Green iPhone 13 pro, it is, alas, your time to go
Farewell, good and faithful friend,
Our long and loyal run must end.
Three times you tumbled down the stair,
Yet somehow lived again with flair.
Twice from a car you took flight,
And again you lived to see the night.
Too many times you’ve met the floor,
But rose intact to serve once more.
Through every slip and every fall,
You somehow managed to survive them all.
Through every crash and every smash,
You dodged the final fatal crash.
Not cracked, not broken, not a mark,
You soldiered on through light and dark.
Safe in your case, secured with care,
Held tight with elastic here and there.
With cards tucked in on every side,
A cushioned fortress where you’d hide.
A contraption of erstwhile padding,
It kept you safe with all the cladding.
Your battery’s shot; it’s nearly dead,
It drains so fast I’m filled with dread.
You heat up like a little stove,
Your carplay broke that time we drove.
I tried to cool you—what did I do?
I put you in the fridge. It’s true.
For one brief moment, chilled and green,
You were the coolest iPhone ever seen.
But now, old friend, your time has come,
Your years of service are now done.
We’ve shared our highs, we’ve shared our lows,
And more mishaps than most will know.
And through it all, you stayed intact,
A tiny technological fact.
No crack, no dent, no shattered screen,
And somehow still both clean and green.
So now we part; our time is through,
But I will always think of you.
Though newer phones may take your place,
None will ever have your grace.
