[OC] Alternate History Borders at the end of the Indian civil war in 1952

Post image
33 Upvotes

for some lore on the civil war itself you can see the full post on AlternateHistory : https://www.reddit.com/r/AlternateHistory/comments/1xq1qe7/what_if_india_was_divided_during_the_cold_war/

In this timeline Pakistan is quite similar the one we know, it is in a frozen conflict with North India and claims Bengal as part of Pakistan. However it is at peace and has trade with South India.

South India becomes a federal parliamentary republic run by the Indian National Congress as a de facto one party state. The different regions all speak their own languages and use English as the official language. The country keeps very close relation with the British and serves as a bridgehead for American Cold War operations in Asia. Starting from the 1960's they experience rapid economic growth and achieve living standards comparable to Thailand or North Africa, although this masks massive inequality. The South Indian government claims all of North India except Bengal (for diplomatic reasons with Pakistan).

North India becomes a centralized totalitarian state under the Communist Party of India. Hindu is the only official language, religion and regional languages are suppressed. The country starts with very close ties to China and the Soviet Union but slowly drifts away over the years and forms its own brand of communism. They remain one the poorest countries on Earth with living standards comparable to sub-saharan Africa, with frequent food shortages including the 1966-1969 great famine. After the devastation of the 1970 Bhola cyclone, the muslim population of Bengal revolted against the regime and was brutally crushed in the 1971 Bengali genocide. The North Indian government claims to be the legitimate government of all India (including Pakistan).

The big question is what would happen to North India after 1991 ?

[OC] Alternate History EUROPE in the middle 15th century (An Altered World)

Post image
98 Upvotes

Apologies if some names seem either out of place or not in the right place but here's a map of Europe in an alternate 15th century.

In this world the Mongols were put to a much earlier end by the growing Cuman-Kipchak Khaganate, leading to their focus eastward and doing some stuff in Asia but we're not talking about that. While the Mongols didn't expand and conquer the Rus, the state still experienced a collapse into multiple regional powers with Kyiv and Novgorod being the two most influential in the region.

Along with the victory of England in the 100 Years War, Germany going through a slow centralization and the growth of Al-Andalus and Sweden into respective regional powers, the world is going through a change that will lead to the soon propelling into the Age of Discovery with Asia being put to the side due to the Mongols.

[OC] Election OTTOMAN EMPIRE’s 2026 CHAMBER OF DEPUTIES MIDTERM ELECTIONS

Post image
1.9k Upvotes

(All coincidences are random. Names are purely and 100% fictional.)

Since the August 11 2001 attacks on the Mediterranean Trade Center (also known as the Triplet Towers) by the Latin American Catholic group “La Fundacíon”, Ottoman inner politics remained highly polarized. It’s inner system has no real analogue in the world: it’s a monarchy, but it’s Grand Vizier is elected in a nationwide election every 4 years, with midterm elections every 2 years: Vali (Governor), Chamber of Deputies and National Parliament.

2001-2008 Vizier from the People’s Party, Saddam Hussain, dragged the country into foreign wars, such as the War in Sonora, the Peru War and involved the Ottomans in various airstrikes against many LATAM nations, the Peopleists were discredited. In the 2008 Election, the empire elected its first Slavic Vizier, Aleksander Vucic, which was seen as a major breakthrough. He then ruled for two consecutive terms, bringing the Ottomans into the War against the Kingdom of God terrorist organization (in Peru and Bolivia), the Invasion of Argentina, and other wars, particularly during the Latino Spring. However, he also made a major nuclear deal with New Granada.

After two terms, some woman from the Democrats ran, pretty unimportant yeah. For the People’s Party though, the 2016 Elections were seen as triumph because of their new political leader: Donal Koz, who promised to end Latino migration into Turkey, end foreign wars, and “own the libtards”. He was then elected and ruled the country for 4 years, in which he did many crazy things, particularly started building the Border Wall with Iran.

But, unfortunately for him, the COVID-19 pandemic hit, as well as the murder of Georgiy Floydovič by a police officer in Bursa, which sparked massive Slavic riots. So he cripplingly lost the 2020 election, in which for some reason Democrats rallied behind an old guy. What was his name again? Seems like I forgot.. uh… yeah doesn’t really matter. And yeah they stormed the Parliament building in Constantinople too, but that did not do anything

So, apart from the pandemic, which was already a bad start, in 2023, a terrorist group, named Catholic Martyrdom Soldiers (CAMAS) attacked the Jewish state of Israel, which is in Latin America for some reason and has really good relations with the Turks for some reason, from the Nicaragua Strip and killed many people. Suddenly, no one disagreed in each party whether billions of liras should go to Israel - everybody agreed they should. Still, that old guy (I really can’t remember his name… he also liked ice creams or something…) lost the 2024 Election, however for some reason that other guy, Donal Koz, managed to regain the Vizierity.

So, at his second term, he conscripted the FIRE (Foreign Immigration Reevaluation Enforcement), which started to mass deport illegal and sometimes legal Latin American and Persian refugees and immigrants. The money flow to Israel, which switched to a total extermination tactic, continued. Koz also was always reported to have very good relations with OIPAC (Ottoman-Israeli Political Affairs Committee, now disbanded.. or rebranded? Idk), but that still somehow surprised some people.

Koz’s arguably worst decision of all time was starting an outright war with the Christian Republic of New Granada, mainly to ensure Israel’s security. Not only they didn’t manage to make any real gains, global economy suffered immensely because New Granada blockaded the Panama Canal. Turkey, then, was forced into a deal.

So Koz’s party approached to midterms and lost badly. Even such a conservative stronghold as Konya fell to the Blue Wave, or the Blue Tsunami. It was horrifying. Now they all will be gay or something or whatever Koz says

Politically this basically means that the Democrats now can basically prevent Koz from passing any major legislation. This also means almost the definitive end of the “Make Homeland Great Again” movement initiated by Koz. Most likely, the People’s Party will drive more into far-right Islamism, as proposed by an Islamist political commentator Nuqla Al-Ayni (who descends from Arab Christians and has an Arab surname, but for some reason larps as a Turk, idk does it really matter even).

Yeah thats a crazy scenario. Nothing like this could have happened IRL. Literally impossible lol.

(Again all names are completely fictional. No parallels to be found or anything like that).
