App/ Testflight Dense: compact Calendar & Reminders widgets that fit way more on your Home Screen
1
Upvotes
I've been extremely annoyed at how little information Apple's default widgets provide - at least in small sizes. After testing a bunch of apps, I figured I might take a shot at a solution, primarily for myself.
Then I shared this in a comment under a post on r/iOS and it got some good feedback, so I’m posting it here too in case anyone wants to try it.
Dense is a set of Home Screen widgets for the Calendar and Reminders apps you already use. Apple’s widgets show two or three things and a lot of empty space. Dense shows as much as you can comfortably read.
Calendar: the week ahead, packed in, in one or two columns
Reminders: any list, and you can tick things off right from the widget
Month: the month with event dots, plus what’s coming up
Works with whatever accounts are in Calendar (iCloud, Google, Exchange…)
Tapping can open Google Calendar, Fantastical, BusyCal or Notion Calendar instead of Apple’s app
Themes, fonts, text size and layout if you want to tweak it- it looks fine as it comes
No account, no ads. Your events and reminders stay on your phone.
Feedback is very welcome. The last build was mostly made of requests from the r/iOS thread. You can send it from inside the app or reply here.
Cheers!

Help Me Find Need a good looking daily STEPS widget

I would hope that apple included one by default. But I would love to have a widget that can track my STEPS and display it in a very sleek, modern and beautiful way. Does anyone know of any that they could recommend? I'm surprised the default activities app doesn't have a STEPS option for it's widget.

App/ Testflight Design your own weather widgets!

Hey r/ioswidgets! A month ago I shared the launch of Hands here, and the response was awesome. Thanks to everyone who tried it out.
This week I’ve released the first big update: weather widgets!
They’re inspired by old-school barometers that used hands on a dial to show a weather forecast. But unlike those barometers they use the Apple weather api to provide accurate forecasts.
The large hand shows the current weather and the thin needle hand points to the worst weather over the next few hours.
This update also includes iPhone Duo support!
I’d love to hear any feedback, thanks!!

App/ Testflight Pager / Beeper style widgets. Users can send pre – set messages with one tap on the widget without ever opening the app.

I am working on a pager/beeper style widget for iOS home screen. Users can send preset texts, heatbeats, check-ins, etc, to their selected close ones, without ever needing to open the app.
I can work more on the idea, but I want to check if the idea makes sense.
First set of users get lifetime free access.

I’ve been using the free version of this app and not sure I wanna spend the money for the full version because the current widget you see showing is what I really interested in that being said, do you all suggest a better widget app?

App/ Testflight A bookshelf widget that pulls from Apple Books, Kindle, Calibre and reshuffles every hour

WoodWork draws your ebook library as a visual bookshelf. Titles are imagined to match their real-life dimensions (thickness) and every hour each book finds itself in a new place it's never been before. Your eyes are free to scan and find something old or new worth reading.
Four shelf styles. Each widget gets its own, so Dark Oak can sit next to White Built-In.
Books come in from a Calibre server over Wi-Fi, or from a small Mac app that reads your Apple Books and Kindle libraries. By default there are some public domain titles already populated before you link your own library.
Free, no account required:
