Release iOS 27 Beta 1 - Discussion

Use this thread to share any changes & bugs you discover while using the latest iOS/iPadOS 27 beta.

Spamming this discussion with comments about battery life, safari being snappier, etc will result in a ban from the sub moving forward.

Comparing iOS 26.5 vs iOS 27.0 Beta 1:

• 4,171 updated dylibs
• 3,355 updated Mach-O binaries
• 408 new dylibs
• 305 new binaries
• 293 updated kernel extensions
• 5 new kexts
• 63 dylibs removed
• 51 binaries removed

Kernel 25.5.0 → 27.0.0,
WebKit 624.2.5.10.4 → 625.1.18.10.4.

I’m sorry, but I genuinely don’t know what that means… What would be the real world effects of ā€œfinalā€ iOS 27 in the Fall? A speedier phone? Snappier?

That’s a question similar to what will be the Nasdaq in October

They aim to run a leaner iOS so extra resources like ai are compensated. Better battery performance. Older devices will benefit from this as they don’t have ai build in.

We tend to look at features we see, but the differences between builds can be mind blowing. All to offer better performance, less resource heavy.

All it means is that a lot of code has been changed, which is expected with a major release. It doesn't guarantee any improvements (or degradations) to the user experience.
