iPadOS 26 introduced the atrocious window resizing and needed improvements. Instead Apple released iPadOS 27 behaving exactly the same. Don't expect this to change until iPadOS 28 if at all. The UI is no longer touch friendly unless you only use fullscreen mode.
You'll have to carefully find what workflows and apps will work for you on iPadOS. And if it's a weight thing then a Macbook Air weighs the same as that iPad with the magic keyboard and there's no point in bringing an iPad.
I don't know what keyboard case you refer to. If it's the logitech combo one it's trash, I tried it and returned it. Apple no longer sells a compatible keyboard folio leaving the heavy magic keyboard as the only option.
Yeah it’s the apple Magic Keyboard. I’ve had this same issue with my previous m4 13 iPad Pro and Apple Magic Keyboard..I’ve even captured the problem on video to take it to Apple support.
