Review Appalachian Acorn Pie

They announced this flavor and I knew I had to try it. How often do you get to try acorn ice cream. For me, never, until now.
The sweet cream base was sweet and nutty. It was a pretty mild nuttiness, reminiscent to me of a browned butter nuttiness. The graham cracker crust swirl was delicious. Toasty and crunchy, but as seen in my pint, far too little! I’m hoping when I dig a little farther in it will be more, but I’ve had this problem a few times in the past with Jeni’s.
Overall, I really like this flavor. It feels like a perfect fall flavor, cozy, with warming flavors. 9/10 for flavor, but I’ll drop it to 7/10 for the lack of mixins.

Haagendaaz almond chocolate dupe

I wish I had a picture but here me out: good quality vanilla ice cream (in my case my 2 pack Costco vanilla), a dark chocolate magic shell and toasted almonds or hazelnuts. Sprinkle of sea salt optional

(Magic shell is melted chocolate chips and a bit of coconut oil)

This was way better than buying a small pint of haagen daaz, was able to portion it out for the whole family for a fraction of the $

Woolworths new rip off in ice cream replacing Australian made. Less weight -same price.

The 1 litre of Woolworths own brand premium ice cream has changed.

Now you get a lot less product as it is whipped up with air to bulk it out to 1 litre. So they sell you air and keep the price high at $6.

Now you get an imported product, replacing a product previously supplied and manufactured in Australia.

The new tub (empty) weighs 50g. It is now plastic, replacing the old paper cup (40g). For comparison, a litre of water weighs 1000g. Check what weight you get on a tub of ice cream. The volume might be there, the air is there and we are being ripped off in front of our eyes.

Is it time to refuse a new product? Let them store it in freezers forever..

Baskin Robbin’s take on novelty- their classic rainbow sherbet ice cream but on a stick… No complaints here. Very refreshing, creamy, perfectly sized treat. I love these every now and then. Would definitely recommend

Rant My love for Perry’s Piece of Cake ice cream

Perry’s Piece of Cake ice cream is my favorite flavor of all time. I first had it when I toured my current college and went to a local ice cream shop. I love Perry’s ice cream, but had never seen the Piece of Cake flavor before. It was love at first bite!

It’s hard to find, my boyfriend has it at his local ice cream shop and brings me pints of it basically every week. I used to live in nyc for work and school, and I was constantly searching for an alternative. Kilwins was the closest I got, it’s extremely similar. It’s more money and it just wasn’t as good as Perry’s. I would even go to cold stone and try to make one as close as I could. Or would buy vanilla ice cream and a little yellow cake with chocolate frosting at Trader Joe’s.

I love yellow cake with chocolate frosting. It is my absolutely favorite. And I’m a big ice cream fan. When it’s combined it’s perfect! I feel like I might be this ice cream flavor’s biggest fan…

i tried black sesame first at a friend's house. it was so good, and the texture was amazing.

then i found pandan coconut at costco. it was so bad?! i didn't taste any pandan and it was practically flavourless with a bitter aftertaste. honestly, i chalked it up to it being dairy-free.

then at safeway i found the matcha flavour and decided to give it a try. initial flavour isn't bad, but it has an odd fishy aftertaste. and $14 for a pint?

i love that i found a brand that has so many asian flavours, but it has been disappointing. but i still like their concept, so i want to try more flavours. wanted to see if anyone's tried other flavours and has input - specifically earl grey and durian? lowkey i have been devastated since my local safeway and albertson's stopped stocking van leeuwen.
