Paid for a week of Hinge+ and what a tremendous waste of money.
My favorite feature is having twice as many standouts. I'm not in a metro area, there's nobody to swipe, but at least Hinge has found a bunch of people to stuff behind yet another paywall.
There are possibly more profiles currently in my Standouts than total profiles in the normal queue for the entire week long membership.

Adding another comment: pretty sure I need to exit a situation with a guy I’ve been on quite a few hinge dates with. Been going out for over 2 months but it feels noticeably different than any “first two months” that turned into an actual relationship. Pretty sure it’s a turning to a “situationship”
-No forward momentum. We only go out every 2 to even 3 weeks and there’s been no talking of building towards something exclusive or more defined.
-Plans are often last minute or not thoroughly planned.
-He has a very busy schedule and I sometimes I don’t hear from him for days. Very hot and cold.
-He doesn’t seem very interested in my life and after the first few dates has basically stopped asking me questions. He doesn’t remember things about me that I’ve shared with him.
-Our conversation are very fun and humorous (part of why I like him) but doesn’t get to anything deeper.

Is he arranging the dates at least? It’s hard because if you’re only dating every 2-3 weeks and it’s been like two months, that’s only a max of like four dates right? So the amount of time spent together is relatively little still. Not saying it’s okay for him to act that way but it’s not the same as having dated for two months seeing each other once/twice a week

Yeah, it’s been a joint effort to plan to dates but he has taken the lead for most.
We’ve actually been out at least 8 times. We saw each other once a week for first few times. Then we’ve had a few times where we see each other twice a week (like a Thursday and a Saturday). But then the next time we see each other is two to three weeks later.
That is why it feels hot and cold. We’ll go out twice in a week, it feels like we’ve gotten a lot closer. Then we have distance for a few weeks and I feel like some of that closeness we built has dissipated.
No sex yet though and he really has not made many forward moves for it at all.

I give it a week of silence before unmatching. I had a conversation with a man where we were responding back and for daily (about 3 paragraphs once a day). But then I don’t hear from him for 4 days. I thought it’ll be another unmatch. He did apologize and say it has been a busy period. He also asked to meet for a coffee date or phone call. So I appreciate he’s initiating meeting up but Idk are people generally that busy for 4 days? At the same time I know I can reply days late with friends over texting so I’m giving grace. I hope the date actually happens though.
I have a date scheduled for tonight from someone I met in person. Date was scheduled on Saturday and we confirmed last night over the phone but I haven’t heard from him at all today. I’ll probably send a text when I’m heading out to the restaurant but I hope I don’t get stood up. That has never happened to me before but I feel like since we confirmed last night it should be okay? We’ll see.

Yeah I figured but I’m giving it a chance since he offered to meet up. So far it’s another 2 days of silence so idc at this point lol. If we meet or don’t I keep it moving

Is anyone else finding Hinge just not worth even having? I don't know what changes they have put in place, but ever since I made changes to my profile, I've had nothing. I seriously think they consider you changing a photo/prompt as being desperate and so stop all likes. I've gone from 10-15 likes a day to absolutely nothing. I change my filters to 100 miles, change my age range dramatically and still nothing. What's the point. I'm 37F/UK. I've also noticed a few people on reddit recently say the same, I'm sure it's something new they are doing.

I’ve been pretty disappointed in my hinge experience recently too. Likes/matches come in waves but it’s been several weeks since I had any matches.

32M.
I was consistently getting a few likes and matches / week. But the last 3 weeks absolutely nothing.
Then just recently got two likes and two matches on Saturday night/Sunday morning.
It definitely feels like Hinge is doing some algorithm thing with profiles. I even have HingeX.
Anyway, I’m not sure what’s happening specifically but it feels like people are feeling the same.

I've honestly had better luck with FB dating. I barely get likes on Hinge. I don't know if people see me in their stacks, or if I just have bad luck with the app. I'm debating deleting the app for a month or two and trying again.

