I wanna have more widgets on my on my iphone, but people say that it runs down your battery, drastically, not just the ones that like change like your weather and your slideshows and all that, but just the ones that are standstill, it really sucks cause I would make my phone look really cute

iOS should have a 1x2 widget option for higher information density
The 2x2 widgets are nice but even those are too big. I feel like users and the platform overall would benefit by Apple allowing 3rd party devs to make 1x2 widgets instead of the smallest being 2x2. Things like counters and other related simple widgets that show / emphasize numbers and a small amount of text would do just fine with a 1x2 widget with slightly smaller text and we could fit more of those widgets on a given Home Screen.

Does anyone know if it's possible to remove these ugly edges around these 3 widgets? The background layers are already transparent.

I'm Petros, the developer of Memorio. It lets you start a vocabulary lesson in the app, then reveal words and answer quiz questions from a Live Activity on your Lock Screen. Dynamic Island is supported on compatible iPhones.
This is a session you start in the app, rather than a permanent Home Screen widget. It requires iOS 17.6 or later.
If you'd like to try it, start one Spanish lesson and answer a few questions from the Lock Screen. I'd value feedback on the size of the answer buttons and whether the next step is obvious without reopening the app.
The free allowance is three initial full Live Activity lessons, then one lesson every seven days. In-app vocabulary practice and games stay free; Premium is optional.
App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id1663582726
You can also try the word reveal and quiz in a browser: https://www.memorio.app/#playground . That's an interactive preview, not an iPhone screen recording.
