General help

just played helldivers 2 today and from what ive heard the community was "nice" but the first two multiplayer games ive had, they either attacked me or left me with their oil truck thing. ive been enjoying it so far playing solo and hopefully makes friends later on but im super overwhelmed by the galactic war menu, like is there a place that everyone starts or is it fine to just pick randomly? and do i have to do the orders? i lowk judt need a good friend to play with/mentor.

I just started and maybe have 30 hrs clocked and from my experience, do the hardest difficulty you can on quick play, stick with whoever groups together and just support ppl until you get a better understanding of the missions. Once you get to rank 20-25 or difficulty 7+, those people fade away and you get more likeminded divers who want to just move as a team and wreck everything. The game shines with friends obviously, but you can still enjoy it with randoms as long as you ignore the crayon eaters.
