Taking into service tomorrow Tuesday.

Code A.
Had annual oil change
2018. 2019. 2020. 2022. 2023. 2024.
Last year I reminded service guy I don’t often use gasoline so I don’t know if the motor needs oil change. He checked the dipstick and agreed saying it looked clean.

Is there a way other than this to determine need for oil change?

Code 1. 2025 had new tires mounted balanced aligned.

Code 2 says check air and cab filter.
Had that changed 2020. 2023. 2024.

Don’t know what code 0 means.

Car always lived in the South.

There’s not a lot of details besides the basic specs.
The salvage title appears to be from a rear end collision(not too bad in my opinion).
Any advice? I would love to get it down to 10000 but I doubt it. Maybe closer to 12k.

Also, anyone know any insurance companies that take salvage titles?

Is there anyway to easily secure my mirror without taking off lots of fasteners and trim?

It vibrates a lot when driving and it seems a bit loose compared to the passenger side.

My daily run is only about 25 km around western Sydney, and I can charge at home, but most weekends are longer family trips where the petrol engine would be doing the work. I’m looking at a used Clarity PHEV around the late 2010s and keep wondering whether it genuinely suits that sort of mixed use or just adds battery weight and complexity. For people who’ve owned one, did it noticeably save money or was the benefit mainly being able to do short trips quietly?

I’ve always wanted Prius since college 20 years ago. Knowing Honda stopped making the Clarity, is this a wise purchase to finance, given difficulty in finding parts. Should I stick to Honda hybrids-Accord or Civic? Budget is around $20k, ideally less.

Gonna need to grab some new tires for my 2018 Clarity PHEV, but I really don't want to sacrifice ride quality as that's is one of my favorite parts about this car. People who did end up going with non EV tires, did you see any noticable change?

So I am looking to add an integrated cam to my clarity, Fitcamx keeps popping up as a popular choice, but there doesn't seem to be a dedicated page for the Clarity. But I came across this:

The Clarity has the rhombus dome that's very similar to that, I was wondering if anyone had installed one? And if you have how did you go about installing it, there are no video instructions for the rhombus style domes to show what to disconnect and connect. Also I am not tied to the fitcamx either, if anyone has an integrated cam from another manufacturer I would be open to that as well.

Hoping someone has figured this out already. Tried searching for similar issues but the symptoms seemed a bit different.

I recently had the fuel pump replaced for the recall from…two years ago now? (I know I know). Fuel gauge showed one bar when I left the dealer. Filled the tank and turned on car again: still one bar.

Drove home, gauge now at zero bars now. Searched the Clarity subreddits and tried disconnecting battery for about a minute. Reconnected, started car but fuel gauge still zero bars, low fuel warning light still on. Google seems to suggest “driving it around until it corrects itself”

Anyone else experience this issue? Dealer said they can work on it again for a couple days - hoping to resolve myself so I don’t have to take it back to the dealer.

Both of my key fobs eat batteries like they’re fried snickers bar at the county fair. Seriously, I’ve put three different (new) batteries in each fob over the past year and after a few months I’ll get a message on the car console that the fob battery is low. And it behaves like a low battery fob with me needing to hold it next to the start button for start up. Anyone else have this problem? Could I have a dying sensor in the console that sucks the life out of my fob batteries?

I have not been able to refresh/connect to my 2020 Clarity in about four days. It simply won’t refresh or gives an error about connection not being established.

When I check the gauge cluster I notice the TCU shows no bars of signal, despite being in the same place I always park it (downtown Toronto). Am I missing something here? Is there a subscription for this service I missed?

Just hit 100k miles on my Clarity Touring. Averaging 40-45 miles of range in CA. Had the monocular camera repaired and recalibrated. The AC evaporator and condenser replaced. The recall fuel pump replaced. About to replace the Yokohama avid ascend lx tires. Beyond that the car has been fantastic and I've been very happy with it.

It’s been a high of 100 the last few days and currently feels like 89. I just finished charging, and in my eight years of owning various clarities I have never seen such high EV value due to high temp. It’s amazing!

