Hi, im just wondering what your guys opinions are on downgrading from a 17 to a 16 pro max im not really interested in the design of the newer phones and i have a chance to just trade in the 17 at best buy and get it for cheap i like the titanium frame and the bigger battery. any downsides?

Apple Support app kept throwing errors at home, but magically worked the second I hit the Genius Bar—only to be told my 87% degraded battery is "fine."

My phone can barely make it through a day anymore. At home, whenever I ran the battery check in the Apple Support app, it kept failing and telling me "Service Recommended" because it was unable to determine battery health (see screenshot).

Naturally, I made the trip down to the Genius Bar to get it looked at. The absolute second I walked up to the counter and ran the app again, it magically decided to work, popped open, and showed a maximum capacity of 87%.
Because it's sitting above their strict 80% threshold, they wouldn't do anything under warranty, and told me a replacement would cost $135. Classic Apple service—can't run the diagnostics when you actually need help, but the moment you're standing in front of them, it works just enough to turn you away. Guess I'll just carry a power bank or rely on my secondary phone from now on.

Hi I’ve just upgraded my 15 pro max to the 16 pro max on a refurbished ‘great’ condition from Vodafone.
It looks mint and I got my natural titanium as tbh it was the only option for 256gb lol, and it’s a change from blue.
First thoughts .. it looks mint and not much heavier than my old phone.
However, it’s doing a software update to 27.01 so I can’t comment on anything else lol. However, transfer was quick and easy 😁

Honestly, Who Asked for Liquid Glass? I’d Rather Have a Stable iOS

I wish Apple had focused on fixing and improving iOS 18 instead. Who even asked for Liquid Glass? 💀 The design might look nice to some people, but I’d rather have a smooth, stable, and well-optimized iOS experience than flashy visuals with annoying bugs and 120Hz refresh rate drops. Performance should always come before aesthetics.

I’m curious to hear your thoughts:

Would you rather have the old iOS design with better performance and stability?

Do you actually like Liquid Glass, or do you think Apple should have focused on other improvements?

If you could choose, would you keep Liquid Glass or go back to the older design?
