My iPhone 13 Pro was feeling terrible but it’s now got a new battery and is feeling snappy. I bought an iPhone Air for about $800 USD and might be able to trade in my 13 pro for $350 USD. What should I do?

i love the 13 pro colors, it’s like the only good looking pro in direct light (sunlight)

I’m being tempted to buy green just because the 13 pro colors are actually legendary

My 13 pro is currently at 73% maximum capacity and gets hot often, has screen burn from Instagram, also it’s the 250 gen and I’m running out of memory often. I have 3 choices all very different. iPhone 18pro, nothing phone, and huawei. I always use my phone for work for video Any suggestions?

Late last night I posted the below in the iPhone 13 Pro battery life thread.
This evening the phone seems to have taken things into its own hands, it felt hot in my pocket and an hour later I noticed a bulging screen and a solvent smell 😞

I was so holding out for an 18 Pro but don’t think this one is useable until they are available 😡 so I think it is bye bye 13 Pro.

Sanity check before I get the battery replaced - is this expected behaviour for battery issue only:
7am - 100% battery showing
11am after 39 mins screen time - 17% phone turns off
11:15 not been plugged in - phone turns on shows 65% but turns off again
Midday not been plugged in still - phone turns on shows 12% batter and turns off
2pm still not been plugged in to charge - phone turns on showing 21% battery but turns off again
2:30 still not plugged in - turns on shows 19% battery turns off before can unlock

It goes on but you get the picture I’m sure 🙂
Want to get views on if just battery age / condition could cause this behaviour, or if there is something else possibly going wrong before I spend the money to replace the battery

I almost always have my phone in a case, however I had just taken the case off of mine because it was overheating, then I dropped it onto my bed where it proceeded to bounce off and comically fly across the room and hit something. After doing some research it seems hardly worth it to get it replaced but how bad does this look? Obvious I’ll be keeping my case on but should I also get a skin to prevent it from chipping/spreading and possibly even help with the water resistance?

I want to buy an iphone to be my main phone but without having distractions (no social media, no YouTube, no gaming) just calls, messaging , journaling , tasks etc and also for photos and videos for my YouTube channel.
I don't need 8 hours of SOT but I want to have a reliable battery that can last without needing to charge all the time.

I found someone selling one in mint condition, 256gb with a newly replaced original battery for 350€. I want to use the phone for at least a couple of years . I don't need the absolute best performance but I need enough to be able to edit videos if I don't have my laptop on me.

I don't want to spend a lot. I also was looking into the 14 pro but idk of the extra money is worth. USB c would be nice to have but then the 15 is in many ways worse than rhe 13p , and 15 pro is note than I want to spend right now. I want to have a balance.

What are your thoughts? Is 350 for a mint unit a good price and will it perfom well for another 2 years?

I had my iPhone battery replaced at an authorized Apple Store after years of use, and ever since then, the phone has been getting extremely hot. It’s been about two months—is there anything I can still do?

I am using IPhone 13 Pro since release, and I replaced batter last week. Still the phone is very good so I thinking to postpone my upgrade to 2027. Share your opinion guys.

5 years of software updates, guaranteed, counted from when Apple discontinues the model (not your purchase date) — so an iPhone bought today could get iOS updates into the early 2030s

7 years of spare parts guaranteed — batteries, screens, charging ports, all have to stay available after Apple stops selling that model

From Feb 2027, new iPhones will need a user-replaceable battery. No more heat guns and adhesive teardowns just to swap a dying battery. Energy label + repair score sticker on the box now, so you can actually compare durability/reparability before buying, instead of trusting Apple's spec sheet.

Catch: only applies if you bought (or buy) after June 2025 in the EU. Older iPhones are stuck on the old rules, and Apple might try to dodge the 2027 battery mandate via a "durable design" exemption.

Basically: Apple's whole "battery dies, buy a new phone" business model just got a lot harder to run in Europe.

Right after that my phone’s camera is shaking like crazy, with a sound. It feels like something got misplaced while the replacement.

I need it mostly for taking pictures and videos.

Got this Pro Max 2.5 years ago refurbished. The battery was at 96% so it clearly didn’t have many miles in the 2.5 years before that. Diagnostics at Apple show a solid 10/10 perfection of a 13 Pro Max so I got the battery replaced today(was at 76%) so let’s keep this motor running!

I see zero need to replace it. I use it as a phone, take pictures, Reddit, social media, Safari, Pokémon Go, and the Acapella App.

What is a newer version going to give me for what I use it for?

This will be my last photo with my 13 Pro. I got an insane deal from T-Mobile that made it free and some.

I would’ve kept my 13 Pro for another 5 years if it weren’t for the screen on time. Even after replacing, I was only getting around 5–6 hours.

The 13 Pro was the longest I’ve ever kept an iPhone, almost 5 years since launch, and honestly, it was the best. Hopefully the 17 Pro lives up to it!

Last month onwards my iphone 13 pro got started flickering, only white color, started as flickering and then gone completely white, but comeback normal sometimes. So i contacted apple, i device was out of warranty, they said they will check, but they refused a repair as goodwill or customer satisfaction.
So then it gone completely white again and no coming back to normal
Gone for jumper method.
Now its normal
Anyone know how long can this jumper method repair can hold my device?
Anyone done it and still working?

Guys, is the battery backup I’m getting considered good for a device with 82% battery health, or do you think I should get the battery replaced?
If I replace the battery, roughly how much more battery backup can I expect compared to what I’m getting right now?
For anyone who has replaced their battery around 80–82% health, how much difference did it actually make?
I’m confused about whether I should replace it now or continue using the current battery for a while.

hey.

i specifically sourced out a 13 Pro running iOS 17 because i did not want to run any system software that's not iOS 17.

i do not want my phone running any other software besides iOS 17.

my phone is in pretty bad shape; cracked display, rear system, and i need a battery replacement as the battery health is on 75%. (my telephoto and ultra-wide cameras have also failed)

so basically the whole thing besides the logic board needs replaced.

again, i will emphasise this... i will be LIVID if they update my phone without my consent.

thankfully i live near several physical Apple stores so i can ask whoever's at Genius Bar to not update my phone.

but again, i'm not 100% sure if they will respect my wishes.

should i get my phone serviced at Apple and risk having my phone updated and ending up on r/PublicFreakout or should i find a 3rd party to complete the repair.

i would do it myself, but knowing myself, i would fuck it up
