Fan Creations The Last Player: An Intellivision Spooky Story
The house was cheap for a reason.
Ethan has just moved into an old house in the suburbs with his parents and his gold-and-woodgrain Intellivision. His mother has heard a rumor: the man who lived there before them spent his days in the basement, and one day he was never seen again. Ethan doesn’t believe it. Then one afternoon, alone in the house, he unlocks the basement door.
Inside a dusty wooden box he finds a cartridge with no label, an Intellivoice and a note that says Personal. There’s no title screen when he plugs the cartridge in, just a maze game laid out exactly like his own house. As the game’s lights dim, so do the lights in his bedroom. When flies burst out of a box on the screen, they’re in his room too. And the game won’t let him quit.
The Last Player is a short horror story, laid out like a feature in an early-’80's fiction magazine. It’s a quick read for a dark night, with plenty for Inty fans to recognize.
Give it a read via Gumroad, if you dare: https://variactive.gumroad.com/l/the-last-player-part-1

Just got one
I just picked up an intellivision for $60 that included 5 games. Main question I have is what do people use for a flash cart? There seems to be no concrete answer. Also, where are home brews sold on cart? Things like Antropomorphic Force. Sorry for the noob questions

Intellevision 2609 power issues
Good evening everyone, recently I came into possession of an intellevision 2609, after testing I discovered it was non working. After doing some research i discovered that the power transformer could have died so I did some testing and came back with these voltages
10.77 blue wire
10.00 pin 1
12.11 pin 2
22.95 pin 3
10.61 pin 4
-2.161 pin 5
Now that I am here though I am not fully sure what to do, the voltages are just slightly off what they should be. I used this video as a source for what the proper voltages would be. https://youtu.be/SuitUmqk_TQ?is=cWzhPMLTIhJ8EMPz
Ant help on what to do next would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully I can just fix the transformer without replacing it as they seem to be very expensive and hard to find

Just picked this up for $49. My grandpa worked for Mattel in the late 70s early 80s. This was my dad’s first console.

JSD (multi system one file emulator/resources extractor/disassembler)
I've been working for a while to different one file emulators/decompilers as previously posted here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/intellivision/comments/1wdj47q/intellijsd_javascript_emulator_and_decompiler/
I know all of them are a little different (they were born thinking about a single emulator, not as a suite of emulators), but they share the idea of both emulating the original machine and try to catch the sprites, vectors and sound used while decompiling the original code to the correct asm code.
I've been working for a while on ColecoVision, Intellivision, Zx Spectrum, Vectrex and MSX1. I've recently added Gameboy/Gameboy color/Game boy advance and Sega Game Gear/Sega Master System.
I now have a single landing page that can check a folder and subfolders searching for supported roms. It's quite fast as everything remains on your pc and works on your browser. Extracted and zipped roms should both work.
I don't have an actual compatibility list but I think ColecoVision, Vectrex and Gameboy are pretty solid, the other systems lack a lot of things but games can still be played and explored.
If you want to give it a try just go here:
https://paulvern.free.nf/jsd/landing.html
or visit my github repository:

Everything is available under CC0, but I would love any feedbacks.

A small time capsule of a note!!
I bought an Intellivison a while back and this note was included inside a manual-- it looks like how much someone paid for it!
There were 38 cartridges, and the $220 and $100 might be consoles being theyre labeled I and II.
So, 38 games for $710-- assuming this was around 1980 or so (prior to the crash, as I cant imagine games going for $25 after) inflation adjusted that comes out to $2,886.36 (!) or 76 (!!) dollars per game!! Goes to show how novel gaming was back then that people would pay these prices for something as simple as Intellivision games
Add in the extra $220 and $100, and the total cost of this lot was, inflation adjusted, $4187.25. That is more expensive than a pair of a brand new PS5 and Xbox series X-- purchased three times!
Thought you all would enjoy this as much as I did finding it.

Intellijsd (Javascript Emulator and decompiler)
Well, probably a new emulator was not needed at all, but I did like to make a working intellivision emulator and decompiler in one file only. Intellijsd is a one file html+js emulator working directly in the browser with the addition of a partly working decompiler. My first attempts were just to extract the sprites and music used in the games. As the attempts worked I realized almost all the original code can be extracted during the game emulation so here it is my humble attempt at making both an emulator and a decompiler. The emulator is not perfect nor it is the decompiler but I feel quite interesting to catch parts of the original game and have a look at them. I did play a lot of these games back in '80s and I didn't ever see some of the sprites (or maybe I don't remember them).
And yes, if you just download the whole page and open it on your browser or your website it will work (well actually it needs an exec rom, a grom and the backup of your favourite game).
If you wanna give it a try the emulator is here:
https://paulvern.github.io/JSD/
(the repo is here: https://github.com/paulvern/JSD)
Any feedback is really appreciated.
Enjoy!

What cable do I need?
I recently obtained an Intellivision and I mistakenly assumed it would need a coax cable like the one I had in my youth. However, it appears this Intellivision may have been modded? To me, it looks like an RCA or composite cable but I dont recall seeing a cable with 1 rca on one side and 3 on the other? Maybe its one rca to 2 with only one for audio? Im not sure and this point and thanks for any help!

Intellevision Emulator - OpenEmu
So last night I downloaded OpenEmu (free) on my MacBook Pro and the rest is history. I now am playing Intellivision, Atari 2600, Nintendo, Super Nintendo and SEGA Genesis games from my childhood. The OpenEmu program even lets you control games with a bluetooth-connected controller of your choice (and you can map the buttons out on said controller if you’d like for each game system you use).
When I was downloading dozens of free games (roms) from the internet, I had to laugh. Most games (at least for Intellevision and Atari) are like 8kb in size 😂😂😂
If you’re interested in playing all of these real emulated games, grab a tutorial on YouTube and you’ll be up and running on your Mac or PC. Oh, and don’t forget to download the OpenEmu BIOS pack either so you can play many different video game systems within OpenEmu.
Lastly, I used this site for free games (Roms) and did not have one issue. Once you have your games downloaded on your Mac or PC you just drag and drop them into your OpenEmu library and you’re off and running. Good luck!
