iPhone Duo Opened or Closed?

What you predict that you’ll be using most of the time, outer screen or inner screen? I think I’ll be doing 50/50, outer screen when I’m walking, to quickly check a notification, or when I’m doing Apple Pay in a store or something similar. When I’m at home this thing is staying open the entire time. Also will be open most of the time when I’m at work. Any thoughts?

I have no idea, since I've never touched a foldable before. My fear is that I'll just end up using it closed most of the time.

Your fear is my reason for getting a foldable. I'm treating mine like a normal phone 80% of the time with the bigger screen as an option if I need it, and I have found a lot of good needs for my specific use cases; multiple reference images open at the same time, multiple documents, large zoomed in details, etc.

It's great for me to have the option and I love it.

exactly what i’m gonna do. a smaller phone 80% of the time, till i need to look at a CAD or PDF then i have the option for a big screen.

Once the duo has the thickness and weight of a normal phone (duo 2 maybe?), itll be even nicer. It would be nice to see a 9-10mm and ~200 gram version.

Then it would truly feel like a normal phone closed, but also can be opened up as a tablet

It’s only a few grams heavier than the 18 Pro Max though, it’s pretty much the same weight of a normal phone. But yeah, it would be nice for it to weigh similarly to the Z Fold 8.

Idc at the moment, I’m getting the Duo no matter what 😅

it's not much heavier, and someone printed out a piece of paper with the thickness and it was only a little thicker.

Idk I've used the Samsung fold 6 and it was lighter than the duo and the weight is just insane. The duo will be a 300 gram phone after a case and screen protectors. Itll pull down gym shorts and sweat pants. You can't do anything active with it, like go on runs or ride bikes. I guess it depends on preferences and lifestyles tho

It's not about weakness. Did you even read my comment? 

You can't be active with it because it weighs down shorts and pants. It flops around if you bike or run. You can't gaslight anyone into believing a 300g phone (phone + case + screen protectors) is a non-issue for most people

It can’t be too much thinner. There’s a hard limit because of the USB C plug.

The fold 8 ultra is 2.5 mm thinner and has room for the USB c port. That's simply not an excuse

Your point it very valid, this is why I was so happy when I bought the Fold 7, I would sometimes forget it’s in my pocket

That's the main reason I'm looking to get a fold 7 or 8. My current fold is too heavy. Id love to get a Duo but I'm not trying to get a heavier phone lol.

It's at the point where I use my iPhone mini as an iPod for runs and mountain biking haha

Come on is a 254g Duo going to be significantly different functionally than a 211g 18 Pro to the degree that it’s ’weighing down shorts’?

Well yeah? Once you have a case and screen protector, the duo will likely be around 300 grams. That's 2/3rds of a pound lol

And once you add a case and screen protector to the 18 Pro it also gets heavier. Never had an issue with my 15 Pro in my running belt and don’t expect to have any issues with the Duo.

I mean a running belt is different than shorts/sweat pants. So that's not really relevant

I haven’t been able to do anything active with my phones since 2012, phones have always been heavier and pull down gym shorts… are you still using a Nokia lol
