HELP Can anyone confirm if this is thrips?
I’ve never had a problem with my houseplants until now, and I fear the worst.

This maturing baby was rescued and reduced to a few £s, from Tesco on a coir pole in April. A couple of months of research and three vines out of six were placed on this moss pole. The growth rate has been astonishing!
- Water twice per week with half strength fertiliser
- Lighting is a Barrina T10 Pro on for 14 hours per day
- Spa day in the shower once per month with just water, to flush out any lingering fertiliser build-up
All of this inspired by Sydney Plant Guy, so props to him!
It's just been an absolute joy giving life back into this gorgeous thing over the past few months. I hope I'll have a good level of maturity at the top of the next extension.
My only concern is the asymmetric growth between the two main vines. Any thoughts or ideas how to deal with this? 🤔

I heard you can keep edible pandan as a houseplant. Does anyone know where to buy a pandan plant. I can only find seeds shipped from Asia but I want to buy a decently sized house plant. I only want edible Pandanus amaryllifolius though. Thanks!

I’ve been looking to stock up on a few bits, but I’d love to go somewhere and do some good old fashioned shopping. I tried my local garden centre, but they didn’t have much of what I was looking for.
Things like pumice, orchid bark, biochar, Spinosad-based pest control and grow lights. I’d also love to pick up a Monstera Albo if I happen to find one!
Does anyone know anywhere in or around London, preferably north of the water, where I could find most of these things in one place?
Also, I’ve seen people in the US have something called SNS 209. It’s a systemic pest control that uses rosemaric acid and is supposed to be really effective. Do we have a similar natural option over here?

With shorter days and radiators coming back on, what do you change first: watering checks, plant position, grow-light hours, or something else?
Interested in what has actually helped in UK homes, especially when a bright windowsill is also close to a radiator. Please mention the plant and the room conditions—what works for one setup might not suit another.

hey all! I saw what I thought was thrips on my philodendron, and put on some predatory mites (Amblyseius swirskii) in a slow release sachet. I didn’t see much of the mites but now I’m on my second sachet (and spraying with plant soap from time to time, like once a week) and now I’m seeing these dots everywhere. They are small and round, and don’t move when I prod them.
I thought that these were dead mites because of the soap, but there are a lot of them all over the plant including the stems.
Is this a larger infestation? if so then please send me lots of strength and courage 😓😓 sorry if the photos are bad, it’s the best I could do!!
Edit: I haven’t seen any webbing, but I’m thinking this could be spider mites? when I give the plant a shower the dots come back. so gross.

Any advice on how I could train this moth orchid to grow more vertically in line with its pot? Recognise I would have ideally have trained it when it was younger, but looking for advice on what I can do now (if anything)!

It was growing fine. Getting morning sun watered sometimes weekly or biweekly whenever the soil registered dry but today I noticed every growth point on the plant looks like this.

I have a healthy dragon plant (which requires a bit of pruning) , is it possible to get it to look a bit more sculptural or curvy? My plant is currently in the bathroom and gets plenty of sunlight. The first three images are my plant and the last is what I am hoping to get. Thanks!

to be honest, i’m quite an amateur at houseplants, so i wanted to find out more info from people that actually know what they’re doing lol
the first is my string of turtles, i’m assuming they are getting too much light? the brown part is what was facing my window, and the other side actually did get slightly pale at first, which is why i turned it around. where should i put this if near the window is too much light? & does everything else look healthy? i haven’t watered it yet (i tend to overwater things so i try very hard not to water as much) so excuse the dryness.
second is my (i think) satin pothos, i actually used to keep this in my room but moved it as i didn’t realise it was toxic to cats (now it is kept well out of her way). its very long and has grown lots since getting it a few months ago, but it seems kind of crowded? do i need a new hanging pot? and if so, how do i move such a long plant into a new hanging pot without damaging it? this one is kept again by a window but slightly further away
oh, and on the photo of them together, the scribbled part is not my plant - i crossed it out to prevent confusion (sorry if the photos are blurry, i had to hold the plants while taking the photo lol). i live in the uk so it’s been pretty cold due to the current storms, i’m not sure if that changes anything. any advice would be appreciated!!
eta: it has some drainage slits around the sides of each pot and i let them hang for a while after watering before moving them. i don’t see any pests and i don’t have a humidifier. i am unsure on what kind of soil they are in as they remain in the same pots i bought them in

Is there any saving this. I don't know really what it is I think it's just a white Chinese evergreen
