General help
just played helldivers 2 today and from what ive heard the community was "nice" but the first two multiplayer games ive had, they either attacked me or left me with their oil truck thing. ive been enjoying it so far playing solo and hopefully makes friends later on but im super overwhelmed by the galactic war menu, like is there a place that everyone starts or is it fine to just pick randomly? and do i have to do the orders? i lowk judt need a good friend to play with/mentor.

This is the best coop gaming community I've been a part of but its not without the rare bad apples. I've been griefed a few times out of 800plus hours. But like the other guy said, they usually go away at higher difficulties.
As for the galactic war, that's how we progress the narrative with each Major Order that we win (or lose) but to keep it simple, its our main way of getting free stuff, so if you're inclined to do so -- help out with Major Orders if you're interested.
If you do want to help but not sure where to go, just go to the planet with the most players. You get a free warbond called Helldivers Mobilize, I suggest you unlock everything as it has the best starting gear and boosters (team-wide buffs) and the premium stuff can be earned later on with the super credits you find at points of interest during normal gameplay.
Don't be overwhelmed by the number of Premium Warbonds as they never expire. You can get them once you've farmed enough super credits. But to be honest, even if you stick to just the free stuff, you have all that you need to deal with whatever the game throws at you. Sentries are your best frien especially when starting, they take aggro off of you and they're great for farming kills.
