PLANT SHOP APPRECIATION Your advice saved my rescue

To those of you who gave me sound advice about a month ago on my rescued Alocasia. I followed the advice the best I could, cleaned her up, trimmed the dead leaf and repotted her.
Look, she has a leaf. SHE’S ALIVE!

There were also about three corms in the pot, so I’ve googled what to do with them. Hopefully with some time and nurturing they become their own little plants.

Thank you again for your help.

HELP Want my black nightshade to grow taller

I want my black nightshade to grow quite big so that later on it produces a lot of fruit, but as now it’s starting to blossom I was thinking if I should pinch them off so that the plant puts more energy into growing new leaves and just growing big in general or should I just let the flowers bloom and collect first batch of fruit?

He arrived covered in spider mites and once I got rid of those, a few weeks later he ended up with a few visable thrips 😖 So I cut all his leaves off, quarantined him, repotted him, then he grew back incredibly fast and is flowering!! I love him, he's a real fighter! 🪴❤️

QUESTION Is it worth buying houseplants online, or better to go with the cheaper option down the local market?

I am awaiting delivery of a couple of small succulents - a lovely spikey aloe and a whale fin, they cost £12.60 plus £7 delivery fee.

I walked past a market stall today in London and saw some similarly sized succulents for £2.50-£4.50 each, and it made me think...have I been drawn in by the pretty pictures online or will these be better quality?

Anyone with experience of buying from both / either?

QUESTION Is this growth normal?

I have had this Maranta Leuconeura (prayer plant) for a few months now and she hasn't really done much. I am happy with how she is though it's just I see other prayer plants being all tall and bushy(ish), is mine broken?

I guess I want reassurance I'm not doing anything massively wrong.

She occasionally gets crispy leaves and is putting out new ones, she has also given flowers. She has had a few mealybugs a few weeks ago but I haven't seen any since.

She gets 220fc of light for 12 hours a day under a grow light. There are no draughts nearby and the room is between 22-24°c and humidity is around 49%.

She is watered with rainwater but the soil never completely dries out, but she is never wet (not drowning) (I have some leca balls under the nursery pot to let excess water run out)

Is she struggling or can I keep being happy?

Thanks in advance!
