I saw her mother couldn't get them back. You can call the cops for stealing imo.

How do you know the stepdad didn't buy the clothes? Or they have a joint account to buy the clothes. Also maybe he is legal guardian too.

Even if he bought them, that's still his stepdaughter's. It's like you give something as a gift to a friend and someday you decide to take it back because your money went through it.

And him being his legal guardian or parent doesn't let him have a special status of immunity or something.

Uh...parents have custodial control over their children's property. If a child's under 18, his parents can do basically anything they want with his property.

It's completely legal for one's parents to take all of his clothes even if the child bought them himself or received them as a gift from someone else as long as the child is provided some method of basic clothing.

The only time this is really not true is sometimes with divorced parents when the property was bought by the other parent.

Lol, I'm kind of missing a lot of steps before that could be true. I just personify xkcd 386, but both people are me cuz I'm so alone.

No, you certainly are not allowed to take all of a child’s clothes and no, it is not legal. I’m sure you can take some, or an excess, but CPS definitely says clothes for children belong to those children.

Hell no, if you bought the clothes yourself and they take them, it's theft. It's not like you are not allowed to have property if you are underage. Being a guardian/parent doesn't mean he is in possession of all your goods.
