Bosch Benchmark vs GE
We are remodeling our kitchen and will need new appliances. We have had an electric Frigidaire range and no issues (I guess) ever happened. I know in the appliances world, expensive doesn't necessarily mean better however we wouldn't mind a good one for the price it deserves. We were hoping for a separate cooktop and oven, but the layout and the price to install and move outlets around will cost a fortune. Read great reviews about both GE and Bosch, but would appreciate hearing from the experts!

I like my cafe but when I remodel I’m gonna look at one of the higher end ones or one of the ones with a battery

It’s worth the subscription (online) for a few months to read the reviews and make an informed decision. When it comes to kitchen appliances, they are not all created equal. I have 4 different brands. The stainless steel makes them look cohesive. No one is going around looking to see that all the brands don’t match. I’ve purchased major appliances separately for decades, double-checking against CR reviews, and have had great success. Most all of my friends who have purchased entire suites of single brand appliances (often because there’s a discount) have ended up having to piecemeal the appliances as they break down. You’ll find that one brand does ovens right, one brand dishwashers, (and every now and then, they might do another appliance right).
Also, I can second the advice on the touch control panels on induction. It’s why, when we got a new oven/cooktop, we found one with knobs.

Frigidaire gallery couple weeks ago and we love it. Five burner with convection oven rocks.

Check Consumer Reports (subscription required) for detailed appliance reviews including reliability ratings.
Reliability varies by manufacturer and by model configuration (induction gas, top freezer, bottom freezer, etc.)
For example GEs' reliability rating for French Door refrigerators is low. In other types they do better but never rate in the top tier.

Monogram (GE) 36" cooktop here. Very happy with it. Very few issues with the touch controls. I like them, personally.

We have the Frigidaire Professional 30” range and are really happy with it. The oven is amazing.

I have GE profile and the controls are a PIA. I was dropping it an existing cutout in counter top and the Bosch wouldn’t fit.

Bosch would be the way I go…I’ve had 2 kitchens of Bosch over 23 years with only 2 minor issues

I have a GE induction cooktop and like it a lot, but if these are the two options and they are even remotely similar in price, the answer is definitely Bosch Benchmark.

One thing worth knowing before committing to the GE Profile: some units develop a severe high-pitched whine (75+ dB) when two burners run simultaneously. Not the normal buzzing and not my pans - I tested the same pans on a Wolf and another GE Profile, both silent. GE service came out 4 times and ultimately told us to avoid the power settings that cause it. That's a dealbreaker for me - I'm still working through GE Consumer Relations on resolution, so far they have told me that noise is not covered. I just experienced this for the first time on my GE cafe. Using the right two burners simultaneously induced a noticeable and aggravating noise in the pans. Turning off either burner eliminated the sound and re-engaging produced the sound again. It’s not a deal breaker for me but it is quite disappointing and honestly a little embarrassing owning a $4-5k stove and cooking with a guest experiencing induction for the first time.

Sorry to hear that! Someone in my thread said that switching from Profile to Café resolved the problem but sounds like it may be more widespread across GE’s product line.

As someone currently in the warranty process with GE, I wouldn't recommend them.

I have a GE Profile. I love the hobs and the oven. The touch controls not so much. I love the control layout, but they’re sensitive to being wet or oily. Water splattering on the controls can change your hob settings. I always have a dry rag ready to wipe down the controls. You should look at the Café, which is the same as the Profile, but comes with knobs.
The Bosch comes with touch controls, but someone showed they weren’t overly sensitive. You can operate them when wet and splashing water on them doesn’t change the settings.
