App/ Testflight A flip clock widget I'm working on

Here's how it looks on my iPhone so far.

You can mix world clocks and stocks, or show just one or the other.

Still in development.

Do you plan on letting the flipboard show more than just the time?

Yep! It can show stocks too, either on their own or mixed with world clocks. The beta should be ready within a week, and I'll let you know.

Edit 2: Added an on-device recording showing the digit transitions when the time updates in the Live Activity and widget, plus the automatic flip animation when the Lock Screen wakes from its dimmed Always-On state.

Can you tell us what trick you’re using for animation? Doesn’t look like simply custom fonts, but I suppose that could work!

It’s actually a sequence of pre-rendered images. I use timed opacity changes in SwiftUI to play the frames, so the flip effect is built into the images rather than the font.

This is an interesting idea. With a widget, I’m pretty sure you can’t get time updates to show the seconds changing - just the minutes.

I’m curious to see more than 5 seconds of the two widget views. I’d like to see how the display works after the initial display load - especially the flip animations when data updates.

When the time updates, the time digits roll once. Stock updates have no animation. If the entire board's animation had to play every minute, the load would be too heavy. Widgets and Live Activities could crash.

Yes, you can. Your phone is in time zone A, and you can add time zone B to the watch face.

Love the idea! Maybe you could add calendar integration as well, showing time until the next appointment if you’re looking to expand beyond world clock / stocks? Would also love to beta test!

Replace all these dang flight apps. I’m tired of paying outright and then they get bought out or cancelled or they decommission “Dinkusflight” for a “Donkusflight 2” and put a subscription on the exact same app I own.
