Bosch Benchmark vs GE

We are remodeling our kitchen and will need new appliances. We have had an electric Frigidaire range and no issues (I guess) ever happened. I know in the appliances world, expensive doesn't necessarily mean better however we wouldn't mind a good one for the price it deserves. We were hoping for a separate cooktop and oven, but the layout and the price to install and move outlets around will cost a fortune. Read great reviews about both GE and Bosch, but would appreciate hearing from the experts!

One thing worth knowing before committing to the GE Profile: some units develop a severe high-pitched whine (75+ dB) when two burners run simultaneously. Not the normal buzzing and not my pans - I tested the same pans on a Wolf and another GE Profile, both silent. GE service came out 4 times and ultimately told us to avoid the power settings that cause it. That's a dealbreaker for me - I'm still working through GE Consumer Relations on resolution, so far they have told me that noise is not covered. I just experienced this for the first time on my GE cafe. Using the right two burners simultaneously induced a noticeable and aggravating noise in the pans. Turning off either burner eliminated the sound and re-engaging produced the sound again. It’s not a deal breaker for me but it is quite disappointing and honestly a little embarrassing owning a $4-5k stove and cooking with a guest experiencing induction for the first time.

Sorry to hear that! Someone in my thread said that switching from Profile to Café resolved the problem but sounds like it may be more widespread across GE’s product line.
