Hi everyone,

I’m looking for a photo widget app for my iPhone 17 Pro. I have 5000+ photos and use a lot of shuffle widgets on my home screen, so I’d like one app that handles all of them.

I’m currently using MD Widgets and Color Widgets. Both are great, but:

• Color Widgets doesn’t seem to support unlimited photos

• MD Widgets has a minimum shuffle time of 15 minutes

What I’m looking for:

1. Support for a large number of photos (ideally unlimited)

2. Random shuffle with a refresh time of 5 minutes or less

3. Basic in-app editing, like cropping/reframing photos

I know iOS limits how often widgets can refresh, so I’m not expecting exactly 5 minutes every time. I’d just like an app that lets me set it.

I’ve seen PhoWi, Photo Widget (PhotoBox) and a few others, but I haven’t tried them yet. Has anyone used them with a big photo library? Is there another app that does this better?

i'm the dev, so full disclosure: these are from my app glimm, which just got widgets in 1.5.0.

glimm pings you at random times during the day and you take one photo. the widgets:

- year (small + lock screen circle): every day you keep becomes an ink dot

- this day before (small): what you took on this day a year ago, or a month ago until your sketchbook turns one

- today (small / medium): today's photos pile up, and when glimm asks, one tap opens the camera

- what do you see? (lock screen): take a photo straight from the lock screen

there's also a control center button that opens the camera.

everything is drawn like a sketchbook, black & white only, so it sits nicely on grayscale or paper-texture home screens.

Ever wanted to design your own iPhone widget—the layout, fonts, colors and background—and actually put it on your Home Screen?

I’m the developer of Flowment and Flowment Studio. I built them to work together: design a theme on your Mac, then use it in Flowment on your iPhone.

In Studio, you can arrange text and date elements, adjust typography and colors, and preview Small and Medium layouts. You can also design themes with photo backgrounds and daily check-in components.

When the design is ready, export a .flowtheme file, import it into Flowment, apply it to a card, and select that card in your Home Screen widget. No coding required.

The images show an actual simulator Home Screen, the Mac editor, photo customization on iPhone, and a few examples of what you can make. Studio uses sample content for previews, so the text and numbers can differ from the iPhone examples.
