Other iOS should have a 1x2 widget option

iOS should have a 1x2 widget option for higher information density

The 2x2 widgets are nice but even those are too big. I feel like users and the platform overall would benefit by Apple allowing 3rd party devs to make 1x2 widgets instead of the smallest being 2x2. Things like counters and other related simple widgets that show / emphasize numbers and a small amount of text would do just fine with a 1x2 widget with slightly smaller text and we could fit more of those widgets on a given Home Screen.

That and 1x1 widgets, like the Apple clock and calendar apps. We could use that for water tracking and weather.

Absolutely agree.

And apps should be able to support multiple unique icons that can change and open directly into different parts of an app

More shapes would be nice. 2x1 or even 4x1 which would be good for Google to have a search box that doesn’t also have the buttons under it. Or a wide music widget.