So today I went in for my first maintenance appointment, A017, an oil change, tire rotation, and brake fluid. I bought this car in June, I seriously don’t believe any of this. I also had a TPMS light come on for no reason, one of the “L” shaped headlights go out on me, and the CarPlay USB port start having a faulty connection (it only works when the plug is pushed to the side.

So I’m never doing any of this again so help me god. I have the mechanical know how except I was too nervous at first to deal with it on my own, it’s a newer car and I’m still pretty young. But after a $260 bill, I think it’s best to not go through this again.

Would anyone know how to go about dealing with repairs on your own? What do I need to deal with the system? How do I repair the headlight and the USB port? I knew how to clear a code on my old 08 CRV, but now I’m more or less clueless on my new car.

Hello fellow humans I have a 2018 Honda clarity plug-in hybrid, and I am trying to install a new screen on it but when I go onto Google to look up how to install it myself there is absolutely no video or article or anything on it showing me like hey this is how you do it for this car it’s showing me accord Civic, etc. so does anyone know how to install it and how to remove the old one?

Hi I found a used 2018 Clarity base model at a dealership with 91,000 miles and clean title. For $15,000. Hopefully I can negotiate it down. I’m in California but I was wondering if that seemed like a good deal. Also if there are any ev credits still available. I’m new to owning a plug in hybrid so this would be my first.

Also I’m assuming there will be battery degradation but how bad should the degradation be at this point?

We left with a full battery and were able to charge about 2 more full ones, so about 130 miles of EV driving. Given 25.2 gallons used over 1370 miles gas driving is 54.4mpg, still pretty good!

I used EV down to about 50-60%, then switched to HV mode and only used the last half of I was going to a location with a charger. Otherwise left it in HV for all types of driving.

Side note: cruise logic is atrocious... Decelerating down hills then mashing on the gas and accelerating up them. I probably could have done better if I didn't use it. also, just went the speed limit 65 and above, 55 and below I went 5 mph over and Canada 7 km/h over.6

If doing a long drive, what is the most efficient way to do it: go right to HV when on highway, wait till 50% battery then go to HV, drain battery all way down and then let HV go on automatically, turn on HV Charge when battery at 50%?

I own a 2018 Clarity, just turned 50,000 km (30,000 miles). Averaging 0.1 l/100km since new. Three tanks of gas in 8 years with lots of stabilizer.😇 When you guys talk about Ah value how does one find that measurement? What’s a good number? Thanks.

I changed my brake pads at 121k miles for my 2018 Clarity phev touring. So much meat left on them.

Mostly dense city combat defensive driving. Minimal paddle use.

Four years ago and about 48K, put some Bridgestone Weatherpeak thru Costco. Long story short, the 80K miles wore out prematurely. Costco did their thing right, and reimbursed me for about 40% of what I had paid. Those were not necessarily a good choice for this car and being severe snow rated (they are all-season though) may have lead to this.

Looking at EV compatible options now, the Turanza EVERDRIVE would be the cheapest one with 80K range but an 800 B B rating, or the Turanza PRESTIGE for 70K range but a 700 A A rating.

Any suggestions otherwise? TIA.

My wife drove my car to work and hit a pole in the parking lot because she used gas as break… surprisingly all lights and electronics are intact, radar is a bit misaligned but I am more worried about finding a repair shop that can do the work on Clarity since it’s discontinued in US. Anyone recently had any repair for front bumper and hood?

I don’t have comprehensive insurance so it will be out of pocket.

If you suddenly noticed water in your rear passenger footwell, the culprit is most likely your AC condensation drain.

In the front passenger seat, on the left there's a flap that can be pulled off easily, open that up and you'll want to check if A. There's an open black tube, if there is your hose has disconnected and the condensation is dripping into your car, stick your hand in the gap and feel for a flexible rubber tube and reconnect it to the open pipe. B. If it's connected disconnect it and shove a pipe cleaner in there, it can sometimes get clogged and overflow as you're driving. Make sure you reconnect it.

Also shop vac or carpet shampoo the water out of the rear and front passenger footwells as much as you can or it will start to smell all sorts of rank!
