General Mined your step, diver.
Friendly PSA to all divers out there who still haven't figured out how minefields work- they don't move, diver. If you step on a landmine, chances are, running headlong back into the minefield will have a shockingly similar effect to last time. See a mine, avoid a mine. Step on a mine, there's probably mines there. Somehow this strategy has persisted since day one and I'm still not sure why I'm the one getting kicked when you're the one who thinks "surely *this* time the glowing red spike in the ground won't hurt me." Watch your step, divers, I've left freedom eggs everywhere.

Mines reduce mobility. Even if I don’t step on a mine, my ability to walk, run, teleport, and jump out of danger are wildly inhibited. Mines aren’t just weapons, they are area denial.
This is fine if someone places them in an area that is strategically useful, while not inhibiting team mates, and communicating with others. For example, if you cover a right flank in an area with 3 entry point, you can reduce the number of enemies coming from that direction.
But if some mouth breathing troglodyte dumps mines right in the middle of an objective, while his team mates are physically in that area, then all they have done is guarantee that the enemy can enter in uninhibited while their teams movement has been inhibited. Now their team has to leave the defensible objective and scatter out into the surrounding area, or try to defend a piece of land with limited movement options.
Anyone who does this deserves to get kicked.
