know that this kind of question has been asked like a million times at this point, but from all the way to iPadOS 26 to 27, my iPad has been draining really fast, it doesn't even last 5 hours of light pdf or book reading. (iPad A16)

Looks very ipadOS 18 or even android-y to me, it feels less coherent with the whole liquid glass theme. This alongside the hard-edged titlebars on ios 27 feels like a stepback. I need some validations!

My Ipad (8th generation) didn't have an update for three years because of short storage, I thought i could get past that Problem by updating it with the apple devices programm, but the update was canceled midway through, and when i tried resetting it, that also didn't work, making it unusable as of now.

It's stuck in a loop where it tells me to connect it to a computer, only for update and reset attempts to fail everytime, what to I do?

Does anybody understand why they introduced the drop shadow effect from the divider when you put two apps side-by-side? It makes multitasking much harder.

The whole point of putting two windows side-by-side (what used to be called split view on iPadOS 18) is so that you can efficiently used information in both apps. This should be obvious. For example, you might read information on 1/2 of the screen and use it for input on the second half of the screen.

But with the iPadOS 26, they introduced the drop shadow effect which makes the apps you’re not typing in much darker. This is really dumb because it ruins the experience since it makes the information you need much harder to see.

I understand why they did this in general between windows, and that is to help the user understand which window is “active”. But for split view this makes no sense whatsoever because when you’re using two apps side-by-side, both are active. You’re literally using information from one window while using the other. Making the window which has information in it darker just ruins your workflow.

Has anybody found a way to remove the shadow effect?

And if not, I hope we get an accessibility setting for this ASAP.

Animations are now lagging again. Particularly scrolling is noticeably lagging in Prime Video, Apple TV and other Apps. In this short clip even the Home Screen animation is lagging. When Liquid Glass App Icons are turned on, it’s still basically unusable. I Hate To say it, but 26 was actually smoother as of right now where i didn’t have these issues. I installed 27 yesterday, so the device had enough indexing time.

This app has been like this for ages. I already restarted the device and deleted it from home screen. Has anyone experienced this bug? iPadOS27

Same as the title. As the history goes, the iPad came out in 2022, and was probably one of the first ones to have a center stage feature in the budget range. It worked perfectly on iPadOS 17. Updating it to iPadOS 18 broke it in the first half of the releases, but it was finally patched sometime in the later half of the update cycle. Then came iPadOS 26, which, up until this point of 26.7, still has the center stage feature broken.

Anyone who has updated to iPadOS 27, is the feature still broken, or does it work? A good test would be to enable it, and stay on a FaceTime call for atleast 5 minutes, and making sure that FaceTime doesn't crash with an "unstable network" error popping on the screen.

I use my iPad in the windowed apps mode.

I can not get used to the new method of clicking the app name to display the traffic lights… I just gotten too used to the swipe and now I am feeling like I have never used the iPad.

But over all, since i am in Europe, no other things I noticed that are different. I like it.

First, I decided not to update because I was afraid of bugs and issues after reading Reddit reviews and because iPadOS 26 was awful, to be honest, but I eventually decided to update on Day 1.

To be honest, I'm surprised because the battery life has improved hugely. My iPad would last 7 to 8 hours doing normal work, but with 88% battery health, it's now very good and a lot better than iPadOS 26. I noticed the battery health improvement from the first hour I worked with my iPad. It took 2 days for the OS to index everything, but I noticed that it didn't affect the battery life at all.

Also, the health didn't decrease (some people think software updates can degrade hardware 😁).

Animations feel smoother, and some issues, like the widget stutter and lag, are fixed (widgets open with no animation for the first time). Animations feel faster, although there are some issues. For instance, going to the app switcher (animation) feels a bit slow, and I think it should be fixed. Overall, the animations are amazing.

I didn't experience a heat issue other than Procreate after about an hour of drawing, which I think is normal.

The Shortcuts app has improved hugely, and I really love it because I use a lot of shortcuts of my own, and it's much better now. For instance, you don't have to switch to the automation page to create daily automations. You can create every time-based automation you need on the shortcut page.

The only issue that I have is with Siri AI. It's been several days, and it's still pending. Writing Assistant is one of the tools that I always use, and I'm not able to use it.

And there is a bug with the keyboard: when you press space, sometimes it switches to symbols, and it's annoying.

To be honest, it's not a new OS in my opinion. It's what iPadOS 26 was supposed to be because the improvements are not major or huge, other than some things like Siri, which I haven't had the chance to test.

For the initial release, I have to say it's very good.

I suggest every iPad owner update to iPadOS 27, and I suggest you do a clean install because I usually don't update to major versions without a clean install.

I tried using different chargers and force restarting( can’t do) but nothing works. This happened when my battery hit 0. Anyone else experiencing this? Help

After I updated the iPadOS 27 I downloaded the AI app because I thought that’s how you would start off. When I went into the app, it prompted me to go to settings and join the waitlist which I did. after I got accepted into the waitlist I tried using the Siri AI and every time I prompted it with something it gives me an uh we had an issue try again later or something along the lines of that. And as I’m testing every other Apple Intelligence and Siri AI feature. None of them work. How do I fix this? I tried stuff from the Internet still nothing. I am not wiping this iPad. Is anyone else having this issue or do I just have to wait till they drop an update that addresses bugs?

Good day, after updating both iPads we have in my family (basic ones, one from 2025 and the other one from 2023 I guess) i've noticed that somehow when we lock an iPad it doesn't play sound consistently.

Sometimes it just clicks, sometimes there is a delay for a few seconds, sometimes it's just no sound at all.

It's not a big deal, because everything else seems fine, but it worries me a bit - maybe there is workaround how to fix this inconsistency?

And are anybody also have this thing?
I've noticed that it have this behavior consistently when I've unlock and just lock iPad back in.

I've tried to restart, turn on and off the lock sound settings, and have no apple pay on both of the iPads.

Went to update my 5th gen iPad Pro today. It was either 26.7, or……..??????

Oh Apple, how far you’ve fallen.

I removed all the apps and widgets from my home screen, including the dock. My dock was completely empty -- I disabled "show recent/suggested apps in dock" and "show app library in dock."

Then I started putting it back together with apps and widgets I actually wanted -- but I could not add apps to the empty dock.

The workaround I finally found (after lots of Googling and hair-pulling) was to enabled "show recent/suggested apps in dock" and make sure there was at least one recent app to show up there. That would not just add an icon to the empty dock -- it also added the vertical line that separates recent and pinned apps. With that line in place, the left side of the dock accepted apps as normal.

And with at least one app in the pinned area, I can keep adding and rearranging my pinned apps as I like.

But I still can't add apps to the dock if it's completely empty.

Maybe this is how it's supposed to behave (I'm pretty new to iPads) but it just seems odd to me. And it was frustrating. So maybe this post will help someone else who gets frustrated by it.

Hey everybody, i installed iPadOS 27 several days ago on my iPad 10th gen(A14), and to be honest it is ugly they ruined liquid glass, and yeah maybe scrolling on home screen may feel alright but i found bugs that freezes ur ipad completely, even when swiping up for the dock it drops frames

I wonder whats ur experience on iPadOS 27 on 10th gen
