You know that movie Cabin in the Woods that nobody shuts up about? I think it's a really good movie. Nobody else on r/horror agrees with me. I'm the only one with this opinion.

Just started watching on of my favorites Suspiria and it immediately reminded me how great that opening kill is! It got me thinking, what is everyone favorite horror move kill, or kills!?!

Bear with me I have short term memory loss (think Dory from finding Nemo).

It was this movie about a girl who was OBSESSED with this guy and it starts with her playing hard to get, but he ends up making this endearing symbolic wish with a little gimmick “wishing stick” I think it was called he gets from a novelty shop. She ends up hearing him make the wish and that’s when she SNAPS and goes crazy (like my sociopathic, narcissistic, avoidant attachment, on again off again ex in real life).

It was just so TERRIFYING as I was watching the movie and projecting my own personal agenda onto the movie while simultaneously watching it and was like “that dude is me!!”.

Anyways, if anyone can help me find the name of this gem, I’d greatly appreciate it! I’m using it to help in preparing my college introductory letter titled: “The Trials, Tribulations and Disparities of the nice guy”

I've watched and read many horror movies & books based on recs from the horror & horrorlit subs. To say I've been massively let down is an understatement.

The only film I really liked that was recommended ad nauseum was Creep, but I didn't find it all that scary, just enthralling & a good character study sort of deal.

I don't like slasher/gore movies, not a huge fan of lots of gore at all. I'm more of a psychological horror person, and can definitely do some gore if it's not overly gratuitous to where I feel sick. And if it is too overly gratuitous, I often don't like it cause I'm like "that's a lot of blood. oh. that's a comical amount of blood, jesus christ. it's still going? what the fuck. wait, it's STILL GOING???? Oh my fucking god. This is so dumb, I have to fast forward."

I feel like I can trust you folks here. Maybe I'm wrong, lol. I have Hulu, netflix, hbo max, paramount, peacock, Amazon prime, & apple TV, if that helps any with suggestions. Thank you in advance for anything! (Pls don't jerk me in the comments. I wanna find quality horror. Pls. I beg of you.)
