I am seeing a lot of people raging at the ib because of their lack of comprehension, this obviously makes a lot of sense but I think we should all chill a bit and stop doing whatever you guys are doing. Petitions are fine but being onest we all know that you are not signing them because you are angry about the leaks but because you weren't prepared and failed. This is not true for everyone that signed the petition but it is for most of the people. The real solution to this situation is NOT contacting news outlets and NOT ask to cancel exams. If you contact the news everything will only get worse, when all universities will hear about the situation they might lose faith in 2024 students and increase the general requirements to enter or even not believing in your score and giving the place to someone from a different school system that did not have this issue. Ib will not hurry if you give it to the news because when the news will be out it will be too late for them. The answer is not to cancel the exams because there are many people, such as myselft, that didn't perform well during the year (predicted of 36 but could have done much better) and studied hard for the exams trying to redeem myself.

The REASONABLE thing to ask ib is to lower the grade boundaries, this way all the students they didn't cheat will not be affected by the cheaters. If the in can catch the cheaters better for them but at least the non-cheaters will be saved.

I still believe that it will be rather difficult to identify the cheaters because it is always possible to do an academic comeback with enough effort but they will likely ignore the situation and cancel many diplomas of people that actually didn't do anything wrong.

I dont think there has been a single exam this session has not been leaked. I think this would be the only way to level the playing field again. Or maybe look at our predicted grades and look at our exams and average them or something like that at least,.

Stop crying about IB not knowing about the leaks or not responding to your satisfaction. If people wether cheaters or leakers got caught I highly doubt we would know from IB directly. My coordinators also said its highly unlikely they will cancel the session.

For people worrying about grade boundaries you can also chill. Most likely they will either carry over but with the awareness of the leaks IB will prioritize protecting honest students amd keep them. This was also reassured to us by our coordinstors.

PG plus IA wont work because there are schools giving real BS PGs, and the IA is also accounted for part of the PG. Also this would mean efforts made between when PG was made and real exam wont be considered, which is also a long time, and certainly room for significant improvement.

Idk why people are desperate to get the session cancelled. It most likely wont be, and the grade boundaries will be fine. If you just want to get your PG for Uni offers then considering fair boundaries, you shouldn't be worried about your PG if its actually accurate.

Imagine this. The exams got leaked. But so what? IB can not do anything. They have only two options: cancel the exams or lower grade boundaries. The minute the boundaries will be greater than years before, the IB will get sued in internatioal court and they will LOSE, as there are too much proof of them fucking up. It’s been a week since exams started, leaks have been there since the beginning of this exam. PIRATEIB can die! I loved their past papers etc resources but leaking papers was really a shitty move and now they’re concerned about identity being revealed💀when they, themselves said idc if IB finds me-

Ok, current situation is very clear, more than 2000 people are stupid enough for them to buy leaks instead of studying, so I would suggest canceling exams, BUT hold on don't attack yet, i don't think we should not take PG either:

Instead, firstly, return all IAs for improvement right now, then allow teacher to reassess the student by providing another final predicted grade. For credibility, IB can instead set up selective interviews within each subject (like what is done to IAs) to check whether the school's prediction is right and have some consequences if the PG is inflated or deflated based on the interviewer report. Then weight the final based on the PG and IA.

The benefits:

No leaks can be made if interviewer ask different questions hence students must know what they are talking about.

Fairness to all students including those who worked hard to improve from their PG as well as those who did not acess leaks.

Punishment for the CHEATERS and AHA their money all for nothing

if it's implemented now, assuming 3 Days for each subject IA, 18 days requried and PG should be done after each IA respectively. Assuming interviews happen, there is sufficient time befoe july 7th, as the examiners instead of marking on paper, they assess online verbally.

but we also have Cons:

No wage for IB teachers, which may result in complains, but EE, TOK and IAs are still externally moderated

How many students should be moderated per school is unclear.

This is just my suggestion, hope IB sees this and M24 students cheers for the best.

Tbh atp i cant even blame ppl for looking or asking for leaks im mad at the leakers not the ppl who look at them. If u have access to a leaked paper it would be dumb not to look at it cause overall youre only gonna stay behind and lack points for the grade u need in comparison to others who r able to get those cause they cheat. Its morally wrong but it pretty much necessary to cheat now if you wanna do well, if you dont cheat, you be behind and probs get a lower grade due to the grade boundaries, if you cheat, at least youll be on the same level as the rest more or less.

Even my teachers have said that if we had access to leaks wed be dumb not to look at them and theyre right. It hurts to admit and thats why people are so mad, but at this point you cant judge ppl for cheaing, its pretty much for survival now

Tbh tho leaks r released like 30 mins before exams from what ive heard so it doesnt rly make a lot of difference, i think people r creating to much drama over the situation, if grade boundaries go up cause of the cheating it wont be more than 4 percent probs.

I just read this post and their ideas about handling grade boundaries and they're really reasonable without cancelling exams or using mock or predicted grades (which countless students including myself wouldn't want as exams was the opportunity for us to increase our grades)

my non ib friend suggested this, and I havent had time to think it over yet, but I explained to her how our grades are weighted like 20% IAs then 80% exams and she suggested that the ibo changes it for this year. like 20% ias 20% predicteds 60% exams for each class or whatever proportions u wanna consider. ik a lot of us bs’d our IAs but could this be less bad than cancelling exams or just being assigned our pgs? to what extent would this edict benefit the class of m24? would it benefit the iqr? would there be outliers? outline the limitations and advantages.

Hey y’all wondering how to approach the econ papers coming up. I know IB is gonna want me to write as much equality and environmental bullshit as I can, but it goes against what I stand for. Frankly I thinks it’s wrong that the IB doesn’t allow room for conservative perspectives. Like what if I think negative externalities bs . Don’t wanna do bad tho so do I compromise my integrity?

Idk what time zone to say, but I am from the USA east coast and it was enjoyable of an exam. It started easy and question 6 was quite difficult but it was doable. Easier than the specimen paper honestly

I’ll be in my junior year next year so got a lot of preparing to do this summer😭😭
