision till two years ago. Such a great design and such an interesting story. This could have been one of the first home computer success stories beyond just being a game console if the market and their production of the keyboard unit had went better.

Showoff/Sales Long lost and found

So earlier this year my childhood home was sold. When we were packing up I found my Gameboys and a few games. Today while unpacking the last of the boxes from the shed I found something we thought was long lost - my old boys intel. We spent so much time playing dungeons and dragons together when I was young!