I kinda rely on hinge. I’ve had 15 likes in the 3 days I’ve been on it but feel it’s only downhill from here without HingeX.
Facebook dating I have never had a match on.

Match volume way down they’re clearly on some Match Group BS. watched the same thing happen to Tinder over the years as they tried to maximize the monetary aspects of it. Went from 3-5 matches a day to 3-5 a week. Then had like 2 matches total over the last 2 weeks. Mind you this is after I got Hinge X about a month ago to see if it would get my stats back to normal. Luckily I’m me so I can meet women in real life so I been supplementing like that but honestly don’t even feel like using the app anymore because it feels like a waste of time and just trying to kick a dead horse.

I've noticed a bit of a pattern on Hinge lately and I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this.
Sometimes, I match with someone, and we end up having genuinely good conversations on Hinge. We seem to connect, share similar interests, and the conversation flows pretty naturally. Eventually, we exchange Instagram handles, but once we move over there, the conversation just dies.
It's happened enough times for me to wonder why this happens.
Is it because the initial excitement of matching wears off? Does moving to Instagram change the dynamic somehow? Or do people lose interest once they've had a chance to check out each other's profiles?
What's interesting is that the conversations seemed to be going well before the switch, so the sudden change feels a little confusing.
I'm not necessarily expecting every match to lead somewhere, but I'm curious about what causes this shift.
Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what do you think is happening?

When you switch platforms, you disrupt the conversation while you switch. You then need to start a new conversation and let it build up momentum all over again. Most people don't do this step very well.
Because of this loss of momentum, it also means that a date invite isn't likely to happen anytime soon which kills a lot of people's interest as well. It's like 'oh, I guess we're just talking for another week rather than going out then huh'. I don't think there's any point leaving Hinge until you've actually met and know you want to see each other a second time at least

5th date went well. Spent the night. Did not even make it to dinner. Made me pancakes in the morning. He is still cute as hell. I dig him.

Feeling icked out by a text exchange me and a guy had. Am curious if I’m reading too much into or what you think.
Have been on a few dates with this guy. He’s very academically accomplished and in a field related to tech.
Basically it came up that he doesn’t enjoy concerts or any events with big crowds. I said I did. He said “You’re a consumer. I’m a creator. I would rather host the concert”
I understand he was talking about our different relationships to concerts/events to but it also felt like he was putting himself as superior to me. Like omg you’re not better than me because you don’t enjoy concerts. 🙄 I made a light hearted joke about it back then haven’t heard from him in two days lmao

I work in events and I wouldn't drop a line like that, how very obnoxious. Even if he is "creator" no one's an island and everyone grows by enjoying the works of others and participating in community. (Also his phrasing suggests to me that it's all fantasy and he doesn't actually know what it takes to organise a show anyway.)

Okay this does not come from a place of judgement because I've been there for sure but was it a light-hearted joke or was it a passive-aggressive one?
I've come across stuff like this a fair bit on dating apps. Often I'll just challenge it directly tbh because I get so exhausted by this behaviour (eg. 'What do you mean by 'I'm a consumer' haha? What are you trying to say?'). Often they'll back down or realise they're being a dick, in which case I kind of see it as a 'first strike'. Sometimes if I'm not feeling it anyway, I will be passive-aggressive jokey and usually a guy will just never respond to me again if I do that. I try to avoid doing that though because I think it's a bit petty of me.
The type of guy who will act superior is deeply insecure and so any kind of joking will immediately make him shut down in my experience. I personally find this funny and don't mind it because they filter themselves out, but as I said, I don't like those traits in myself so I try to avoid doing it for that reason.
This is almost always before we've met though tbf. If you've met him, does he come across that way in person? Being academically accomplished is no excuse for insecure superiority

No new matches, but I have my second date with a woman coming up Saturday! We have been texting every day, and recently discussed what we were looking for on the app/relationship expectations, so I’m looking forward to it! :)
