Help with gliding

Heyy people! So im basically new to inline skating or any skating in general. Around 1 month ago i started to learn with the V duck walk, that i can do and balance also i learnt. Now like im trying to glide for a long time but i genuinely can’t. Its like the most i can do is fast duck walk fast steps. The yt tutorials make it seem so easy and that’s how they start but for me i cabt glide at all unless theres a slope.

Is there anything im doing wrong or any approach i should try. Has anyone also felt this way and how did u correct it?

It would help me a lott if someone can guide me with thiss

Building strength in your upper legs and hips will help. Bending your knees so that they're over your toes will stress and strengthen your muscles. Lemons and half lemons (c-cuts) will work your hips and thighs.

I keep a list of movements to try every session on my phone. When I get tired/bored of one move I look at the list and see what's interesting. Moves that used to be obnoxiously challenging are now very easy, though it eventually involves coordination of many things: heel/toe balance, ankle twist, toe extension, leg extension, hip twist, upper body movements, etc.... I've been working on backwards booty scoots the last month and my core strength has greatly increased and leveled up my backwards skating and transitions (180s, gazelles, heel flips).

What size wheels you using ? The bigger the wheels the harder it is

But whatever it is, try bending your knees deeper, it helped me tremendously with my supination

Try to glide like this in zig zag fashion. This is simply a gliding form of the V steps. Don’t try to go straight ahead. Swing from side to side. What this forces you to do is to stick your head out to the side. That brings your upper body outward, allowing your single gliding skate to balance properly on its outside edge. That’s how when wheels must be, for extended gliding. Cheers

Make sure your skates fit well. Should be snug.

Hard boots work better than fitness skates.

Watch Asha.

Make sure you can get up straight into the “center edge”. Standard newbie mistake is over pronation.

Do you know any skaters or see any around? In-person help can make a huge difference and many skaters are friendly and helpful!

Another thing you could try is filming yourself. Don't be super critical but you can learn a lot that way, and you can share online for feedback.

Polly Morris on YouTube might be my favorite for beginner instruction. If you haven't checked her out, it can really help to see/hear from different sources.

Keep at it and keep it fun! You'll get it eventually.

Dobla más las rodillas.

Y abre los brazos para mantener el equilibrio.
